I meant btw a 'sufficiently high' angle - it should be high enough now!

Lalsy · 02/05/2017 21:16

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03q8xw8

here you go.

hattymattie · 02/05/2017 21:25

Here we can only get Vit D on prescription as I think it's harmful if taken in the wrong dose. Got some for DS last year given that he's most of the time skulking in his bedroom, he had a blood test and was low on Vit D. Apparently about 70% of the French have a shortage oIf Vit D - presumably the other 30% are on the South Coast.

bigTillyMint · 02/05/2017 21:28

In s&b news, I have just opened my delivery of these and i love them Smile

motherinferior · 02/05/2017 22:42

I just bought two pairs of jeans in the Fatface sale Grin

MrsWobble3 · 02/05/2017 22:42

I take a vit d supplement as suggested by my dermatologist. I assume it is doing me good - it may be coincidental but my insomnia/poor sleep has improved. So I shall keep on with the pills until I see any evidence of harm. But it doesn't really feel right that normal life needs medical supplement. I think I must be spending too much time at work!

Lalsy · 02/05/2017 23:11

I think it is good, MrsW. If sun wasn't also dangerous, presumably humans might have evolved to have very fair skin across the globe? So is is a rough balance I guess. I am glad we can tweak where necessary with sunscreen and vit D - I remember reading accounts of women with rickets trying to give birth, horrible.

Montypulciano · 03/05/2017 07:15

Btm, I've got those sandals too. They are amazing - so comfortable, unlike the Hasbeens that they are copying, and a third of the price Smile

bigTillyMint · 03/05/2017 07:38

I haven't worn them out yet, but they feel super-comfy tried on in the house! Will they rival the Hotters to be the Summer '17 Crepey sandals?Grin

IDismyname · 03/05/2017 08:02

I have just dumped 3 dresses and 4 shrugs into my shopping basket at Monsoon. Luckily they have 30% off at the mo. Need something for the races, but suspect I may be one of many wearing the ensemble. As long as there's enough distance between us, I hope something fits and I look OK.

I had my colours done ages ago (probably need them done again, now that I'm embracing the grey), but I'm really struggling to find anything the right colour. I can't do that old rose/ faded pink, or mustard, or deep teal, or severe navy, or coral. And I can't do massive abstract flowery patterns, as they wear me! Argh. I hate this kind of pressure.

I don't 'do' smart very well.

I placed an order for the Hotter silver sandals but will need to wait a few weeks before delivery. Someone obviously got there before me... Grin

motherinferior · 03/05/2017 08:14

God, imagine the lurkers peering into what they think is an S&B thread and seeing the Hotter love. We'll be picking out the unexpected stars of the Chums catalogue next.

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/05/2017 08:17

Lol at the Hotter love.

I am depressed to report that since my 100 days without AF, it has returned with drearily monotonous regularity. Good job I bought those Lil-lets that were on offer.

DH and DD1, with their blue-white skin take vitamin D supplements. DD2 and I don't.

wordassociationfootball · 03/05/2017 10:06

Monty - just smile..... jowls gone!

I treated my twatted knee to jumping up and down to an all woman Japanese punk band on Monday night (they were AMAZING)..... and spent most of yesterday working in bed as a result. It's ok walking. Just need to do the one at a time stairs thing.

I take vit d to off-set fact I wear factor 50 on my face everyday. Talking of which...

MRS S - I bought that Art naturals retinol. Thank you for rec. It is very good.

Dreamqueen · 03/05/2017 10:08

I'm in the same boat as you Cloud silver hotter sandals are due for dispatch at beginning of June. I'm also thinking of getting the black Ines but want to try silver before ordering another pair.

BeachysSandyFlipflops · 03/05/2017 10:31

WAF, very Envy of a Japanese punk bank. The thought of that within 50 miles of here!

Have you a link to the serum. I've reverted to Aveeno basic moisturiser in a tube, as it doesn't make my eyes sting... so I think I need something extra.

Today's job is packing up all the Lego in the house and storing it somewhere. I realised why dd2 is so messy as she has ALL the baby toys, jigsaws, Lego etc in her room. So I'm clearing it all out to make her feel a bit more grown up (which she certainly is) 😀

How do you decide which toys to keep for potential gc's? I feel a bit sad now all the children things are going away for god knows how long Sad

herbaceous · 03/05/2017 11:02

Sad at baby toys Beachy. I feel the same every time dp has one of his regular vapours about 'the state of the house' and I have a purge. DS is as sentimental as me, and won't part with, for example, his tiny toy kitchen that he now towers over.

Talking of intimidating bulk, I was unexpectedly left on my own with the naughtiest group of boys for a a Whole Period. I decided to ask questions about the difference between Romania and here, especially school. Build a relationship, while creating some simple sentences, and all that.

Giant Scary boy just kept googling pictures of girls. Threats of negative behaviour points just bounce off him. I asked what happens st home when they're naughty at school. He said 'a teacher told me to do something. I tell him 'fuck you' and punch
him.' OK. You just carry on googling. I'm not going to stop you. He'll apparently be expelled soon.

IDismyname · 03/05/2017 11:03

Beachy - I have kept the Lego and Brio train set.

So that will almost certainly mean we'll have grand daughters :)

Just waiting for friend to arrive to go for dog walk and lunch. Am doing this:Mary Berry Salmon

She is the mum who lost her DS to cancer 8 weeks ago. Have not seen her since the funeral. Fell quite apprehensive TBH.

Cremolafoam · 03/05/2017 11:24

Oh Cloud.what a good friend you are. It will be fine. That salmon dish looks lovely.Flowers
Hope the monsoon items work for you. Sounds lie a good haul.

BTM, I have a v similar red pair like that , bought in France. So comfy (and supportive of back.) love the excitement gained from a pair of new shoes 👠.Grin couldn't agree more about Hasbeens. Sold my pair on eBay., but have a pair of Lotta from Stockholms which are great and the leather hasn't stretched at all. About to try Mohedo Tofelns. Will report back. Love a clog.
Zalando having a sale on a few of my wish list items. Am restraining self as have had a bit of a spend your week already on Amazon, to include a metal arch for the garden and a flat top kabuki brush. Eclectic , me. Wink
Waf also jealous of the Japanese punkettes. Was it the or the Frank Chickens??
Not jealous of sore knee. Sounds like you gave it a good bash. Gp and X-ray , just in case?

OP posts:
Cremolafoam · 03/05/2017 11:27

We have kept a lot of dds crap toys, but also passed much on to cousins. Sold the lego at a boot sale ( pick and mix ) 10p for a bag.Grin all the books, kept.all the board games , kept.no idea what else is upstairs in the roof space. 🤦‍♀️

OP posts:
magimedi · 03/05/2017 11:33

I kept all the duplo & lego & a few assorted bits.

Got the duplo out to take to PFGD & a lot of it had gone brittle with some sharp cracked bits.

Off for a swim - don't want to but must............

Cremolafoam · 03/05/2017 12:25

Oh and cuddlies. We have a house full of cuddly creatures from my childhood and dh's and dd's. We are ridiculously sentimental about the fluffy things.Hmm

OP posts:
Lalsy · 03/05/2017 12:37

We kept random items that happened to fit into bags with zips - think mostly lego and soft toys (dd won't let those go anyway).

Cloud, you are a good friend and I am sure she appreciates that you haven't backed away because it is so difficult.

Which Monsoon goodies did you get (if you want some light relief later)?

MollyMugwump · 03/05/2017 13:54

I am de-cluttering all the toys from the loft. We have to wait till dd comes home for the hols to OK their disposal though. Seven tons of Build a Bear, anyone? You will laugh, but I have googled "Dog rescue charity shops" in the hope of thus incentivising her. I am far too retentive, but I'm looking forward to a few years of having a tidy and orderly garage before it all fills up with huge plastic toys for the dgc. Grin

Cloud, good luck on your walk and lunch. You are so supportive, you will be fine. Thanks

MollyMugwump · 03/05/2017 13:55

Little Tykes Cosy Coupe is what I'm thinking of, re huge plastic. Do they still make them? The classic dgc acquisition.

BeachysSandyFlipflops · 03/05/2017 14:39

Our Cosy Coupe is now a chicken perch Grin
