Just a quick comment re Hotter: the shops are happy to honour anyon line offers, they just won't tell you about them. I find this very useful as my shoe size can vary according to the style so much easier to go to the shop.

Enjoy your time in bed, MI.

Your trip to Paris and DS's singing sounds fantastic, Herbs.

No time for anything else as DH is packing for his trip - I may have to murder him!

wordassociationfootball · 01/05/2017 10:03

Lalsy, that could so be me not drinking and coming home to orthotics. Just think of our gambolling livers! Our supported arches!

Dreamqueen · 01/05/2017 10:03

Thank you MrsS off to try again.

Auriga · 01/05/2017 10:04

Re-sets, of course.

I also have to work today but want to do something different as well to mark the holiday. Have asked DH for ideas. After a brief search, he came up with 'wrestling in Dartford'. But then realised it's not today. This could take a while.

Blackduck · 01/05/2017 10:05

Oh NU good to know! I live in Hotter country so could pop along...

wordassociationfootball · 01/05/2017 10:08

Advice please crepeys:

Have twatted knee going backwards on x trainer. Going downstairs v ouch. Walking ok. General rehab suggestions please.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 01/05/2017 10:15

Don't go backwards on cross trainers! (Sorry).

bigTillyMint · 01/05/2017 10:28

Rest. If it feels like you have pulled something, cold (frozen peas) and hot (waterbottle) compresses alternately. Rest.
When it feels a bit better, gentle exercise.
And then do not go backwards on a crosstrainer!

motherinferior · 01/05/2017 10:36

I'm still not sure what to do about this client. Sad

Blackduck · 01/05/2017 10:49

Bin them off MI. They are bringing nothing but grief and you said its slave labour..... If it was mega bucks different story.

Lovely 60th with in laws apart from sil who is vegan (as are her girls) and moaned about every course and basically told me how fat, grey and decrepit the rest of us are, and I'll never make 60th Anniversary as not married - so this means what? My relationship is worth less? (Dp and I have been together the longest of all his family). I must ensure I do not sit next to her at the next do or I will kill....

Cremolafoam · 01/05/2017 11:00

BD, next Time she comes make the soup with chicken stock. Just sayin..Wink what a cow

MI, misery to dh regarding the hols. The client sounds like a bore , but if you have to m have to keep them do absolute minimum for them.

Waf, you poor thing. Yes frozen veg upon thy wound , but keep it moving gently.

Dh has mysteriously disappeared this morning. No sign of him at all , so I have to conclude he has gone in to work after saying he'd take the bank holiday. Angry
I am looking at it as a peaceful bonus ans will 'do own thing' today instead.

Sitting in the park with the kids on swings. Both dd1 and dh at home being grumpy so I am out with the cheery twosome.

MI, how important is your client to you £££ wise? Usually I'd say get rid but if they are very lucrative might be worth doing the minimum until someone better comes along. Can you book a holiday for you and girls without him, but with space for him to join when he sees sense?

BD, vegans can be so joyless. Ignore ignore re unkind comments on anniversaries. How rude.

Liked the hotter sandals, esp red and silver. Also liked MrsS's gin recipes on Facebook.

Hope revision is going well for those in that position and that the support network is not finding it too tiring.

Crem, I bought some of the cc cream you suggested and it's ace! Thank you. Have had hair coloured bronde (?) again and am feeling a little more youthful. Caramel tones are v flattering to the crepey complexion.

Hope knee feels better soon, WAF.

Lalsy · 01/05/2017 12:03

WAF, yes, truly we rock eh? Grin.

Not sure about knee injury, but once better...I think my knees get fewer twangs since I started using leg curl and leg press machines sometimes, and doing lots of squats and lungers. But not for the injured I think.

Crem, thank you so much for all the travel updates on the CrepeWeb. If the icy rain continues, I may fit in a nice fantasy holiday session with cup of tea later.....

dh usually works Sundays at least and once ds no longer around needing Food and Stability, I will have to be more organised about lining stuff up.

MI, is the work something that helps you get other things (big name, good rep or whatever)?

I find MSE is good for voucher codes that work.

Lalsy · 01/05/2017 12:36

Think I may suggest a little Rotterdam trip to dh, to mark second-born flying the nest (if he does)...thanks Crem!

motherinferior · 01/05/2017 14:30

More holiday joy: DP now suddenly announcing HE doesn't want to go away for more than a week because "it's so hard to get three weeks off work" i.e. he is going off for his regular week of GUESS WHAT. And, and, AND he is saying in Martyred Fashion that of course he couldn't go in Jan because I was in India.AngryAngry

Montypulciano · 01/05/2017 15:15

He is being rather mean spirited and thoughtless, MI.

Can you and girls go somewhere for a fortnight with him dipping in for one of the weeks?

Montypulciano · 01/05/2017 15:17

Actually that is properly outrageous. So he is allowed to go for a week in Jan on his own but you are not, esp as you were recently bereaved? I know yours was longer than a week but it wasn't round the corner.

He could have a week off for TMAWDNSIN at beginning of hols then have 2 weeks with you at end. Or summit.

motherinferior · 01/05/2017 15:34

Girls only want to come for a week too. I am working on a bit of pre-family holiday with MrsS.Smile

motherinferior · 01/05/2017 15:37

He has gone away to do his fucking t'ai Chi for YEARS now. Sometimes twice a year. He used to bill it as "childcare" Hmmwhen he took the girls. DD2 will go with him but it's totally optional.

It's partly because of that that the girls have kicked up rough about going away for a fortnight but they really don't want to anyway.

I would be ok with organising my own bloody holiday completely, frankly, but then he goes on about wanting time with is all/me.

Lalsy · 01/05/2017 16:01

Well, he can't have both MI. Cake and eating it and all. How infuriating. Would you like a few days at the Gladstone Library writing maybe?

We are having a week this summer with all of us (plus possibly the odd teen joining us and friends while we are there) and dh and I are going to the Fringe. WHooopee

bigTillyMint · 01/05/2017 16:25

Sorry to hear about your holiday-booking woes, MI. Week with MrsS and a week with the fam? Get the week with MrsS booked and don't worry about the fam - if noone else is bovvered, why should you?

At least holidays are something that DH and I are on the same page aboutGrin

Just had a loverly day out with loverly friend - walked up to Piccadilly for lunch, America after the Fall exhibition at the RA (which DD should have gone to - context for English A'level) and tea in the RA members tea-roomSmile I wish every weekend had a BHMonday!

CointreauVersial · 01/05/2017 17:04

What a nice day, BTM - very civilised.

Agree with others, MI - do a week with family and a week doing what you fancy with someone else. I'm so-so about two week holidays, unless you are going somewhere really long-haul - on the one hand it's nice to get a proper long break, but on the other hand it's nice to have twice as many shorter holidays. I'm also a huge fan of long weekends.

Well, I went off to the DIY store to buy my tin of dullsville greige bathroom paint, and had a rush of blood to the head while looking at the display....and came back with purple. DH said "you're not brave enough", which was essentially a red rag to a bull. One coat down, one to go, and I love it! DH bemused/resigned, DCs horrified.

"When I am an old woman I shall paint my bathroom purple" (with apologies to Jenny Joseph). Grin

magimedi · 01/05/2017 17:15

That's not purple - it's bathroom blackberry - love it, CV.

MI - just do what you want & let him stew with his own stuff.

bigTillyMint · 01/05/2017 17:28

That is a lovely colour - similar to our bedroom walls I think! Purpley-greyGrin

I like lots of "long as possible holidays", which is the perk of being a teacher!

hattymattie · 01/05/2017 17:33

CV - I think we need to see a picture of the completed bathroom.

MI - DH totally wanting to have everything his own way. Very infuriating. Go for fun week with Mrs S.

Here - have had big lunch with friends and generally set world to rights. Drank a little too much and saw myself in mirror looking bleary eyed and flushed after they had departed. God knows what they think. Now reading on the sofa and trying to fathom how to illegally stream The Handmaid's Tale.

Crem - how is your eye doing?
