Addle that sounds like a perfect Sunday!

I have been perusing Air bnbs en France in the hopes that we can go as DD didn't like my suggestion of a mobile home on a campsite!

MrsWobble3 · 23/04/2017 18:57

We went to Santiago de Compostela but it must have been more than 25 years ago so it's probably changed a bit. We stayed in the Hotel de Reyos Catolicos which was fantastic but rather too posh and middle aged for a couple in their early 20s who turned up in tshirts and shorts. The security guard didn't want to let us in but we proved our reservation and passports. Once inside the staff were fantastically friendly - I think we made an interesting change from their usual guests. We hadn't realised what we booked - it was just one of the Paradors then and we booked a string of them.

hattymattie · 23/04/2017 18:57

Waiting for the French results...

BTM - we've done the mobile home thing - they're not bad.

bigTillyMint · 23/04/2017 19:02

Hatty, we camped en France every summer for 10+years when the DC were small, so she knows that the campsites are good - not sure what the problem is TBH!

hattymattie · 23/04/2017 19:03

Macron 23.7%, Le Pen 21.7 so she didn't win the first round. Macron should be President. Much relief all round Smile

motherinferior · 23/04/2017 19:05

OMG YES THANK THE LAWD...

motherinferior · 23/04/2017 19:06

Though there's form for people coming top in second round, isn't there?

Have sent DP list of possible swanky apartments in Porto. He appears to want a house. They don't really do houses with pools...

CointreauVersial · 23/04/2017 19:08

Is that good?? It doesn't sound very far ahead.

hattymattie · 23/04/2017 19:18

These are official estimations - but the fact that Marine didn't win the first round which was widely predicted means it is unlikely she will win the second - all the votes from the candidates eliminated on the left will be shifted onto Macron and probably most of the centre right. Normally he should have a landslide.

bigTillyMint · 23/04/2017 19:23

That sounds good HattySmile

magimedi · 23/04/2017 19:47

Please God may Macron win the second round.

Just hope he is not a French Blair - I know little about him 9macron, that is).

Lalsy · 23/04/2017 20:11

Reason to be cheerful:
interactive.guim.co.uk/charts/embed/apr/2017-04-13T11:11:03/embed.html

In epilator news - I know you have all been on the edge of your seats - it has arrived, been used, and not too painful. I am a bit patchy but cautiously optimistic.

Lalsy · 23/04/2017 20:15

I'd take Son of Blair over le Pen any day Grin despite throwing a tea towel at TB via R4 earlier today

Blackduck · 23/04/2017 22:06

BTM and I are planning early DnS next Friday in the usual place if anyone would like to Jon us!

motherinferior · 23/04/2017 22:09

It might be possible to twist my arm.Smile

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/04/2017 23:38

D & S? Next Friday? Should be able to manage that... Grin

Auriga · 23/04/2017 23:42

Sigh of relief over French results.

Cold has been horrible but reasons to be cheerful:

  1. managed to clean out the freezer and make 6L of stock, after roasting all the bones I've been saving up in there for months.
  2. Another fine, sunny bluebell walk
  3. Perfect roast chicken with garlic and lemon gravy
  4. Love and Friendship on Netflix.
Cremolafoam · 24/04/2017 00:01

I was just thinking, I wonder where Mrs S is! WinkGrin

Mon dieu Hatty. Sweaty palms all day thinking about élection Français. I'll wait until after deuxième to make any happy noises. tries not to think about Brexit, Trump, et al.Angry

Have done stacks today, completely in pjs. Am now post aromatherapy bath in a second pair of pjs , feeling fiiiine.
Delighted to hear Obama's Back tomorrow.

Rollin' the boulder, rollin' the boulder...Smile

wordassociationfootball · 24/04/2017 11:35

You can deffo score in BP I reckon Addle. You need Morleys for Clinique though. Crem - I have the cc in light. It is good but... unexciting. It is quite sheer and matte but can layer up. The colour match is excellent for me. Perhaps the unexcitement is linked with how now this very generous sample is nearly over, do I REALLY want to spent thirty five quid on this particular gubbins?

Am having an interview for a script editor job this week. I haven't done this role for ten years. I don't like being responsible for a whole thing. Story structure is my weakest area, and I like to limit the number of people I have to deal with. BUT even though I don't think I'd be especially good at guiding on structure, AND it scares me, I should go for it, shouldn't I? It would be ten months and quite full on. I do know more about writing and structure than I did ten years ago and have worked with more script editors who I can model my persona on/ask advice of..... I am also considering, should I be offered this, and of course I might not be, trying to do it as a shared role with a super easy to work with and excellent at structure script ed I've worked with a) for the back up and b) for the space to keep fingers in other pies.

wordassociationfootball · 24/04/2017 11:36

I realise I've probably answered my own question....

wordassociationfootball · 24/04/2017 11:37

Love and Friendship crackles, doesn't it Auriga. But did you find Kate B's fake tan distracting?

motherinferior · 24/04/2017 11:43

Deffo go for it, WAF.

I am excellent on other people's structure.Grin

wordassociationfootball · 24/04/2017 11:51

Epiphany: It's just possible that I'm more excited than anxious. That's a turnaround. Funny how you can get rid of old scripts/ideas about yourself without realising. I have been avoiding this kind of series work but possibly building up skills/confidence in the meantime.

And yes MI Smile although, part of my anxiety round this role has been a feeling that I would become responsible for fixing lots of other writers stories, when actually it's about pointing out areas that they need to look at.

Cremolafoam · 24/04/2017 11:52

Brilliant review Waf, thankenyou.Flowers do it I say.re job. You know you should.
Clinique Wondrousness :Cost ratio fail I'd say. I am going to try the Korres Rose one as tis on offer and I like the scent of roses and that might give me a wee lift every morning.
Def no lift this am when I woke up to A Boil on chin . Tmi I know. Prob due to change in face regime ( should have left well aloneSad) sigh

Cleaning the house today. Cataract removal tomorrow. Much admin to wade through yet.
Have been sent Scooby letter from hospital about NOT attending an appointment on 7th April. I was never sent a letter about this imaginary appointment so this gives me the rage. It's the small things that set me off Crepeys.grr
