Lalsy · 24/03/2017 16:48

It may be for them, MI, that's up to them.

addle · 24/03/2017 17:42

MI, totally agree with everyone else about car and the browbeating. but can I just check - is your DP in fact a quadruplet?

sorry to miss those who won't make it tomorrow, looking forward to seeing those who will

Cloud - thinking of you

Rose - I'm v sorry about ConS - sound like a really painful situation

motherinferior · 24/03/2017 17:51

He isn't even a twin - but they all look so alike, it's absurd.

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/03/2017 19:26

Oh FFS, I finally got through to my Mum (she finally picked up the phone) and she said she felt sick, but no-one was answering her buzzer. She then managed to cut off the call, it goes straight to voicemail and I can't get through to the ward - it just says "call ended" straightaway. Will try switchboard.

NUFC69 · 24/03/2017 19:38

Drat, MrsS. I hope you manage to sort it out.

I love driving, I am afraid, and although it's not essential where I live, it is helpful.

Reasons to be cheerful today:

  1. I bought fig rolls.
  2. I actually wore my new gilet for the first time and loved it.
  3. I heard about the Cloud Appreciation Society and thought 'yes, I can support that'! Still thinking about you and DS, by the way.

Enjoy your MU tomorrow - I hope the travellers have arrived safely.

bigTillyMint · 24/03/2017 19:39

MrsS, they won't leave her to it if she genuinely needs help, surely?

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/03/2017 19:55

Finally got through via the switchboard. She turned her phone off to charge it...

The pain nurse from ICU put her on painkillers every four hours, to keep the pain at bay constantly. This isn't happening on the ward - she has to ask all the time for them (as did our neighbour who was visiting today). She just seems to get the drugs when the nurse remembers or feels like giving them out. She had to have morphine tonight as she hadn't had enough painkillers earlier, and it has made her feel sick. The neighbour said she had them in the morning, again at midday and then nothing at al after that - she left at 6, and had been asking for painkillers for the past two hours, only to be constantly told "in a minute".

I have to say that her nurse (they seem to have one per bay, so one nurse to six patients, when the bay is full) is a bit crap. She is never anywhere in sight, and the other nurses are all busy with their patients and say we need to find the nurse for her bay.

Cremolafoam · 24/03/2017 20:01

Oh bugger Mrs S, i am sure the nursing staff are doing a meds round or something but will of course respond to an alarm quickly. She is the giddy limit , I know, but being in hospital feels like you are being ignored because of the acres of time stretching out before you.

I have watched 15 minutes of Comic relief and wept huge, plinking tears watching Ed Sheerin in Liberia with a wee girl who sand for him. I am broken,

Rose, would you like to do something on Monday?

Ooh good, Rudy Smile

I saw that too Cremo Sad
We now have some shit football match on Angry

Meanwhile DD and her mate are back from the gym (where ex-friends were, but DD braved it out amid lots of texts) having dinner before hosting a prinks party here (old friends 18th) with, amongst others, Addles DS Grin

Cremolafoam · 24/03/2017 20:12

Sorry cross post there Mrs S. Is dm written up for the pjs on her character? Is it a request when you need it? Appalling if she is not getting the right pills at the right time. Ask to speak to the nurse manager or Ward sister or even for even more punch, The on call SHO. It's still early enough.
Can you tell I've been left high and dry without insulin before now???

Cremolafoam · 24/03/2017 20:13

PK s on her chart- nothing about pyjamas. Sorry GrinWink

Go on Rudy.....Grin

Mrs S, it is proper pants and it's horrible leaving them to the vagaries of the ward. She is in a safe place and I'm sure the painkillers will come, it's just that time stretches so badly in hospital.....

Dd2 and I are packed and ready for a 330am rise to catch a flight for our mini break. Hope it's all stress free!

Cloud, hope today wasn't too bad and that you have a nice glass of Gin for Friday night.

On cars, couldn't live without more than one here....

Blackduck · 24/03/2017 20:30

Beachy where are you off to?
I'm on booze, cheese on toast and The Team.... and an early start...
dp is extremely pissed about about a missed flight and now a delayed alternate flight - I'd have cancelled

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 24/03/2017 20:33

Italy, tonnes and tonnes of Roman ruins, with pizza and ice cream thrown in (and hopefully a glass of Wine for me!)

Cremolafoam · 24/03/2017 20:47

Oh Beachy, marvellous! Have a wonderful time !! We shall toast you over our own pizza slices tomorrow.
Rudy do come if you feel you can. Xx

Blackduck · 24/03/2017 20:49

Should have told me - is have offloaded ds!!!

IDismyname · 24/03/2017 23:34

Just checking in to say a big THANK YOU for all your thoughts today.

It was beautiful and bl**dy awful in equal measure. DS read beautifully and I sobbed my way through most of the service. I mean, Jerusalem and Swing Low, Sweet Chariot belted out by several hundred people reduces me to tears at the best of times.

Feel wrung out. This business is like a scab that I pick weekly. Brings too much back.

Teenagers, however, are not meant to die.

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 25/03/2017 05:55

They certainly are not, Cloud.

Have a good MU tonight. We are hanging at the airport!

Cremolafoam · 25/03/2017 07:47

Buongiorno Crepissima, hope Italy's looking good.
Mind you the weather's going to be lovely today.

Cloud, glad the funeral passed well.im not surprised you are wrung out. Hope you can have a peaceful weekend.

bigTillyMint · 25/03/2017 08:19

Glad the funeral went as well as it could Cloud. How brave of your DS to speak.

Cremo, are you here? It's a beautiful blue-sky sunny day Smile

Lalsy · 25/03/2017 08:54

Oh Cloud. Gulping here. Well done your ds. Hang on in there.

Beach, have a splendiferous time - I want to do similar with dd.

motherinferior · 25/03/2017 08:54

Am assembling marching garments!
