The dress you've chosen is lovely, BTM and will need little accessorising. You could have a delicate bracelet like this. I'm sure they do matching earrings.

I'm not sure what you can do about the girl friendship thing - I agree with Stropps that they are all so het up at this stage of Year 13 that any hint of additional anxiety or stress can set them off. Can your dd get support or strength from the others in the group? How much do these girls know about ds and what she is going through? TBH, some of them are probably low on empathy or reserves exacerbated by exam stress and tiredness. I'm not sure how that helps, but normal group dynamics that have worked for years can go to pot in stressful exam years.

I've started a thread in Preteens about social media in Year 7. I'll probably get slaughtered and told my child should be making mud pies and crochet dollies, but let's see. Feel free to join in.....thread here

Judydreamsofhorses · 06/03/2017 21:37

So sorry to butt in, but I just wanted to commend your thread title. My grandpa used to recite this rhyme to me every year when I was little, and it has made me feel so nostalgic!

bigTillyMint · 06/03/2017 21:41

That's a pretty bracelet, Beachy.

The girls in question know everything about DS, but probably don't have any inkling about how really bloody terrible it has been at home - understandably. I myself had no concept whatsoever of how truly awful it is before. And, yes. You are probably right about Y13 stresses too. But friend 2 (whose parent replied) and DD got through the GCSES together supporting and encouraging each otherConfused Friend 1 was not on the scene at this timeHmm

Why thank you Judy!
Like your name v much too. Feel free to hang out with us...

I have a mini crush on Olivia Coleman. Luffs her...

GiddyGiddyGoat · 06/03/2017 22:09

I watched it but am already confused by all the different men who are all made to seem 'suspicious' in different ways. Can't keep up - WAH!

OP posts:
GiddyGiddyGoat · 06/03/2017 22:11

And what exactly happened re the murder of that boy in the previous series? Wasn't the murderer Olivia Coleman's husband?? So what is the bereaved dad going on about wanting revenge and him being free etc??

I believe it was I who used 'grass is riz' thread title last year. Great minds think alike, and all that...

I watched broad church too, but didn't see either of the last two series, so have the advantage of less addlement, but the disadvantage of not knowing any necessary background info.

Watched SSGB last night, and was totally baffled. Very little idea what's going on. Too many meaningful looks, and double bluffs, and not enough plot exposition for the hard of thinking. And the mumbling, but dashing, main man with no facial expression doesn't help matters.

Lalsy · 06/03/2017 22:32

Blimey, BTM, what a thing. That's about the most insightful comment I can make as find the idea that someone cuts someone off like that for such a reason bizarre - you have some insightful comments here though. Poor dd - chink of light that she is moving on though?

I love Rose's menu and BTM's dresses!

And Olivia Coleman....not watched this week's yet - think the series are flawed and irritating but OC makes it worth while....Yeah, GGG didn't he get found not guilty because OC attacked him in the cell so police brutality and then the village sort of drummed him out of town, ludicrously?

Lalsy · 06/03/2017 22:36

Mind you, none of this is as baffling as Follow The Money. dh and I are still on the end of episode four after months of hard dozing slog.

I love your long posts Stropps. I have varifocals and use a computer and don't think I have a problem - would I know if I did?

GiddyGiddyGoat · 06/03/2017 22:41

OMG Herbs - and there I was feeling rather pleased with the thread title! Soz. X

Cremolafoam · 06/03/2017 22:45

They couldn't get enough physical evidence against him GGG. So he's out and about doing his thing. looming mostly it seems. They relationship between the dad and the vicar goes back to school days. We are supposed to be confused and suspicious of
The taxi bloke
The blue rope swaggers shit
The ex husband
Lenny Henry. ( no really, bear with me)

In an s&b subplot these and might be nice with frock BTM. Dear help you having to deal with teenage drama llamas of the worst and most hurtful kind. There seems to be one person pressing the buttons here and it ain't your dd. Distracting you, lovely BTM, with crazy shoes linkage.💐

Lalsy · 06/03/2017 23:57

Do you reckon the car mechanic bloke and Rory from Dr Who are in the clear, Crem? I'd move out of a town as full of creepy men, no matter how pretty the seashore cafe.

hattymattie · 07/03/2017 06:36

Ahh it was Lenny Henry. Thank you Crem he was just so out of context I was unsure, and for me he is always just Lenny Henry. Of course, all thr obvious suspects need to be eliminated and it will be somebody obscure that I hadn't thought of.

bigTillyMint · 07/03/2017 07:02

Lovely shoes, GGG. I just fear the heel would be too thin and wobbly for me.

motherinferior · 07/03/2017 07:37

There is also the possibility that it's OC's husband who is connected in some way...

Rosebag · 07/03/2017 08:30

Oh gosh, I love Broadchurch. I love OC's characters ability to be gentle and kind and then shout about "young shits" in the next breath. My money's on the bereaved father from the previous series.... I would secretly like the OC and the DT characters to get it on.... Grin

Lovely dresses BTM So glad Debenhams came up trumps. I'm not a necklace person but love the idea of a bracelet like *Beachy's suggestion. I have found Boden heels manageable.... bought a turquoise version of these last summer for an occasion

I'm so sad about DD's situation...why would they just freeze her out leaving her to guess the reason. Moving on is good...it's the best revenge too. Sometimes friendships just run their course...Flowers Sad

I have to take DM out and drive her somewhere this morning so she knows where to go for an appointment a week or two hence. The is not the chosen way to spend a Tuesday morning. Hmm

NUFC69 · 07/03/2017 08:49

Totally bewildered about TV talk: scratches head ...

I was interested to read what Stropps said about varifocals and computers. Like Lalsy? I have never had any trouble with mine:in fact the very first time I wore them, straight out of the shop, within about a few hundred yards I had adjusted.

Love the dresses, bracelet and shoes (I love bracelets but never wear them as they irritate me so much).

How are the DDs this morning, BTM and MrsS? I think Beachy had some wise words.

Still pursuing holiday destinations with absolutely no success: we discussed cruising the Norwegian fiords yesterday and the cost kept on escalating. DH announced this morning that as this is not our major holiday we ought to set a budget, so we have done this; but we still don't know what we want to do.

BD, how are you doing? Thinking about you.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 07/03/2017 08:54

Those lovely shoes weren't from me BTM. I wouldn't be able to stand let alone walk in those heels!

OP posts:
Cremolafoam · 07/03/2017 10:59

Mea Culpa re teetering heels 👠
Yes too painful if you have to be on your feet all day, as you do at most weddings.
Boden ones are lovely.

Resounding rejection from one application. Sigh 😔

Yes BD how are you.?

Cremolafoam · 07/03/2017 11:22

in sale btm

GiddyGiddyGoat · 07/03/2017 13:10

WHY HAVE I NEVER STIR-FRIED FLOPPY LETTUCE BEFORE????

Have you all been keeping something from me???

hattymattie · 07/03/2017 13:27

This has never occurred to me ...

GiddyGiddyGoat · 07/03/2017 13:30

My ? would be why are you stir frying it now? Isn't it slimy??
