And DP just rang - he'd just been at a meeting at the House of Commons before all hell broke loose!

Lalsy · 22/03/2017 15:15

Westminster news..

motherinferior · 22/03/2017 15:22

Yes, he'd got some of the picture but not all.

Lalsy · 22/03/2017 15:28

Sad.

bigTillyMint · 22/03/2017 15:42

Thanks crepeys. At the appointment a new plan was made so here's hoping.

MI I was only thinking the other day that there hasn't been any attacks on parliament recently.

Rosebag · 22/03/2017 17:18

I am horrified by the attack. Thank heavens DP is ok MI. DH was there yesterday.

BTM Flowers

Cremolafoam · 22/03/2017 18:54

Hmm, seemed to have picked the wrong weekend to sojourn in London. Am horrified , but in many sad ways not surprised. The terrorism threat hasn't ever gone away to my mind.It won't put me off coming, (Lalsy, should we maybe change the venue? I realise it isn't that close, but security around WH/ HOP / DS might be tight.)
.Sad Amazingly fast reaction from security services, thankfully yet I feel quite sick for everyone affected by the attacks.

bigTillyMint · 22/03/2017 19:17

Cremo I think we should just stick with it - nowhere near parliament - unless there are further attacks across the capital?

Terrible though.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 22/03/2017 19:39

Think BTM is right Crem - it's both shocking and business as usual in Central London...

Am outraged and very sad that what looks like the actions of one idiot have cost several people their lives. :(

BTM, your ds is getting the best possible support available. Try to keep the faith and keep being you - it's the best medicine for all of you.

I have finished my term. But I have a huge amount of work to do for my course and teaching to do in my case study school for the next 2 weeks. I am slightly struggling with managing case study school's expectations, as I think they think I am Superwoman. They are likely to be sorely disappointed at some time in the near future.

Today, some of my pupils were performing in a play. There were many inquiries of the "Are you coming to watch me?" variety, to which I mumbled some shifty and unconvincing reply. I feel a tad guilty now, but quite frankly I fecking hate watching my own dcs performing and they would be v put out if I stayed late at school to watch someone else's dc. And hey, I spent my lunchbreak marking books instead of going to watch the Y7 Amy Winehouse singing in the school concert, back in the day. I like to remain consistent in my ignoring of nascent talent.

bigTillyMint · 22/03/2017 19:56

Aww Stropps they must love you if they ask you to watch them Smile

I am somewhat cheered by the presence of a new young professional at DS 's appointment. Definite eye-candy Smile

Stropperella · 22/03/2017 20:07

BTM, I totes have the best end of term bribes treats (choc rabbits AND Haribo). Also, I actually luffs them all very dearly, even though I don't want to see the Y7 and Y8 in their play.

Stropperella · 22/03/2017 20:27

Having had glasses of Wine tonight in celebration of having survived a slightly taxing 3.5 months, I am searching for the easy option in terms of entertainment. I am still on my FB fast, so thought I might throw caution to the winds and look at the non-crepey bits of MN. Which I never usually do. It is a strange and peculiar thing that I ever ended up on the Crepey threads because I do not do MN. I am not a MN type of person. My reactions to trying to even read the titles of Active threads are variously "WTF?" "How old are you?", "No, seriously, how old are you?", "I don't care and I don't see how anyone else does" and "You need to have a lie-down in a darkened room".

GiddyGiddyGoat · 22/03/2017 20:42

How did you find us lot to hang around with then Stropps?? Grin

VERY WELL DONE - for just about everything. Have another glass.Wine

It involves Caitlin Moran, The Times, and a significant amount of lurking, GGG.

Blackduck · 22/03/2017 20:58

Stropps you will need to explain that sometime.
I was in MN when it was very small .... I found the Crepeys and stuck around because I 'recognised' MI from other threads and liked her style.... Wading uphill through custard MI? :)

bigTillyMint · 22/03/2017 21:02

I started looking at MN when the DC were very small and found the relationships boards. Then I got sucked in. And after a few years, found a (the first?) Hag thread and joined inGrin

Stropps, you have done amazingly and we will toast you on SaturdayWine

Stropperella · 22/03/2017 21:05

Probably one for a MU, BD... Let's just say I happened upon MN in the early years and decided it was not my scene, but came back later as a spectator after stomping off somewhere else in protest. (ahhhhhhhhhhhh, those were the days - when that kind of bollocks was important)

BD, sending you love and hugs. Am not posting much (apart from tonight Smile), but am thinking of you.

Stropperella · 22/03/2017 21:22

Anniversary of first Hags thread coming up soon, I think. Who wuz there?

motherinferior · 22/03/2017 22:15

Swimming uphill through custard WinkGrin

I have been out with a group of lovely women to a new local Bar. One that I think
local crepeys would enjoy. Am now going to have a large glass of gin-negating water GrinGin

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 22/03/2017 22:20

I can't remember when I came across the Crepeys or why, but I know I was on an antenatal thread with Wilbur in 2000. I'm going to blame her for leading me in!

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/03/2017 22:47

How old do we reckon this one is?

Spring is sprung, the grass is riz, I wonder where those Crepeys is?
MrsSchadenfreude · 22/03/2017 22:47

Note the speckles of rust.

Stropperella · 22/03/2017 22:51

Pretty sure my dm has one exactly the same. Also some weird dried peas from the 1960s.

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/03/2017 22:53

These were best before 1997.Grin

There are some sachets of German Pudding powder which are from no later than the mid 1950s, but I can't quite reach them without her knowing that I have been poking around.
