Mmm, they look tempting MrsS....

We should have a Hags thread title soon. I can't remember when I joined - perhaps 3 years ago...

Stropps, hell no to the play. You must be so chuffed to have got through this term.

Very shocked by today - my vote would be for sticking with venue too unless something changes like stations being closed or people want to shift out of central London? The threat level has been very high for over two years now. I understand if others feel differently.

Cremolafoam · 23/03/2017 00:29

Not bothered, if you locals are not put off.

No idea how long I've been here as a Crepe, but some time anyhow. I was def. a hag, but a later one.
I first appeared as Sorrel in 2003 . ( we had dial up interwebbagehere and there were about 25 mumsnetters in the colony with Cod as queen) on the ttc boards and adoption threads. Dd was only 7, and we had had her with us for only 18months. Shock I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing.

Stropps, glad to hear you in fine fettle. Looking forward to seeing you.
Mrs S, some of those could be donated to the V&A I'd have thought.Grin
Dh's snoring has me up and in the wide awake club.meh

Blackduck · 23/03/2017 05:53

I remember Cod and probably came across you as Sorrel (I found MN in a book "rough guide to pregnancy' or something like that and joined in 2003 when I had DD)

addle · 23/03/2017 06:33

I remember Cod and think I joined around 2002 and lurked before heading crepeywards in 2013. Think Euphemia/Rhinannon/Aloha and others, and there seemed to be more farmers' wives.

Mrs S, any antique supermarket plastic bags?

I'm also for sticking to the venue despite the awful events in Westminster yesterday.

IDismyname · 23/03/2017 07:19

Having a spot of bother with my iPad. Refusing to post after I've written a tonnage of crap to you all.

Awful awful Westminster news. Have only really woken up to the full extent of the casualties.

I think I joined as Blue2 when DSs refusal to sleep drove me to look for more answers. He's 18 now, so maybe 16 or 17 years ago.
I remember Euphemia and Aloha... I thought they were the MN Royalty.

MrS - your comparison between your DM and Catherine Tates version made me laugh so much... Esp the ham sandwich option.

My DF was the same when he went to hospital. Combination of Forrin' faces and accents + dementia = a lot of embarrassing moments. How is she today?

Sorry not to be at MU. Looks like there would be lots of new Crepeys for me to meet. I may be in London Sat morning, but nipping in and out of 'Chelseah'.

'

Lalsy · 23/03/2017 07:22

Crem, I cant imagine..... I hope you got some support here back then.

I lurked a lot too before creping up.

motherinferior · 23/03/2017 07:52

Oh, that's who you were!

Vile day. Have headache which I do not think is solely result of a cup or two of cocktail (yes. Out of a teapot). Sitting glumly in front of the news.

Cremolafoam · 23/03/2017 11:39

How is MamaS today? Are you still alive Mrs S, after the cupboard of doom released all of its ancient toxins?
Ah, a few names I recall from days of yore. Smile How's it going BD? I'll miss you this weekend.Sad

Things in London looking awful. Can't quite work out exactly what happened, but no matter, the consequences were grim, no matter what the motive or number of people involved.

Packing today and delivering Mother's Day gift , in advance, as I won't be here on Sunday.
Cremcat2 has discovered 'Under The Bed' and is liking muchly.

herbaceous · 23/03/2017 13:06

Hello all. I too have a headache, MI, that is not at all connected to the very small amount of red wine I had last night. Or at least it had better have no connection, or I may as well give up living right now.

Re joining mumsnet, I believe I was first led here to a thread about miscarriages and TTC, so about 10 years ago, and I've stayed ever since. As for hags, I think I was on the first thread, that someone ever so witty (who has now gone) started, and I think Stropps or Mrs S came on to talk about jowl-lag - how their cheeks follow their face half a second later when they turn their heads. I have found My People, I thought.

Lalsy · 23/03/2017 13:34

I too have a headache, possibly connected with the white wine I drank at a very jolly quiz night - think after the events of the day we perhaps all overdid it....

Smile at jowl lag. You lot are the cup that cheers.

motherinferior · 23/03/2017 14:12

I know, if I've become that much of a lightweight with booze I should just give it up.

Everyone in the Inferiority Complex is knackered. DP got on the wrong train to York which obviously I did not find at all amusing. DD2 has a concert tonight at school and is on the verge of tears with exhaustion. I retired back under the duvet with a pile of mags I did genuinely have to read and waded my way the

motherinferior · 23/03/2017 14:15

...through them with relief that just occasionally my work means I have to do stuff like that (now have to think up Cunning Pitches. Or indeed Cunning Stunts, as I and my sidekick used to joke oh so hilariously in one of my various press offices in the days when I had a proper job).

And DD1 is so under the cosh that when we came back on Sunday from DD2's jazz gig we found her and her boyfriend...revising at the kitchen table.ShockShockShock

motherinferior · 23/03/2017 14:16

Oh and I came here to find out about home birth 14 years ago possibly to the day. And it is thanks to MN that I produced DD2 in a pool in our front room.GrinGrinGrin

herbaceous · 23/03/2017 14:25

LOL. MI - did you fall asleep half way through your sentence?

motherinferior · 23/03/2017 14:36

An Errant Digit, Herbs.Wink

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/03/2017 14:43

I think we had our first meet up in 2011 on the South Bank? I had had a night of Champagne and snogging in the Groucho Club and couldn't face alcohol.

Think woman in next bed has died but my mother is too self absorbed to notice.

motherinferior · 23/03/2017 15:08

MrsS. ONLY YOUR MUM.

NUFC69 · 23/03/2017 15:41

Mouth agape at MrsS's self absorbed DM. I am glad you are bearing up, or something. MI, have you fully recovered from your prang? And I hope the new plan with DS gets off the ground, BTM.

When I had my DC - whispers - we didn't even have computers. And I have very fond memories of 'Revenge of the Mutant Camels' which I played on the Commodore 64. DD found MN when she was pregnant and I joined shortly after, dipping my toe in the water with the Squad about three years ago.

The incident in London yesterday has reminded me of the IRA bombing campaign in the 70s when DH was working in central London and I never knew whether he would get home. Communication was only via telephone boxes and non existent once he got to Liverpool Street.

Crem, I love the little black cat.

IDismyname · 23/03/2017 16:59

I went and purchased £20.00 (£XX) of interiors magazines yesterday, so I too, have some 'professional' magazine reading to accomplish this afternoon. Got to work out how to merge my cherry pink velvet sofas with my milk churn lighting... Or Whatevs...

MrsS - I feel awful laughing at your descriptions of your DM - partly because she is obviously really ill, and secondly because we should really be cheering YOU up... But please keep posting

IDismyname · 23/03/2017 17:23

Just collected this from Sainsburys - Spring Jacket
It is lovely - but comes up big - size down. Its selling fast!

Back to magazine reading...

wordassociationfootball · 23/03/2017 17:29

My mum has been moved from neuro to geriatric ward. Progress. Thought it was rather off that neuro ward had a clock that said it was 11th of March all week.

The woman opposite my mum is having lots of urgent phone calls....on her transistor radio. Mum is grappling with tea in a sippy cup. Not too dusty for someone who was 80% likely to die in the last week.

Didn't Swedes start the first hag's thread? Think I first came on MN in 2002

Lalsy · 23/03/2017 18:00

WAF, progress indeed.

That's rubbish about the clock though. says the woman who when her dh was asked the date as part of a head injury assessment, helpfully supplied the answer. Did I get a withering look before the nurse moved on to the Prime Minister.

MrsS, how, just how?

After a slightly unproductive day, I have just dropped my laptop on my toe. Jeez. But I multitasked - hopping and swearing.

IDismyname · 23/03/2017 18:33

Oh WAF - Yes, progress!

So how are YOU doing? Hope you're going to have a long lie down and a few Wine or Gin

GiddyGiddyGoat · 23/03/2017 20:32

Hi Lovely Crepies,
I'm sooooo tired and for no good reason really. Need to go to bed at a decent time i think - I often get my second wind around bedtime and stay up reading then feel exhausted again in the morning... not very clever.

My dcs are bickering in a wearing way - the novelty of being home has worn off for ds1 who has turned his energies to winding up his brother. Very tedious.

TGIF tomorrow.

I am home, exhausted and shouty. My criteria for dinner were that it should be hot, and not a sandwich. And, it goes without saying, not cooked by me. How difficult is that? DH now huffily putting together fresh filled pasta (bought, he is not rolling the dough and stuffing it) and a sauce of some description.
