Monty, I use Nivea day and night.

Well, I say night, but not much sleep is going on. Things are not going well with DS and I'm struggling, frankly. Oh for the days when my only worries were if we were going to get a call from one of his teachers about his gobbiness in their lesson!

MrsWobble3 · 16/03/2017 07:32

WAF, I thought of you yesterday - I was in a very long meeting sitting next to someone who had to keep popping out to get medical updates on his mum. He was struggling with differences of opinion with his sister - he wanted to get the medical records sent to the top specialist for each issue for advice whereas his sister wanted to listen to the gp and consider all of the issues in the round. I think this illustrates a common male/female difference - whether you view things like this as a series of problems to be solved or a situation to be managed. And in my (admittedly very limited) observation of relationship breakdown this difference often seems to be at play.

Hope you continue to manage the situation WAF.

IDismyname · 16/03/2017 07:44

BTM So sorry things aren't good with DS. Feel free to use us...

WAF Thinking of you.

They have expanded our Sainsburys recently to include lots more clothing. Any recommendations clothes-wise?

I've bought a few summery linen shirts, but not much else.

Off tomorrow to shlep up to Kingston to see my old hairdresser. Been toying with the idea for a month or so. If you don't hear from me after tomorrow, I'll be lost in the one way system.

motherinferior · 16/03/2017 08:40

I have been using Nivea at night too, though I'm not absolutely sure about it at the moment. It's so marvellously cheap though, yet charmingly retro. Skincare is mostly such damn smoke and mirrors. I've also picked up some of that nice Superdrug hot cloth cleanser which is a Liz Earlealike for a fiver.

BTM, I am so sorry. What a nightmare.

WAF, thinking of you all.

I must attempt a spot of work. I have a new fiction editing project which may be sweated
labour but is a new sort of project for me and one I'm keen to branch into.

addle · 16/03/2017 08:49

BTM, so sorry

WAF, thinking of you, Sheila and family

Good luck, Cloud

Off to visit ILs for a few days with DH. if any weather like this sunshine will be glorious. if not, we'll still get to see the sea

Stropps - damn you. Pop goes the weasel now embedded.

Hattie - embarrassing huns Smile - what is it about my spell check that considered that more likely??

Lalsy · 16/03/2017 08:49

BTM, so sorry to hear that. Might you need some time off work? I know it isn't what you want...Flowers.

Cloud, little gulp here about the hand holding......WAF, thinking of you too ...don't feel you have to update us if you would rather talk about other stuff.

Love crepetoire and the great witter debate. And Rose, I love your posts. I actually think wittering is important - it gives us a break from the big, grim, worrying stuff in the company of people who know why we are doing it and do not patronise or diminish as a result. Tis soothing.

I haven't got a clothes Sainsbos especially handy but might venture to one given all the reports - so yes any recommendations? I can't remember what I wear when come of my winter uniform uniqlo thermals.

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/03/2017 09:06

Thanks to Addle's crepertoire, my ear worm of the morning is 'Everybody wants to be a cat."

NUFC69 · 16/03/2017 09:07

Greetings from Alrewas! Coincidentally when you lot were wittering about music, we were sat in a pub having steak, chips and Merlot, and listening to Frank Ifield. Now I can't get it out of my mind - I remember yooooo!

Cloud, good luck today. WAF, thinking about you and Sheila. BTM, so sorry to hear that DS isn't doing well at the moment - yes, time off might not be a bad idea. Rose, I love your posts, too (and I think I am witterer in chief).

We have been here since Sunday and are having fantastic weather. DSis and her DH are here, too, until tonight and, tbh, we have been doing too much so my knee is now like a football - peace and quiet, I think, until we go home on Sunday. Yesterday we went to the National Memorial Arboretum which is stunning and sad in equal measure, but well worth a visit.

Off for a leisurely swim to see if that helps my knee.

Lalsy · 16/03/2017 09:24

Ooooh NU, I would love to go to the Arboretum.

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 16/03/2017 09:29

Sorry to hear about ds and associated lack of sleep, BTM...... It's bloody gruelling and I'm not surprised that you feel you are not coping.

Could everyone stop talking about the lovely weather. I'm in a massive damp fog here....

IDismyname · 16/03/2017 10:24

Lalsy Spot on about being able to witter on... And on... (That's me I'm referring to!)

IDismyname · 16/03/2017 10:25

Yeah, Beachy not very spring like here either Sad

IDismyname · 16/03/2017 10:25

Oops Beachy

magimedi · 16/03/2017 10:40

Fog nearly cleared on this side of Beachy, Beachy Grin

hattymattie · 16/03/2017 11:38

BTM - so sorry things have not improved. Was hoping decent exam results would have been a turning point. You must really be feeling it. Hope you get a break soon.

Cloud - hope you make it to your hair appointment. I asked the hairdresser to leave my hair experimentally longer last time. Needless to say it has taken off in all directions - why can it not just swish in an orderly fashion?

Absolutely beautiful day here it said 19 in the car although I think that's because it was parked in the sun.

Still feeling abnormally sleepy inspite of having slept well unlike several crepies. I blame it on the menopause!

Cremolafoam · 16/03/2017 12:13

Drench and close here ( giving you my full knowledge of the Ulster Scots dialect this morning)
Bullfinch, still at it. Must have a headache by now. In other bird news I have spotted a minuscule pair of goldcrests nipping urgently about a pine tree.I am very cheered by this.

Off into town today to look at clothes.nothing I own fits properly anymore as am bloated and puffy.Sad

BTM, so sorry for another setback. You must be wrung out, you poor thing

Stropps, glad to make you laugh. Yes meetup on 25th next weekend. Not sure where it is, but Lalsy will tell us in a moment I think. Be great to have you among us.
I've got University challenge theme tune in my head now. Sorry.

Lalsy · 16/03/2017 12:49

How are you feeling physically, Crem? any better?

Stropps, will PM you!

Stropperella · 16/03/2017 13:01

Thanks, Lalsy! I've just booked my train tickets. Yay!

Lalsy · 16/03/2017 13:04

Wooohoo.

Cremolafoam · 16/03/2017 13:32

Lalsy would be mind sending it to me please. MY brain has offloaded the information somewhere. Sorry.

I was sent this by 'a friend' today. Ahem
"ULTRACREPIDARIAN - a person who criticises, judges, or gives advice outside the area of his or her expertise. "
That'll be me then.Grin

hattymattie · 16/03/2017 16:12

Lalsy - please could you PM me too. Also could I ask for a portable phone number incase I come adrift.

motherinferior · 16/03/2017 16:16

Lalsy, I can't remember the details either

Well, charities that don't want me out of hand can sod off. Have a chat with another tomorrow about a bit of work - small gig, probably won't get it, but nice to know that just sending in my CV can have results.

wordassociationfootball · 16/03/2017 16:40

Hatty - Iron levels? For sleepy biz, not lack of uni-directional swish.

BTM - am so bloody sorry. What do we even DO when we're not coping? There should be a button you can press and people should rush in and just put you in a coccoon for a bit.

I am non parlay on the big thing.

However, I will tell you I bought a gorgeous top in Primarni near the hosp, and am considering waxing my lip. This two things are unrelated. Caught it in the sun (sorry Beachy :) ) and it needs proper dealing with.

Talk To The Animals (Addle) and Everybody wants to be a Cat (Mrs S) Love 'em.

That' s interesting Mrs Wobble about the man and his sib and the mother's treatment. Mum's situation is fortunately quite cut and dried. Sis and I are on the same page, thank goodness, we info share and are grateful and I hope easy to deal with and pragmatic.

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/03/2017 16:41

Does anyone want to meet up during the day on 25th?

(This comes to you from the toilet at work where I am currently hiding.)

Sad Too much work...

wordassociationfootball · 16/03/2017 17:07

No singing Mrs S - they'll know you're in there.
