Fine hair holy grail and believe me i don't say that lightly

holy mother of god this stuff is brilliant! leaves my hair soft, thicker looking and shiny with plenty of grip - all the best qualities of a glosser, mousse and the metric shit ton of dry shampoo i usually use Grin in one fab product. My fine, long, grease prone hair can go days without washing using this stuff. seriously, it's the best thing i have ever used on my hair - and i've used a lot.

Baa sheep. As it's on ocado, it would be rude not to. I have about 12 bottles of unused hair products but always looking for the holy grail for greasy hair. Will update tomorrow.

MargotsDevil · 28/02/2017 16:11

Off to try this. Although I find the Fibrology Air to be the best shampoo/conditioner/serum combo I've ever used - getting lots of comments on how good my hair is looking and I'm not even having to rotate it the way I normally do.

Botanicbaby · 28/02/2017 16:37

Glitterkitten Grin

I'm SO dying to try this too but I've got a zillion other products recommended on this very board to use up first! My fine hair will just have to stay fine & lacklustre.

Eminybob · 28/02/2017 18:06

I've just bought some! Will update tomorrow

Pollyanna9 · 28/02/2017 18:37

Just ordered two for £9 at Superdrug. See how we go.

My hair looks fab on day 1 when I style it with my Babyliss rotating blow dry brush wotsit (I think the Big Hair that notnowfrank refers to).

When I wake up the next day I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards and my hair is TOTALLY flat beyond words. Literally the only thing would be to wash it again and blow dry it again.

I don't know what's happened, it used to last for several days and look as perfect when I woke up as when I went to bed (that was ten years ago mind). Maybe the tossing and turning and throwing the duvet on and off due to menopausal night sweats has something to do with it!!

OverthinkingSpartacus · 28/02/2017 22:50

Used mine yesterday, not really so keen on the smell, I dried my hair as usual and there's def results. If I dried it in sections with a proper barrel brush etc it would look great.

Hairs feels nice, soft and bouncy, looks great even with just random blow drying. Does not feel like it has product on.

Usually have to wash hair everyday as it gets greasy but I'm skipping washing it today as it still looks really fresh.

I can put up with the smell for the results :)

lemonylemons · 01/03/2017 09:51

Bought this yesterday, tried it this morning and so far I'm really impressed! Hair looks bouncy and full, feels soft and was easy to style. Many thanks for the tip, OP!

KnitFastDieWarm · 01/03/2017 10:02

so glad people like it! i am usually very disappointed by hair products so wasn't expecting much, but i was so happy with the result i had to share with my fellow fine haired folks.

i may have bought some vosene to try the other day Blush - dh said 'i didn't know you had dandruff!' and i had to explain this thread to him Grin

Going to give this a go despite a very expensive kerastase mousse languishing upstairs!

Also would recommend this - pal has lovely swishy hair and swears by this, am loving it so far and cheap as chips

Neither my local Boots of Tesco had it in stock so resorted to Amazon. Arriving on Friday just in time for a night out on Saturday. Will report back...

FreeButtonBee · 01/03/2017 22:36

Right initial impressions are pretty good. Although I do go for a more tousled look to my hair these days so it was not quite my everyday look. That said, y heart feels v soft and non greasy even after a full day of commuting/Pilates class/drinks out. Will see if it survives the day two hair test but pretty good so far. I may not use it every day but that would be a styling issue rather than a results issue.

NapoleonsNose · 02/03/2017 21:08

Mine arrived early so I've given it a go tonight. My hair feels nice and smooth, and is quite bouncy and full. I didn't do a proper blow dry but initial impressions are good. Will have a go at styling properly at the weekend. My only negative is the smell, it's just a little bit too perfumed for me.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 02/03/2017 23:23

Mine's arrived but I am not around so I'll ask dh to try it. He has fine hair.

Or I'll maybe wait until the weekend Grin

WhataHexIgotinto · 03/03/2017 07:05

I've been using this for a few months now and I love it. My hair is hideously fine and this stuff really does the trick for me and it doesn't make my hair feel crunchy! I get it with my Tesco delivery every few weeks.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 05/03/2017 13:10

I've tried it now and while I agree the smell is old fashioned and a bit unpleasant it is brilliant! I used a bit less today and that seems to make it less smelly. Equally I might just be getting used to it.

I think with the Vosene shampoo it may be too much - my hair felt quite dry - but I will experiment with the two to see what works. It may be that I've just forgotten what it's like not to have limp, lank hair after 24 hours and need a better condition for the lengths or to rotate my shampoos.

One thing I did notice, is that the shorter, wispy bits of hair near my ears stuck out at right angles Shock so I'll need to play with it a bit, either in the distribution or styling, to fix that!

I definitely lifts the roots but without the crispness of a traditional mousse. I'm going to have my hair cut a bit shorter (currently bra strap length) and I think this will really help with styling as well as extra day freshness.

It's StarStarStarStar and a half from me. Just the smell that lets it down.

StealthPolarBear · 05/03/2017 14:34

I tried it today and didn't really notice anything (other than te usual mousse crispiness).
I rubbed it in then blow fired my hair. Did I do something wrong?

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 05/03/2017 14:43

Have you got the exact same one as the photo Stealth? There are 3 that look very similar when I was picking mine from what was on Ocado.

I think I need to use a blob of serum or shine spray too because it is quite drying. I used a tiny less today and didn't blow dry my hair upside down at all and that seems to have helped with the ear wings.

MrsDesperado · 05/03/2017 14:43

Same here Stealth
My hair is still limp/thin/fine.
Must be doing something wrong too

jenniuol · 05/03/2017 14:59

This made no difference to my hair at all 😔 In fact if anything it made it more lank than normal. Agree the smell is quite strong although I thought it was quite nice.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 05/03/2017 15:04

Oh that's a shame :( :(

scorpio1981 · 05/03/2017 15:06

I had a friend who did a chemistry course at Uni and he said if we knew what went into some shampoos especially a certain dandruff one, we would never use them so I switched to horse shampoo - Gallop for Chestnuts and Palominos given my hair colour. Wonderful stuff and really gives volume like no other shampoo I've used. It also doesn't make my hair fall out unlike human shampoo which means a great deal to me given my very fine wavy hair . Available at all good equine suppliers and online, I can highly recommend it along with Mane & Tail or NAF for Show Ponies.

fuckkit · 05/03/2017 15:13

Another sheep here...baaaaaa

Bought it and used it but it's made my hair feel fine and lank. It's soft and the mousse has a nice scent but I'll be switching back to my usual Toni & Guy volume spray stuff.

StealthPolarBear · 05/03/2017 15:23

Yes I checked the coloured bit at the bottom and it matched and said 'volume '.
Mines not made my hair any worse and I do like the smell. But it's no more volume than when I blow dry it I don't thibk.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 05/03/2017 16:34

Maybe you'll get another day or two out of the blow dry? Or maybe it's just not for you.

How disappointing for you :(

StealthPolarBear · 05/03/2017 18:29

I wash my hair every day tbh. I will use it, I have scalp psoriasis and find that strangely products etc help
