Hi, what does everyone think of the hush new season? I've ordered a few bits to try, a couple of their basic raglan l/s tops, the dungarees (not sure!) and the lightening bolt dress and shirt, just wondered if anyone else had had a look yet? Smile

Stripey tara was delivered today. I'm disappointed. I love the one from last season, which always gets loads of compliments. But the v is far too open and flappy for me - since I lost weight a higher neckline looks much better on me - and the skirt part is also too big. Also my instincts were right about breton, it does absolutely nothing for my olive skin it didn't stop me ordering though. Hmm

neveradullmoment99 · 23/02/2017 22:07

I am not sure i look that great in the tara dress. I am pear shaped and have a bit of a mum tum and really wasnt sure about it when i ordered it in green in the winter. I think they look lovely and smart casual. I am especially loving the black one because of the v-neck as i think i prefer it but I dont think i really suit the style being a pear shape. Does anyone else not suit it or is it just me? Doesnt stop me wanting to order it. Thing is, I have the ruched black skirt and not sure that is that great on me. Strangely i have the longer one from the winter season and it looks great on me!!!! It comes right down to my knees. Is the tara longer this season? It looks slightly longer on the model.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/02/2017 22:09

I had the marble tee on today with a long sleeved tee under it. I enjoyed wearing it Grin
Keeping away from the website just now. It is ooooh so tempting!

SesameSparkle · 23/02/2017 22:28

Well I wasn't convinced about the tara at all, the first couple of times I tried it. But strangely that all changed when I started wearing it. I'm a very different body shape though - apple - so the skirt is very flattering on me as it emphasises my slimmest part.

CountFosco · 23/02/2017 22:38

My dresses arrived today. Love the neckline on the Tara, absolutely perfect. Just wish it wasn't in black but I'll probably keep it and I think the sleeves need rolling up, they are a bit long (or maybe it's just me enjoying the look of my arms now I've lost a bit of weight and can see my muscles [smug]). The colour of the Venice beach dress is gorgeous (if the Tara was that colour I'd be a very happy bunny) but not sure about the elasticated waistband. Tried it on with a wide belt and it looked OK but think the Tara is probably going to be a bit more flexible. Will sleep on it.

Bet Hush are loving this thread, how much market research and advertising are they getting for free!

neveradullmoment99 · 23/02/2017 23:14

Yes, they should all give us a voucher/extra discount ha ha..Grin

CountFosco · 23/02/2017 23:14

You'd think so. But there are endless threads on MN about M&S and where they are going wrong on their women's fashion. All full of great ideas. And M&S don't take a blind bit of notice Hmm .

Maybe HUsh are smarter.....

neveradullmoment99 · 24/02/2017 11:30

...and what i would say to them is, what the quality of your items. I ordered the khaki military shirt and the price is outrageous!!! £67!!!! A shirt like that should be no more than £45 at today's standard. There is really nothing special about it. Also the price of the marble dress!!! - its a long t-shirt!!! For nearly £80???? Hush hope you are listening...

neveradullmoment99 · 24/02/2017 11:31

..and on a plus, i think some of their dresses like the tara are perfectly priced.

Pottedplants · 24/02/2017 13:02

The long sleeved linen tee is also priced ridiculously at 45 pounds. I can't believe people pay that for such a poor quality mediocre t shirt. Hush must be laughing!

neveradullmoment99 · 24/02/2017 18:36

Yes, agreed. I have not ordered it because of the price. It looks terribly thin and i have had their linen tees before and find them thin and with time go quite bobbly.

Laska5772 · 24/02/2017 18:52

Actually I love the linen T shirts! Fab shap, not too thin ( although the olive does look a bit see through on the model) and yes a bit on the pricey side but I didnt think they are Toooo expensive having bought a couple of linen vest Ts before in Tkmaxx before at £25 (which are fab and have lasted me years).

However at sz 14/16 on top (big boobs sadly) the Large linen T is huge.. I have just come back from a few days away and the Medium I ordered are here. I will try them on over the weekend and report back..

One thing I am annoyed about though is that I was in a big John Lewis today and didnt think to have a look at the Hush section 'in the flesh'..(twit)

neveradullmoment99 · 24/02/2017 19:02

I was in a john lewis before xmas and couldnt find any hush there at all. Yet it was quite a big store. Got me thinking that maybe they didnt stock it. I would also quite like to see Hush things in reality.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/02/2017 19:05

I suppose with linen, it can be expensive when you consider the likes of Poetry or Wrap London / Toast the prices are astronomical. I still have my eye on the blue one. I have my marble tee on again today - different long sleeved tee under it. I absolutely love it to death but it is quite thin. I ordered the tara dress [ both actually to see if i liked either] will most definetly return one or both. Temptation got me Blush

missfliss · 24/02/2017 19:15

I actually bought 2 linen tees in blush and blue. Really like them, the boxy shape, and slim arms and centre back seam make them hang perfectly. I am very happy with the colours.

I do feel a bit of a numpty though as I think they are about £10 too pricey for what they are. In my defence they were 10% off...still too expensive

missfliss · 24/02/2017 19:18

Weird though because some of their stuff is really good value. A lot however is a good 10-20% overpriced.
I think they are basics but elevated in cut and fabric sometimes, and they are very adept at marketing to their target audience.

I basically want to be a Hush model.

Sadly apart from having fair skin and brown hair, that's where the resemblence ends.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/02/2017 19:30

I want to be the hush model too...
At 49, it aint happening!

Needastrongone · 24/02/2017 20:00

I agree, the prices vary. The Tara dresses and ruched skirts etc are good value (for me anyway, as the quality is great and I wear them tons, they wash well and don't need ironing etc). Some of the jumpers are way over priced. However the harem pants another great buy.

I didn't think the linen tees desperately over priced. But not fab value either, something in the middle I guess. Some of the cotton tees much more over priced for the thin fabric. But some not (the lightening bolt tee is cheaper and thicker than the marble tee). I guess it varies so much it's probably best to order on free delivery and return if required, or at least check the reviews.

£20 for a bra seems fine too, strange!

missfliss · 24/02/2017 20:29

I'm hoping they do a V neck Tara in some new colours later in the season.
I really like the look of it, but black drains me ( unless I'm very tanned, and that only happens once a decade!).
So Hush, if you are reading this, I'd love a v neck Tara in a range of new colours please. I don't suit higher necklines so Venice Beach no good.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/02/2017 21:52

The tara would look lovely in that red they have the other dress in. Think its called the venice beach dress. Looks a washed out red on my laptop but in their catalogue/leaflet, it looks gorgeous.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/02/2017 21:52

My mum said i always wear black. Think it has become a thing lately with me.

neveradullmoment99 · 25/02/2017 13:03

So both the striped version of the tara and the black version came. I actually really like them both. The thing is though, I cant see me wearing the striped one until the summer and it will just lie in my cupboard until then.Unless i can wear it with black tights and boots? Would that look a bit odd? I feel the white makes it look summery. I like the black but black is well black. Its a nice shape but the black and white is beautifully fresh.

neveradullmoment99 · 25/02/2017 13:05

Funnily enough the shape is far more balanced for me this season with the v-neck.
