Hi, what does everyone think of the hush new season? I've ordered a few bits to try, a couple of their basic raglan l/s tops, the dungarees (not sure!) and the lightening bolt dress and shirt, just wondered if anyone else had had a look yet? Smile

I am a 12 and a small or medium is the best fit on me. With tees - a small usually. With skirts a mostly a medium mostly because i have a mum tum. With their trousers most of them are 10's except for their jeans and i wear a 12. With dresses sometimes a small, sometimes a medium - its hard to tell although i look closely at the shape and the material and how it looks on the model. If in doubt i wait for a review!!!! For skirts like the the wrap one, go with your usual size [ or order both and return one]

Thank you Flowers

Reporting back on second round of purchases after sent Piper dress back:

Short sleeve sloppy joe in black: I think I love this but just need to make sure. It's very laid back chic

Blush v-neck tee: gorgeous tee as always, blush really not my colour though!

Denim Shorts: ahem, very small. Going back. Less said the better!

Pottedplants · 21/02/2017 18:30

I have only received a black racer back vest top so far. I have it in white and while they are expensive, they fit me well. Am waiting for jeans and a blue linen style top but no sign of them yet. I'm hoping they won't suit as I'm trying not to spend much on clothes.

Summerholidayblues · 21/02/2017 18:32

I agree on the Lisbon. I'm a 12/14 in the normal non-Hush world and the 12 was the right size, just not flattering on me but no size of this style would have been!

Relaxing trousers are going back as I need a 10.

Summerholidayblues · 21/02/2017 18:34

I'm all about the second round of purchases too. Maybe the weird sizing is just a clever way to make us need to order again and spend more!

whirlygirly · 21/02/2017 18:46

I have the Grecian dress and the reversible Stella star jumper.

Love love love the jumper although the labels are sewn in ridiculously tightly for something designed to be reversible. I bet there's a lot of women cursing as they've sliced a chunk out of it. I still have 4 tiny label pieces left which is equally irritating.

The Grecian dress is pretty flimsy, shapeless and possibly the most unflattering item I have ever tried on. Ds actually winced when he saw me. It added 3 stone and took off 3 inches in height.

SesameSparkle · 21/02/2017 18:58

Well my order hasn't arrived yet...... Hmm Ordered last Wednesday, dispatch email on Thursday said delivery next 2-3 days (which would mean today if measuring by the longest possible timescale.... Sad). Royal mail tracking just says it arrived yesterday in some distribution centre far, far away from here.... I want my dress! So I can put in my second round of orders.....

SesameSparkle · 21/02/2017 19:00

whirly how's the sizing of the Stellar jumper?

Needastrongone · 21/02/2017 19:22

Gosh, not great with orders then. They seem to give me priority next day for free at the minute, wonder if it's 'cos of my spending there...my order tonight is being delivered tomorrow..

A lot of which goes back though tbf.....

Fruitcocktail6 · 21/02/2017 19:24

I used the £10 code and got one of the starry jumpers, I'm going to collect it from the post office tomorrow!

Kr1stina · 21/02/2017 19:26

swimming I was tempted by the sloppy joe - can I ask how long it is ? I find lots of the Hush jersey tops are too short for me. I like them down to my hip bones and not to my waist .

Swimminguphill · 21/02/2017 19:31

kr1stina it is quite short and boxy on me. Mid hip at most. I am 5'10" and evenly proportioned. It is tight on the arms, which I usually like with Hush but it shows off my biceps in a not entirely flattering way (a bit butch?) so I am still undecided about it. God I sound like a wrestler. I'm not! But I have got an athletic frame...

Kr1stina · 21/02/2017 19:32

whirly I have a thing about labels so am an expert on removing them Grin . You need one of these little gadgets and to unpick the stitching across the top of the satin label. Only used scissors to cut this thread and never the label.

seam ripper

Kr1stina · 21/02/2017 19:34

Thanks , swimming, sounds like it's no good for me then. I like them longer to hide my flab Blush

I am Envy of your toned frame and don't think that muscles are the least bit butch < peers at runners thighs>

Swimminguphill · 21/02/2017 19:37

Thanks kr1stina I'll take heart from that. I always struggle with sweatshirts and thought this might be the holy grail. It's not as forgiving as one might think and makes me think that the slouchy athleisure look is something only the willowy can really rock without looking like the Michelin man. I may post a pic for comments as if's the end of the day and I am feeling a bit glum

whirlygirly · 21/02/2017 19:44

Sesame - I'm a 12-14 and got m and it's fine - really flattering fit. I'm genuinely chuffed with it, the colours are perfect for me and I know I'll wear it loads.

Kr1stina - thank you! I need one, I'm hopeless with scissors and they've used pretty much the same thread colour as is in the jumper so you just can't see where to unpick.

Swimminguphill · 21/02/2017 19:45

Excuse the completely unflattering pjs, what do you think? A keeper? Or one for the Rock IV fancy dress opportunity?

SesameSparkle · 21/02/2017 20:07

fruit do they still do £10 codes, or do you mean 10%? Hmm

whirly thanks

need jealous of next day delivery - I'm close to getting bored now and going elsewhere....

FlindersKeepers · 21/02/2017 20:49

Ok here's my homework. Halo
Cropped harems I'm a 12 in most stores, I bought these in S, they fit great and come to just under my knees (am 1.64m/5ft 3.8ish), no idea where the truly small or tall get theirs.
Racer vest As expected, correct to size down to S due to shelf bra.
Tara Vee This time I did not get my usual M (I have 3 other Taras, two are short sleeved), I bought S because of the v neck. Wise choice, the v is quite low. If your boobs sit high, you may find this a tricky cut, so size down if that's the case. May be too short for many, on me it is a handwidth above the knee. Fabric is great, slightly heavier than last year's green but still summer weight. Can be worn cute or whooo hoooo HELLO. I'm smitten with it, looks great with my Lorna Jane aviator jacket.

When does the 10% run out? I want the marble top...

neveradullmoment99 · 21/02/2017 23:34

10% runs out on the 28th Feb I think :)
swimminguphill I think the top looks good :) It looks boxy but would be great with a variety of things - smart trousers, skirts or even jeans.

Kr1stina · 22/02/2017 01:52

Swimming I'm going to politely disagree with never a dull moment ( sorry ) and say that yes, I think it's too square on you, not helped by the crew neck and sleeve length. I think you'd be better with a top with a bit more movement .

I am top heavy and by best necklines are scoop and V necks and boat necks are OK. What works best for you ?

I also avoid short sleeves as I feel they cut my arms at their widest point and draw a horizontal line across my body at my boobs - also my widest point. I prefer long or 3/4 sleeves or sleeveless . Elbow length at a push but it's not my favourite .

I am so fussy, no wonder I return so much stuff Blush

Swimminguphill · 22/02/2017 08:38

Thanks neveradullmoment and kr1stina this is all really useful! Never had such a clear analysis Kr1stina! I love the hush v-neck tees as the neckline cuts up the broadest part of my shoulders and the sleeves as slightly angled. I never thought about short sleeves cutting across my widest bit before and that is so helpful. I also find something that shows my waist gives a better silhouette as I am broad both across shoulders and hips (but have no bum at all hence why I don't fit any body 'type' and do it is all very hit and miss). If not, you are right it needs to be more floaty.

Kr1stina · 22/02/2017 10:15

No necessarily floaty , just more drapey and have more movement. Floaty makes me think of chiffon < shudders> , I meant more like linen or jersey. It's partly fabric and partly the cut.

I am very Envy of you having a waist, I've never had one, even pre kids and when I was very skinny . I defo being showing it off if I had one .

If you are have shoulders and boobs and hips, aren't you a bum less hourglass ?
