Hi, what does everyone think of the hush new season? I've ordered a few bits to try, a couple of their basic raglan l/s tops, the dungarees (not sure!) and the lightening bolt dress and shirt, just wondered if anyone else had had a look yet? Smile

I got the Venice beach dress in Anemone today and it's going straight back. Lovely colour (I wish they'd do the Tara in this colour) and the top half sat well but the skirt just made my legs look fat (and they really really aren't). Will order the black Tara when I get paid next week and just cross my fingers it doesn't sell out in the meantime.

I've also fallen for the dungarees but I know without even trying them that they'd look terrible on me so shall just lust from afar.

I ordered the Striped Tara in a medium and I like it but it was too big on the top. Was going to re order it in the small but when DH saw it in he said he didn't like it.

The Amy joggers were not great on me and not really my usual style anyway but I was tempted to try something new.

I absolutely adore the Cerys Shirred dress and it will be perfect for my holiday but I can't get the doubts out of my head about the quality. I paid £108 with the discount and it is just very flimsy material. I really don't want to send it back but I do think it's over priced.

Also my little postcard with the discount code on said free delivery and returns but the returns label doesn't say free post or anything so I'm worried I'll be charged for sending quite a heavy box when I take it to the post office! I'll have to phone Hush on Monday but did anyone else have the same problem?

DoorsAndWater · 19/02/2017 09:52

Angels - I had this problem yesterday at the post office! I'd stuck the wrong label on! Make sure you use the one in the box that is larger with a big R on it, the post office scanned it and it was a free return, the smaller returns label was going to cost me 12.95 Hmm

What are the jeans like? I need a 34 inch leg and not many brands do that.

Honestly wish I'd never heard of Hush, it's dangerous for me. It really is my style, and is I think a little overpriced. It's expensive and cut well ( like the shorts being cut on the bias to hang better for example) - but probably on average about £10 too much per piece,

I have bought a LOT from this collection and this will be my spending for the year done now apart from summer sandals - but that's a while new thread.

So, I have bought:

Daphne tops x 2 in white and black
Very good quality, good heavy fabric, perfect length for me @5'6" and I love the deep back - just elevates them. These will go brilliantly with smart work trews or jeans. I have the ecru weave jacket already and these will be great with those, as well as the silk joggers I bought from finery last year. Really pleased.

Boyfriend jeans in size 12
Yesterday to arrive - hope are good after all the hype. £75 is the most I have ever spent in jeans so they have to earn their place.

raw edge linen tees in blue and blush
Arriving tomorrow. I think this is what hush does well. These are very simple tops but the cut and fabric elevates them. I've not worn this shape before, but hoping the narrow arms and boxy body will look ok on my slightly overweight frame

white slug tee with gold stars
I have the grey with gold stripes from last year, and really happy with it. The bias cut and slightly longer length and side gaps just make it so much nicer than my other Tshirts, will happily wear to work with smart trews and jackets

Ah two typos in the above - shirts not shorts cut on bias, and white slub tee not slug tee ( boak)

Thank you Doors - I'll have another hunt around in the box for a different label Smile. Just tried the shirred dress on again and my 8 year old DD told me I look fat in it Confused so back it's going. Bank account breaths a huge sigh of relief.

never they dont seem to be as see-through as in the photos .. but they are a bit.. the photos show the olive one especially see-through. I have the yellow and blue , (blue is realy nice)

I will probably wear a thin cami under it if i am going to wear it for work though ..I got the L originally but but am now going for the med. If you are a 12 I reckon the small would be about right ..

(my problem is always in the nork area sadly so I usually size up )

The clothes look good but I am always a bit wary of Hush quality - experience tells me to steer clear of the wool knitwear (though the cotton stuff wears well).

For those on the lookout for them, I recently bought these dungarees from H&M and the top sits better than the Hush ones (don't like their dipped bib): www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0454431002.html

Less than half the price, also!

The quality of the jeans and the dungarees are good. As are their trousers - the more formal ones. I don't really know what their joggers are like. Even although the t-shirts look like they wont wear well, they actually keep their shape really well. I have been disappointed with the quality of a few items. Namely the florence dress - so cheaply made and badly stitched. Also the raglan sleeve tops - think they go a bit shapeless in the wash. I have some of their jumpers. They seem fine to me and I have washed and worn them loads. I do think that the price of their items is a lot for what they are. However i like how they put things together. It all seems quite stylish and i dont need to think too much about it.
Laska thanks for that. Tempted by the blue but feel I have spent enough so when i am a bit more flush will purchase the small in the long sleeved tee in blue - if it is still available.

Can i ask what kind of blue it is? Its not turquoise is it? That is just not a colour that I like. Is it a bit like the Iris blue that they did last summer?

I've bought 2 of the sweatshirts- lightening bolt and the love one and a little no line long sleeved T. V happy with them.

Would buy a fair amount of the t's and jumpers. Quite a few dresses I like.

Have never bought their hareems - what are they like? (I have a big bottom- size 14).

Hi all, another Hush fan here, have just read the thread. I am tempted by:
Basket Stitch jacket in blue
Stretch crop slim trousers
Was looking at the Piper dress but don't fancy a see-through white, not sure about black either
V Neck Tara dress in black...I tried the long sleeve version and returned it, felt the body was a bit short and if I pulled it up to get the waistband hidden, the skirt was too short.

Ollycat I am a 12-14 and I wear the harems in size Small. I have them in black and khaki and they wash incredibly well. I love them.

Of the jumpers, I have found the Essential crew neck goes 'old' after the first wash. However, the Adele jumpers, once I remember to hand wash them, are just fine.

The Dolman sloppy Joes are another fave, I have three and I think they are all different sizes as I picked them up in the sales.

The Greenwich Trainers (white with silver stars) have now appeared on the site. More than I'm prepared to spend at this point but they are nice. Had a quick look around but I haven't spotted anything else new yet.

Right, I have had my delivery and here are some thoughts. Firstly, there are still significant creasing issues with the deliveries and I am going to email customer services (but won't get anywhere tbh). I am also really very tiny, 5ft and 7.5 stone, which provides context hopefully!

Keeping:
Tara dress in black. Just lovely and surprisingly flattering for black. Lots of opportunity to add some really unusual accessories.
Stripe Tara dress. Just as lovely, and I really want to keep, but I am not sure I can justify both. Possibly too much 'stripe' in one dress.
Venice beach dress - I thought that this is good quality for the price. Lovely colour. Fits well. May be short for taller folk?
Selena Frayed jumper. Definitely a summer jumper as quite thin. Short fitting if relevant, perfect for me. Nice quality I thought. Happy to buy using the discount, but the usual caveats apply re Hush pricing. Versatile I feel.
Lightening Bolt Tee Fab T Shirt. Definite keeper. Quite slim fitting. Not the thickest of material for the price but not unreasonably so.
Crystal wrap bracelet Lovely, and £13.50 with discount. It's navy, not black for clarity.

Not keeping.
Monaco trousers Get good reviews, but they swamp me personally. Very soft material. Not sure if they would crease. They would be exceptionally comfortable for sure.
Marble Jersey Tee I really liked this. Fits true to size of XS. It's just so thin, you can see your bra. I wanted this for summer day time but would have to wear a cami underneath, then I would be too hot. Shame. Might be okay for evening though.
Cotton slub tee Super colour. Thin material for price. Liked but didn't love enough to justify £25 on a tee.
Ombre Sweat top. Amazing colour, lovely material. But baggy on me, and not the fitted sleeves I like on the Dolman.
Raglan striped tee I might keep, but I think I've seen similar in FC for much better quality and cheaper. Fits true to size and I do like it.
Jersey blazer Just not for me really and would get enough wear.

Hope that helps. I also have the Azalea dress in black for last season and I bet the brown is lovely.

Anyone tried the Lisbon wrap skirt?

Report
Summerholidayblues · 21/02/2017 15:47

Yes, I tried the Lisbon. I like the print - although I didn't notice that it's blue not black. The shape is nice but I found it too clingy around my stomach and highlighted that it sticks out! But on a different shape it would look great - it is just my stomach is my worst bit...

Needastrongone · 21/02/2017 15:59

Grin@ Flinders. I really want to keep the tee to be fair...

I have emailed CS while sitting having a quick cuppa to highlight how creased my order was, and that the boxes were damaged and open...

Also asked if any ruched skirts or Dolman sweats will appear this season.

And ordered some underwear, the bra's are pretty cheap but look like they are for the less well endowed, support wise.

The underwear is tiny. Great if you are really small busted. Absolutely awful if you are higher than a B cup imo. Not even sure a B cup would do it - maybe an A!. They are beautiful and was disappointed but no use on me.
I have the marble tee. I didnt notice it was see through but then I had a nude bra under it. I do love it though.

Needastrongone · 21/02/2017 17:28

I'm not even a B cup, so that's fine by me!

I'm off to try the tee on again, I do love it too.
