Went to John Lewis yesterday to do a bit of a recce on the new collection as I really wasn't impressed with anything in A/W 2016 one.
Plus I was a bit wary re: quality - black leggings I bought last Spring went distinctly downhill pretty quickly (colour washed out after only a few washes, seams started to come apart). NOT impressed as they were £25 (well, OK, I bought them with a 10% discount, so really paid £22.5 but STILL
).
Wasn't impressed by lots of knitwear even though all the stars dotted around look lovely. I have a feeling it would all go shapeless after a wash or two. Still tempted by Starbright Jumper as JL (Edinburgh) didn't have it in stock.
I like having ribbed cuffs/ribbed waistband on jumpers and the only Hush one that seems to have this looks like a shapeless candidate (see above). The rest have got really thin ribbed waistbands which I don't think suits me at all.
I also don't like they call, what is essentially, a cardigan, a jacket.
But I still want to buy at least 50% of the current collection just because it looks nice on models. I mean, I don't need any more harem & harem-like trousers (own 2); Hemingway duster coat that frays after each wear (apparently a great feature, according to Hush); don't need any more skinny jeans; don't want to get sucked into buying pricey knitwear that will go bobble-up/turn into a shapeless rag.
They are certainly very canny at selling you "the Hush lifestyle".
