Liquid paraffin worked a treat on our cat with a fur ball back in the 80s. Fair shot out the rear end, I seem to recall.

herbaceous · 03/03/2017 12:34

In S&B news, have returned from Sainsbury shop with new trousers, skirt, and tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/p/Navy-Pinafore-Dress/131148275-Navy?searchTerm=:relevance&searchProduct= pinafore dress]].

They also have some great coats, but the mocking tones of the crepeys rang in my ears too clearly, and I left them behind...

herbaceous · 03/03/2017 12:35

dress link.

Lalsy · 03/03/2017 13:08

Really nice haul, Herbs.

There is a professional/trade mag publisher very near me which is always advertising editor posts. I think times are hard as ad income fallen and online often free stuff such a threat to that business model?

magimedi · 03/03/2017 15:00

Nice kit, Herbs.

Also love the coral dress Rudy linked to.

I've been having a tidy up of my cupboards & found This fleece that I bought at the start of winter & wore once & did not like as it is too short in the body for me. I usually buy mens fleeces as am v long bodied.

If anyone wants it I'll post it off to them.

It's a size 16 & please note that I bought it in TKMaxx & paid about a tenner for it - not the silly price on the website!

Lalsy · 03/03/2017 15:16

Magi I would love that! On your advice I have ben scouring TK Maxx for WF ones but they have all been the less nice ones. I am solid nork-laden 14 with upper arms bigger than the rest of me (relatively speaking!) and short - reckon that would work? Happy to bung something they way of your favourite charity or reimburse you for postage and cost.

Lalsy · 03/03/2017 15:25

I seem to have described myself as some sort of female chimp....

hattymattie · 03/03/2017 15:27

Like the dresses ladies - I have huge trouble finding dresses that I actually look nice in - hence I have two, which I found at the same time, in the same store a couple of years ago. I will have to find something smartish for DD's graduation in the summer (any excuse). Am biding my time.

MM - I have discovered I have a short body recently - I bought a top which seemed very long on me, so I gave it to DSiLaw who is tiny and it was shorter on her than on me. Very weird.

Have bought jeans in Gap today as they were on promo. I think otherwise have enough clothes to be going on with. I saw a woman in the street in wide leg trousers and they looked amazing on her - would like to get this sort of look together but last time I tried on wide legs they looked like clown trousers on me.

motherinferior · 03/03/2017 15:30

I reckon you'd look nice in wide-leg trousers, Hattie.

I would look...short. Probably because I am.Smile

Lalsy · 03/03/2017 15:30

Oooh Hatty, I will need a graduation outfit too. Am now picturing myself as one of the PG Tips chimps in floral dress!

magimedi · 03/03/2017 15:50

Lalsy, pm me your address & I will send it to you next week.

I don't want anything for it - if no one here had wanted it it would have gone to the hospice shop. If you want to give somethingto a chaity that's great.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 03/03/2017 15:55

Lalsy, STOP IT. You are lovely and not chimp like.

Do you think you could sell a wedding to your dps on the basis of the Crepes NEEDING a posh do to dress up for?? would be a very selfless act...

Herbs, liking the joggers and skirt v much - on me the dress would look like I was pretending to be a schoolgirl (eeeew).

motherinferior · 03/03/2017 16:00

Heavens to Betsy, you lot, do you really want to unleash the torrent of neurosis that would be me in the lead up to a wedding?GrinGrinI'm bad enough now.

Lalsy · 03/03/2017 16:04

Don't worry, GGG! It was reading my inept description of myself - I don't think I am chimp like - I would like longer arms in fact as struggle with bras.......

Magi, thank you sooooo much, I am very excited, will do.

IDismyname · 03/03/2017 17:04

DS is halfway through some Level 1 Hygiene Certificate or some such, so have been relegated to iPad - and cannot do linking....

However, Boden have a great, great dress coat to go over posh frocks. It's a bit steep price-wise, but if you already have a dress/ shoes/ bag combo that needs tarting up, I think this would do it.

Go to Boden- women- coats and jackets- it's the cream one with a scalloped edge down the front.

Yes, I know it's ££££. No harm in looking Grin

Cremolafoam · 03/03/2017 17:13

Nice one Lalsy. That'll be perfect for you , being outdoorsy -! Said in a Katherine Hepburn voice*

Herbs, I saw that in the shoppe , but fear I am too lumpen for such an item. I had a pinafore once, but I was a size 12 along long time ago you will rock it.

GGG were recommendations any good to you -re cities.

I'm very indoorsy today as it is Baltic and wet. I do question my suitability as a dog walker. Have seen a beautiful puppy today, but am afraid to get hopes up. Dachshunds don't need miles of walking though.Hmm

Dh is coming to London with me, but says he'll have his own fun god help the Capital and we'll go out to The Royal Obs and Greenwich on the Sunday. I have received my Hockney ticket from the Tate for the Monday so am dead pleased.
Also have sent of three ( 3, iii ) application forms today. Phew.

Cremolafoam · 03/03/2017 17:15

Hopefully my lazy spelling is much better on the forms. Confused

Lalsy · 03/03/2017 17:24

Indeed, Crem Grin. It will be perfect for what we euphemistically call our summer holiday.

Crossing everything for you on applications front.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 03/03/2017 17:31

Thanks so much Crem for the really thoughtful and detailed holiday suggestions - am thinking Lisbon myself but trying to get any consensus from the rest of my lot is like herding cats... fancy seeing some Paula Rego (who I love) in the museums there

bigTillyMint · 03/03/2017 17:48

Oooh! I am liking the linkies! Thanks! Some of them are dresses that I have been perusing - great minds and all that. I think I need to order some to try as I haven't got the time or energy to go shopping atm.

Soooo glad it's Friday - have had to deal with hysterical (due to so-called friends) DD turning up at work and medical meeting for DS who is not happy about suggested changes to the plan. At least I can have a few bevvies with the girls tonightWineGrin

bigTillyMint · 03/03/2017 17:52

Cremo, your London trip sounds like it's shaping up nicely. Of course, Crepey night out will be the highlight!

Cloud, I will see if they start reducing/sending out vouchers - I don't really need a dressy coat (though coats and boots are always good) but there are some nice dresses too.

Didn't get the job and there are moves afoot to make me redundant.
