Monty I, too, am just DnS-ing and not Cote-ing on Friday.

Colly (my school hating gluten free chum...) are we to meet outside main entrance?

Collymollypuff · 20/02/2017 23:51

Yes - it's warm enough! Monty, I am also only there for the D&S on Friday, not Cote.

CointreauVersial · 21/02/2017 00:20

I'm Cote-ing all the way! It's Friday, GGG.

Sorry about puss-cat, MI. It's not a good time for crepey felines.

BD - boo to childcare woes, but I thought DS was 13? Old enough to be left for a few hours? Day out with a mate?

WAF - can't help on holidays - we've been looking at Croatia for the summer, and can't find anything remotely affordable. So we may end up in Spain too, as PILs have just bought an appartment near Almeira. On the plus side, we've booked a family visit to Ireland just before Easter, flying into Belfast so we can visit Titanic en route (I've been meaning to go for years). Astonishingly cheap flights - just over £30 return. I couldn't get a bus to Slough for that. Grin

Montypulciano · 21/02/2017 06:21

Morning - let me just do a quick headcount for Friday. It was a couple of threads ago so I will have to go from memory

Monty
Btm
GGG
MI
Cv
MrsS
Mrs W
Addle
Lalsy
Rudy

Who else for dinner? Or is that it? Plus Waf, Molly, cloud for d and s.

Apologies to anyone I've forgotten. Just let me know and I will add you in or take you out.

Cv, Croatia is lovely. Beautiful, hot, lots of gorgeous towns and villages. What about Slovenia too? I love it there. Northern Spain is great - San Sebastián and Bilbao too. Never been to picos but it's in the list.

Right, bath beckons. Back later.

motherinferior · 21/02/2017 06:59

Ladyjog for me.

Poor cat is yowling - poor beast clearly wants something sorted. Sad

8pm, Rudy. I've booked for 12 but we can reduce in the day. I am sure the restaurant won't mind unless we suddenly end up as 3 of us. Sorry about your shitstorm. Hope it resolves swiftly.

Dd but calmer today. She slept 9 to nearly 7. Clearly all the shouting is wearing her out. No word from school yet re meeting. Will chase this afternoon if I haven't heard.

MrsWobble3 · 21/02/2017 07:31

Monty, sorry but I'm a drop out - it's my uncle's funeral on Friday so I won't be in London. Sad to miss the meet up - I enjoyed the last one but hopefully next time will be work - I have no more uncles! (Possibly bad taste but he died peacefully in hospital at the age of 85 having had sufficient notice of impending doom to have lucid farewell conversations with friends and family so departed leaving all to rights - the way I hope to go when the time comes).

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 21/02/2017 07:31

I'm in for both, Monty Grin but I can't remember which Cote and I may have to dash before pud. I know d and s are at 5pm and dinner at 8pm...

Loving the idea of throwing wooden balls at the mayor! I would want to go, just for that....

Hope ds is more peaceful today and manages to get through his mocks ok. Do you have two weeks of this? We're on half term, which should involve revision, but isn't!

Blackduck · 21/02/2017 07:53

CV he is 13 but it's not a 'few hours' as dp and I would leave at 6.40 and get back about 6.15........ I think that's too long to be left. As it was last minute there was no time to foist elsewhere. Lucky I have leave left....

BTM hope ds is okay today. Rudy good luck with shitstorm..... Beachy good luck with revision.

Sorry to miss Saturday and meeting the newbies.

Montypulciano · 21/02/2017 07:58

Herbs! Can you come with tales of kitten love ?

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/02/2017 08:12

Can I suggest booking D&S place for Friday? The secret seems to have got out, and it gets quite busy at the weekend. If we're not going to Cote till 8, I will come and join you for drinks first, and should be there around 6, direct from Forrin Parts.

Lalsy · 21/02/2017 08:21

Monty, not me for Friday I am afraid, it is the March one I can come to.

Rudy, I hope things are settling. And BTM that ds has. Better day.

CointreauVersial · 21/02/2017 08:22
Rosebag · 21/02/2017 08:39

Rudy I'm sorry you have come back to it and things haven't gotten any easier. Flowers

MI It sound like DCat is trying to tell you something, poor thing.

I am sorry to miss the MU. Fridays are difficult for me but as it happens I'll be down at the flat again. A very old and special friend suffered a major, unthinkably terrible tragedy last summer, which I didn't want to post about. She's someone I trained with and we have stayed in touch over the 30 or so years. I am taking her to the flat for a weekend of peace and quiet and no doubt many tears from the both of us.

BTM How is DS this morning?

Monty Any progress with DD and school? Are you managing to persuade her to hang on in there?

Well, I have been blown out again work wise. I am very depressed about it all, as my bank balance with show when I go on a spending binge to compensate.

herbaceous · 21/02/2017 09:11

I can't do Friday's MU I'm afraid. I think I knew this, so hope I told you all I was unlikely. DP is going for a boys' sleepover in deepest Kent. God knows when he'll be back on Saturday, or in what kind of condition.

Kittens are becoming ever bolder, and now using my entire body as a tree. This is OK when wearing my sturdy dressing gown, but may become more of problem in skimpy garments.

MI - is there an Appointment for your dear old puss today?

motherinferior · 21/02/2017 09:22

The Appointment is tomorrow. DP rang this morning feeling v sad. DD1 is being robust, DD2 sad.

It may be that the vet is able to medicate her various disgusting ailments (DP says I don't need to know what he has cleaned) and give her a bit more time but she is just...awful at the moment and I suspect we've kept her hanging on too long.

Cremolafoam · 21/02/2017 10:19

Poor family Inferior. And kitty. Flowers

Herbs, have you not started intensive kitten training yet? they should be able to write their own names and line up when asked nicely mumsnet g&t threadha ha. Wink I have had a message from a gentleman on gumtree about a cat. Fingers crossed.

Ah Rose , sorry about The client letting you down. Hope it's just an anomaly and things will pick up for you. I love the pink of that linen jumper. Lots of pink and red in shops this Spring, which pleases me no end.

CV, time for a cup of Guinness in Belfast? Let me know! I can be anywhere you are in moments. spooky
🚘 hopefully Addle can recommend NI mini meet ups.Smile

BTM, hoping for s better day today.

I am supposed to be doing a job app, but failing miserably and faffing around on a CV design site. Off to the optician later. Might go for new frames while I still have a salary.🤓

herbaceous · 21/02/2017 10:25

Crem - have you tried rescue centres? That's how we got ours...

Cremolafoam · 21/02/2017 11:23

Yes Herbs, but when they've done the home check, they get negative because of our neighbours utility business, that has big lorries. Cats Protection particularly won't give us cats. Never lost a cat to lorries, which only come up the lane once a day. Sigh. The other shelter won't give cats until they do a home check, which they have never got round to doing as they 'couldn't find the house'
Angry

herbaceous · 21/02/2017 11:27

Oh I see. What rot. We live on a London street, albeit a quiet one, and our Cats Protection League were fine. Maybe they have so many cats, they can't be too fussy!

As predicted, now the deadline is approaching for the magazine, the client has come up with all sorts of stuff to wedge into it. All of which the designer will have to do, as he won't relinquish the InDesign files. And he's not answering emails. JOY.

motherinferior · 21/02/2017 11:31

Well, I've just heard that no, I didn't get an interview for that job for which I was if anything overqualified...

herbaceous · 21/02/2017 11:54

Oh FGS MI. What the hell is the matter with these people?

motherinferior · 21/02/2017 11:56

I was a really good candidate. Not good as in 'oh of course I could do this' but as in 'I have solid all-round experience of every damn thing on your list of requirements'.

I am quite fed up.

hattymattie · 21/02/2017 12:05

Oh no MI - sounds to me as if there was an internal candidate already lined up or they are threatened by your extensive experience and want somebody who will toe the line.

Crem - obviously too many people taking in cats near you. It seems a crazy decision when compared to a London street.

I am stuck at home once again waiting for a plumber. Please let this be a simple leak and not require digging up the tiled kitchen floor.
