Great dress fedup. I can see you in that!

Dream I have been meaning to say I saw the metallic buckled brogues you bought in Clark's the other day. They are lovely and such a bargain. Was the toughest test of my no spend for ten weeks challenge so far.

So cold again today... OOTD is Clark's tan brogues, opaques, Uniqlo midi tan skirt, chocolate brown Cos roll neck merino jumper (my best buy of the winter), M&S heatgen t-shirt underneath, brick red peacoat, teal scarf, beige beanie.

Lots of meetings this morning but hoping to get home early after a very long week. Happy Friday everyone Smile

queencerulean · 27/01/2017 09:47

I've just had a light bulb moment-the reason that jumpers don't work on me is becaus the ones I have are fitted. Fitted jumper and skinnies looks awful on me. Just tried jumpers on with flared jeans and jumpers look fine (flares not so much!). How has it taken me this long to work it out Grin

FedupNagging · 27/01/2017 10:57

Okay, who bought all the Oasis flower jumpers that Dry & others purchased? Am currently eating cake & drinking coffee shopping for tinted moisturisers & a grey jumper (to replace the Jigsaw one) & am a bit miffed that I can't find one!

FedupNagging · 27/01/2017 11:01

Queen if you find the right footwear you may grow to like your flares? I think it is Lara who suggested loafers or block heels.

Everyonelovessparkles · 27/01/2017 11:26

Grin fedup I saw this in m&s earlier which looked quite nice best thing in there image=SD01T387422PT4XEC_90&color=GREYMIX&prevPage=plp&pdpredirect grey embroidered jumper

VivaVegas · 27/01/2017 13:17

Love that dress FedUp, what's the sizing like, I have several Whistles dresses in similar styles and they have come up very big?
Re the embroidered jumper, have seen this in Whistles, overpriced and not to sure if its too much! flower sweatshirt
Did I recall someone saying on here that Jigsaw jumpers weren't great quality? Strangely drawn to this, like the colours Jigsaw jumper

shopafrolic · 27/01/2017 13:28

Interesting chat on Facebook Live with Vogue's Julia Hobbs at the moment talking about latest trends. On the Vogue FB page. She comes across well. Interesting to see how they are trying to expand into the digital world.

The VB dress arrived last night and it fits!

It is exactly what I like in a dress, just easy to throw on and not worry about accessories etc.

queenc I am like you with fitted jumpers. I have to wear them with boyfriend jeans, not skinnies. And my skinnies look better with longer jumpers and tees or shirts.

I think it's because I am a pear and my hips are the widest part of my body and wearing fitted clothes on the top and the bottom just accentuates that.

Larastheme · 27/01/2017 16:18

shop I have a bit of crush on Julia Hobbs ,that bit where she talked about her red prada coat on the BBC documentry is TV gold Grin
Hope minishop had a great bday yesterday Smile

queen, I agree ,I love wearing fitted jumpers with cropped straight leg jeans instead of skinnies, shoes are very important too, to make the whole look contemporary,

linus that's great! And I'm Envy you can fit in 34.

LinusLovesBretons · 27/01/2017 16:26

No no it's a 36 lara and it fits perfectly. My other VB dresses are size 34 (they are all the loose flowy kind) but I think she must have adapted her sizing as previous seasons her dresses were very oversized.

I seriously doubt I could fit in a 34 if the style was more fitted or if it was trousers.

FedupNagging · 27/01/2017 17:20

Linus I missed your dress purchase so scrolled back - it looks lovely and easy to wear-perfect for the summer where you are. I also love the All Saints leather jacket you linked for Dry.

Viva yes the sizing on the dress is large but I'm happy with that. I did see the floral sweatshirt in store and agree, it's too much - both floral & price wise! Your Jigsaw link reverted back to the floral sweatshirt.

I picked up this Whistles tartan dress then put it back again as it's so similar to the one I just bought. I did love it though.

I did intend to try on some different styles for inspiration today but it was just too cold and I had on too many layers so didn't bother.

I have come home with lots of tinted moisturiser samples to work my way through - the sales assistants were all so lovely and helpful I want to buy from all of them!

libertydoddle · 27/01/2017 18:32

viva it was me who moaned about Jigsaw knitwear. I threw out a jumper and cardigan recently from there. In both cases they were totally misshapen after only 2 or 3 washes. I like the Whistles sweater but it is overpriced.

Good news re the dress Linus.

libertydoddle · 27/01/2017 18:34

fedup I have an Hourglass tinted moisturiser sample from SpaceNK to play with this weekend. The ultra lovely SA I spoke to refused to sell it to me without trying it for a few days first. She thinks if I have been using Laura Mercier for quite a while that I might not like the Hourglass texture.

littleredlipstick · 27/01/2017 19:19

Evening all!

As a treat from being ill for the last few weeks I am been taken to London tomorrow and stopping over night near spitalfields market. This was my choice as never done this part of London before always stuck to oxford street etc.

Do you have any recommendations of places to go?

FedupNagging · 27/01/2017 19:31

Littlered have a lovely time - am sure someone will be along soon with some suggestions for you.

Lib many years ago I had mini makeover at a concession in Selfridges looking at you Benefit & as it looked nice in store, bought the lot. It wasn't until I was outside in the cold light of day that I realised I actually looked like an oompa loompa Shock Grin So now I never purchase a foundation without trying first.

What is everyone up to tonight? I'm just about to open a bottle of wine (dh is out) and catch up on The Affair.

VivaVegas · 27/01/2017 19:41

Fedup love that tartan dress, I've seen it in store and its very nice, but like you I already have several in that shape.
This is the Jigsaw jumper I like. Its a lot of money for it not to wear well though.
Dry January ends for me tomorrow night as out with DH, really looking forward to a nice (bottle of) wine!

AmberNectarine · 27/01/2017 19:45

Hawkmoor in spitalfields is great!

Out with DH at karaoke. Inaugural crop top wear of the year!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 27/01/2017 19:59

I went to hawksmoor for the first time last weekend - was lush! Definitely go there if you can get a table littlered.

Amber you must be freezing! I meant to ask, does the new house have a dressing room? Grin and sorry you missed out on the other house.

Drywhitethanks · 27/01/2017 21:21

Ooooh the Oasis embroidered jumpe t has sold out?

I'm with you QueenC and Linus. As a pear shaped, I suit fitted top with looser bottom or looser top with fitted bottom/ skinnies.

I have Jigsaw jumpers that I wear and wear and have lasted well....the merino ones though.

AmberNectarine · 27/01/2017 23:50

Not yet Blair but we're building one!

Offer accepted at any rate, so hopefully second time's a charm!

shopafrolic · 28/01/2017 08:33

Lib Hourglass is totally different in texture from Laura Mercier. I love it - but it is more like a foundation (I am getting more redness nowadays though so I need it). Will be interested to see what you think.
Fedup I have a couple of similar Whistles dresses - they are brilliant and hardwearing too.
Have fun Littlered I don't know that area too well sorry - but what a lovely treat
Fingers crossed Amber
MiniShop has his party today - not sure I can contain his excitement until 3pm Grin

Stokey · 28/01/2017 08:51

I was wandering round Spitalfields on Monday Littlered. There's quite a few higher end high street shops & designer outlets. Lots of quirky clothes stalls & places to eat in the market itself. Taberna do Mercado is a great Portuguese tapas place owned by Nuno Mendes of Chiltern Firehouse fame. If you walk up Commercial Rd towards Shoreditch, you pass a couple more big shops - Urban Outfitters & All Saints- then you reach Shoreditch box park which has lots of tiny clothes shops. Columbia Road flower market is fab on a Sunday morning. & If you fancy Vietnamese food, Viet Hoa & Cay Tre are yummy. There's also a Dishoom for Indian which is great.

Sorry bit too many options!

maradesbois · 28/01/2017 11:05

Morning!

Am home alone in my dressing gown drinking earl grey and looking at the sunshine outside - lovely! Meeting friends later for a stroll along the Kings Rd and hot choc on the terrace at Bluebird, temperature permitting.

littlered enjoy your trip to London, am not an expert on that area either but love the Georgian architecture. Really fancy joining you there now after reading Stokey's suggestions!

lib what a fab SA.

Shop good luck and HB to ds, am sure the party will be a triumph!

shopafrolic · 28/01/2017 12:51

Not going well so far Mara the cake makers laser printer has broken so what should have been a fully branded F1 car cake has been done by very wobbly hand. Looks awful. DS seems none the wiser and she didn't charge me full price but it just looks messy. Angry
