Oh Blingy that sounds hard work. DD is being quite cheeky and resistant at the moment and funnily enough she seems to be having a big developmental phase - suddenly more mature (at school!), reading and art work suddenly much better - my theory is that when there is a lot happening for them mentally or physically they can become quite demanding at home as it's their 'safe space' for letting out all the stress.

Great MU list! Can't wait.

Blair hope you are feeling a bit better today. Good advice from Blingy re getting the feedback.

Justa great that the heart print shirt is a keeper. I love hearts but agree you have to be careful or can look too girly.

Has anyone bought any nice t-shirts recently? Not a breton. And not completely plain. I really like this J Crew t-shirt but it's only available in xxs. I want something slightly interesting to wear with jeans. Not keen on slogans.

Stokey · 13/03/2017 13:44

Good luck Shop - hope it went/goes well.

I'm looking increasingly out for the MU - DH may have a family thing that day & now another old friend is having a birthday do Sad

Dd1 (7) has also been playing up a lot recently. Every time she gets told not to do something, it spirals into a massive tantrum and fit - she seems to be making up for never being a terrible two. I downloaded the headspace app and they have some meditations directed at kids, so I'm going to try doing that with her to calm her down a bit. we tried one yesterday and she kept saying it was boring but I will persevere.

Lib one of my friends has a tee-shirt brand Wear Kindred. They're organic and lovely quality, I'd recommend.

Really like those Tesco's leggings Kitty, am going to order, thanks.

libertydoddle · 13/03/2017 17:06

They are really nice Stokey and definitely the type of thing I had in mind. No autumn colours though.

This blouse which I ordered over the weekend has arrived and it's total LOVE. Great colour, print and shape for me. Reminds me of the sort of boho floaty tops I used to wear in my uni days.

Shop thanks to you I am now slightly addicted to Trinny (there is something utterly compelling about her sheer 'barminess'!) Anyway she is pear shaped as I am and she wears a lot of long sleeveless gillets / waistcoat things and I suddenly realised that they might work for me. So after a bit of hunting I have ordered this camel one from Monsoon. We shall see....

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 13/03/2017 17:09

shame it's unlikely you'll make it Stokey it would have been lovely to meet you. another time i hope.

bought a couple of blouses today, one is sleeveless with an all over cherry print and the other is a long sleeve anchor print one. Both will go with loads of stuff i already have and serve me well for warmer weather. I don't have good arms at all, they are big and flabby and covered in scaly bits from urticaria but hell, no one's going to be looking and i refuse to not wear what i want for fear of other people looking!

i tried on 8 different pairs of boyfriend jeans today and just could nto get a good fit in any of them so i guess it's just not the right cut for me. I'm not wasting any more time on that style so will move on to trying other cuts, i'm tempted to give 'mom' jeans a try. can't hurt to try a few pairs on and see if they are any better a cut for me.

I've got better at not 'making do' with things that aren't quite right for some reason, now if it doesn't fit right or i'm not comfortable in it, i take it back and return it and move onto something else. Feel a lot better for it tbh

FedupNagging · 13/03/2017 17:40

Shop hope today went well -tried to log on last night to wish you luck but my ipad was having none of it!

Blair everyone needs a bit of a diversion from real life and this is the perfect place; sorry to hear about your dh and the no Flowers for you.

Lib it's getting scarily real now for you all. Good decision on the studying for the time being.

I definitely agree with Queen about boys and testosterone surges; I noticed all my ds's had similar mood swings which I likened to a male form of pmt for the lack of any other description! It's tough to deal with at the time though so Flowers for you too Blingy.

Fab snakeskin print leggings Kitty and I love the bee t shirt Lib.

Tinted moisturiser update: after extensive testing and lots of free samples, I have gone for Bare Minerals - in case anyone is still interested Grin

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 13/03/2017 18:48

how did today go Shop?

blair sorry to hear of your DH's diagnosis, i hope he is able to manage it and it doesn't interfere too much with his life. it can be very very hard when you get told you have a chronic condition, there's a lot fo adjustment you have to do. i hope you are both able to work through the teething problems with managing it Thanks

all i can smell is bbq smoke, first hint of sunshine and it seems everyones out burning meat!!

shopafrolic · 13/03/2017 18:56

Evening all. Today went well I think.
Really great guy who owns the company, am excited but it may well mean I earn significantly less than the old days. Horrific realising how much less I am worth after 6 years as a SAHM.
I wore SE Karen black boots, black R&B skinnies, A&W chalk silk blouse and HL blazer. Carried the new MK tote which is just the perfect size.
Lib I adore Trinny as you know. Glad to have converted you.
One jeans trying on is the worst. I need new denim and am putting it off.

DryWhiteagainW · 13/03/2017 19:08

Oh Shop so glad it went well.

Blingy absolutely testosterone surges. Just as DS became unbareable he'd be back to normal again....started about 5/6. Just as I thought I couldn't cope anymore with the rudeness he'd belovely again.

shopafrolic · 13/03/2017 19:41

Some new names here

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 13/03/2017 20:09

you're so right Shop jean shopping is just so ugggh. Whenever if ind a pair that are just right, i buy them in as many washes/colours as i can and just live int hem until they fall apart and the hunt begins again. Tbf, i don't wear jeans as much as i think i should, i do prefer dresses and skirts but it's always a disaster not having a pair of jeans or two i can fall back on when i feel lazy or it's cold

Everyonelovessparkles · 13/03/2017 21:27

Glad it went well today shop fingers crossed for some good news. Your outfit sounded great.

Sorry to hear about your DH and the 'no' blair. FlowersWine Everyone needs some lightheartedness otherwise we would go mad. Glad you got your Gucci belt any way.

I need some new jeans as well one and shop. I'm going to go to the jeans bar in selfridges as I hate looking for jeans. I just need to get my act together and arrange it.

Sounds like you have made the right decision lib to pause the course for a while as you have got a lot on. I bet enquiringly about packers etc has started to make the move even more real.

Hope DS has been ok tonight blingy.

quuenc unfortunately I don't think I'm going to be able to make the MU as it will be too rushed with being at the MILs for lunch, as i don't know when we will get back. I'd much rather be out with you ladies drinking prosecco, so maybe next time.

Dreamqueen · 14/03/2017 07:09

Glad that today went well Shop.

Sorry to read about DH Blair Well done on finding your belt!

Longislandicetee · 14/03/2017 08:39

Morning everyone! Just wanted to say thank you for your lovely words and explanations on what might be happening with ds. Just wanted i needed after feeling like such a rubbish mum and worried about what is happening with my lovely little ds.

My Outnet order arrived yesterday. The Chloe ballet flats are absolutely gorgeous, and am very happy with them (especially as they were £160 cheaper!) They look lovely with both jeans and dresses. The DvF cardigan is a winner too. But OMG the printed jeans looked awful on me. They were meant to be cropped but as i am short they were more like full length, and no just no. Grin

I can confirm that Shop looked lovely yesterday. I learned yesterday that when someone is going for a job interview and sends you a selfie beforehand you're supposed to say "Good luck, you look great" and not "hubba hubba".Wink

shopafrolic · 14/03/2017 11:15

This Spring I mostly want to be dressed like Alexa Chung here and Sarah Harris here
Bearing that in mind what style / shape of jean should I be shopping for when I go looking? Are these mid rise straight leg? Or girlfriend? Or boyfriend? Anyone know? and if you can recommend any jeans that look like this I'll love you forever

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 14/03/2017 13:56

Next question..... do any of you own MiH Phoebes? What's the sizing like please?

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 14/03/2017 19:00

Where is everyone?!

OP posts:
Dreamqueen · 14/03/2017 19:07

I'm here Shop but have no S&B ideas at the moment. Battling hol weight gain & post holiday blues.

shopafrolic · 14/03/2017 19:21

Oh boo Dream holiday blues are rubbish. Red lipstick and gin to help?

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 14/03/2017 19:23

I'm here! All I can say is I'm counting down the days to my holiday.

Oh and the weather has been lovely

Thought I had a dinner to go to in Lisbon with fashion type people, but it's been changed to a day trip only so I have no outfit planning to do. I was going to do a big spiel on it Wink

shopafrolic · 14/03/2017 19:31

Hey Marsha when do you go? Same place as last year?

OP posts:
libertydoddle · 14/03/2017 19:31

I've been decluttering all day Shop. No idea about MIH sizing I'm afraid. I like those looks for you - think you are searching for 'mom jeans' or straight legs.

shopafrolic · 14/03/2017 19:36

I ordered some straight leg 7FAM jeans from the Outnet today to try. Posted the pics on instagram asking for help - the Alexa pic people reckon are relaxed skinnies or girlfriends, and the Sarah pic straight leg. Bloody love Instagram. Even The Frugality responded to my plea Smile

libertydoddle · 14/03/2017 19:43

Buy a new outfit anyway Marsha? Grin
