I can't see you in rockstud flats Blingy (do you have the heels?). They feel too tough for you?

Lib, I think Shop might be right, they won't suit me. I think rounded flats suit me best, and i say that despite spending £400 on the Aquazurra flatsShockBlush Shop did tell me to send them back and i didn't and now can't find anything that they go with!

At the moment i am living in my Russell & Bromley quilted ballerina flats for work, and then today when i was out (didn't go to work) i wore my Lowlands. I have a couple of other flats, so i have to keep telling myself not to rush out to get more flats just because. (Actually have to say love today's outfit - the Whistles Breton top, dark blue Gap jeans and then when i went out, i added my John Lewis big black overcoat and grey lowlands).

shopafrolic · 03/03/2017 22:56

You definitely suit round toes more x

You'd be better off with Chanel or Lanvin flats blingy. The Rockstud flats aren't actually that comfortable, though I love mine.

Made a few cheap and cheerful purchases for the new season today:

Dress

Boots

Hoodie

All items that made me very happy and the prices were a bonus! I've wanted something yellow but it's a dreadful colour on me so the boots are a perfect solution! Plus they're so cheap that I won't care when they inevitably get trashed after a few months.

Wore the dress out tonight and LOVE it. So short but the style is perfect for me.

Stokey · 04/03/2017 08:42

Great buys Amber. You're very good at mixing high street with high end.

Glad to hear you're recovering Blingy, although frustratingly slow. I love the rockstuds but think I'm slightly more rock chick than you Grin .

I've got an interview this week and have no idea what to wear. Think casual & creative, but I haven't bought anything for ages. Not sure whether to pop to &OS or Cos & try and find something or go with something I have- would be black trousers, ankle boots and slouchy polo or pencil skirt, tee & long cardie? Not sure either are quite right.

justasecond · 04/03/2017 13:25

Gorgeous buys blingy the Mcqueen dress is indeed exquisite. The ted baker one is also beautiful. Hope your recovery continues to progress well.
I still love rockstuds but they are quite similar to my givenchy flats which I haven't worn yet
I took a quick trip to the shops yesterday to get out of my cleaners way. First time I have been to actual shops in ages but have to say was quite uninspired. Tbh I can't be bothered with rl shopping much anymore! I came back with a red lipstick from mac viva glam1. Dh is not keen but it makes a nice change from my usual nudes and pinks. Prob not for the school run though!

I was after some cropped straight leg jeans but it was all wall to wall skinnies in the shops. Found some to order online, will report back if any good.
Love those buys amber esp the boots, wouldn't be brave enough for them myself though!
well done on the job interview stokey either outfit sounds good to me.

Longislandicetee · 04/03/2017 18:09

They're such great buys Amber! Inspired me to have a wonder around the shops when i was out earlier.

Stokey, my only thing is to make sure that the cardigan is not too long otherwise it crosses the line from stylish to frumpy.

I have been wearing my Whistles Breton again over Me&EM basic long tee with jeans. Really like it.

This weeks purchases have made me realise that i need another cull in the wardrobe.HmmI have got rid of over 100 items in the last 6 months and have definitely not bought 100 items back but still feels like I need to pare my wardrobe down to stuff that i actually wear as opposed to stuff that takes up room!

DryWhiteagainW · 04/03/2017 18:32

talking about cheap and cheerful I bought this top very nice indeed, looks great with jeans and red shoes.

Fairylane · 05/03/2017 03:46

Love that top Drywhite.

Fairylane · 05/03/2017 03:50

Justa, the mac viva glam 1 is my only Mac lipstick. Bought it last year on recommendation from the sales assistant. Really great for a change - it came out in 1994 so I always feel a bit on-trend in a 90s way when I wear it!

Dreamqueen · 05/03/2017 05:08

I've fallen off the thread on my phone. So just posting to find you easily. I hate app on phone.

shopafrolic · 05/03/2017 10:11

I went to Milton Keynes yesterday - GAP jeans are £29. Tried on a few pairs - forgot how bad they look on my bum so walked away.
Debenhams had an offer on beauty - the MAC counter was absolutely rammed - never seen so many people! I only own a couple of Mac lipsticks, what other stuff of there's is so good? Hmm
I've picked up a couple of bits from NYX in Boots - their HD concealer that Trinny raves about and an eyebrow pencil. Will report back if any good.
Not much else to report - DH is out all day today so need to make a plan to keep DS entertained in this rubbish weather.

Funny Shop am wearing Gap kids jeans again today and admiring how nice bump looks in them. Grin I am a total sparkle hub today as am wearing this crystal embellished Michael Kors cashmere sweater with the jeans and my Boodles Blossom ring.

Shop my favourite things at MAC are the eyeshadows and all the primers (face, eye, lash and lip). Tried other brands and nothing beats them. The eyeshadows deliver a smooth intense colour and the primers mean that if it's important that my make up stays fixed for a whole day, that I look the same 12 hours later. They're lipsticks are great though to be fair these days I wear Nars and Tarte.

DryWhiteagainW · 05/03/2017 14:00

My everyday lipstick is 'spirit' by MAC, I rate their lipsticks. Agree that eye shadows are great too. Will check out primers Blingy........but I think there's a lot of hype, teenaged girls go mad for it, Saturday the MAC counter looks and sounds like a club!!!!!

shopafrolic · 05/03/2017 14:20

Have you NCed Dry? - confused.
It did look like a club - I felt v old Grin
Thanks for the tips Blingy I use Smashbox for primer at the moment but will take a look when that runs out. I rarely wear eyeshadow...... although I keep thinking I should!

Yes it's weird, don't know why MAC become so popularConfused back in the day, I wore all MAC for my wedding and I had one of their make up artists do me, my bridesmaids, dm and dmil. She was awesome and taught me so much through the make up trials I had with her. To be honest I was a bit rubbish at doing my make up before her!

littleredlipstick · 05/03/2017 16:12

AmberNectarine · 05/03/2017 16:42

I'm ambivalent about Mac. The lipstick pigmentation is great but the matte finish are SO drying. I prefer Bobbi Brown. In terms of primers, I find them ok but prefer YSL or Smashbox. The eye shadows are good but Urban Decay are unbeatable for me.

MarshaBrady · 05/03/2017 17:00

Afternoon. I'm having a glass of red wine, whilst dinner is cooking, which is very nice indeed. It's making me feel very relaxed. Ended up going out quite late on Friday night with work friends so I'm enjoying being home. I find that out once or twice a week is enough these days. Out again Tuesday, somewhere nice so I am looking forward to it.

Wanted to say big good luck to Stokey you'll be ace, they'd me mad not to take you.

And a big hug to Lib and good vibes for this week at work.

Dh bugging me back in a mo

shopafrolic · 05/03/2017 17:41
