Oh I was looking forward to seeing that! I think there are some lovely pieces there but she's obviously designed for someone with her frame. Ie tall and slender. I think you or Marsha would look lovely in it (if it was your thing) but I think if you're my height or not so slender or both I don't think the pieces work. Pity. I love the red tie over the dress, that feels different.

shopafrolic · 13/02/2017 18:14

All the wrong lengths for me........

Think its bland no? very much the direction most contempary brands aim for ,sleek streamlined but it looks like it could be from any high street store like cos or toast . don't understand the high price tag when its all MMF Confused

Longislandicetee · 13/02/2017 22:26

I think most of the pieces are aimed at a professional woman with a desk job and they are aimed at being able to go from desk to evening. I think in an office environment "bland" or streamlined palette is usually the way to go unless it's a creative environment like say Marshas. Eg in my world "interesting" prints have the same impact as "interesting" ties on men. I get around it by using accessories to pull an outfit together.

I think this review in the Guardian is consistent with my perspective. I wouldn't wear it to the boardroom but I would wear it say on a Friday as that's my version of dressing down. I also agree that it's competitors are me & em and LK Bennett, as opposed to Toast.

I have just read a complaining comment that you have to basically have Sam Cam's body shop to carry it off. It goes on to moan that they don't have anything bigger than a size 14, entirely missing the point that unless you're 6' you're not going to care they don't do size 16, cos it won't suit you!

littleredlipstick · 13/02/2017 22:55

City breaks I would like to do are Paris and Rome at the moment. Would love to do a weekend in Iceland in a pod looking at the stars.

I can't wait for the cruise any reason for dressing up for dinner! Already looking at spa treatments for the days at sea.

Hope you enjoyed your walk yesterday blingy, think it's meant to be nice again today if you felt up to it.

Your weekend sounds nice blair. Hope your sister enjoyed the baby shower.

I agree with blingy re the Sam Cam clothes - I think there are some quite nice pieces, but you need to be tall and slim. I'm pretty average in terms of height and size, but not sure many of those pieces would work for me. I don't think it massively helps that the model has a look of Sam cam either (Tall, slim, similar hair etc) so people are going to make the comment that she's designed for herself.

Hope minishop enjoyed her princess afternoon.

Heading into the office today. OOTD is a black hi-loTed baker skirt I've had for years, black skinny polo neck and the Lk bennet ankle boots. This outfit even passed DDs high standards Smile

Longislandicetee · 14/02/2017 08:39

Happy Valentine's Day Voguettes!! Dh decided to get me a cheeky card...Forgetting about our nosey dd Grin.

Hope those of you who celebrate it, got spoiled!

libertydoddle · 14/02/2017 14:18

Oh dear Blingy I hope he had to do any required explanations too!

I am struggling today, DH had surgery yesterday and is completely laid up - he has to lie with his leg elevated above his heart and move as little as possible for 2 weeks - the damage in his ankle was worse than expected and consultant says it's really important he gives it two full weeks of recovery. Trying to finish an essay by Thursday, have DD in full on moan mode because Dad can't play with her, and have I full on PMT...feeling v v sorry for myself.

I need help as I have discovered that I have a wardrobe gap for a boyfriend style cardigan. This Equipment one is the type of style I have in mind. I want either a really rich chocolate or dark olive or possibly a very warm charcoal grey. It probably needs to be a slightly finer knit than the Equipment one, it must have buttons and ideally pockets. I don't want cashmere, maybe a mix blend but mostly natural fibres, wool and silk mix would be ideal as it has to be soft and warm but not too hot. As I said I am not spending but would buy this if I found the right one. Ideally no more than £200.

Dreamqueen · 14/02/2017 14:24

I've been watching Madam Secretary on Sky. It's easy watching with some great fashions. I'm obsessing about some of her jewellery especially this necklace It's sold out but I've added myself to the waiting list.

These Marc jacobs sunglasses arrived today. They are a bargain & keepers. I'll get my own varifocal lens put in them so that I can see Smile

Everyonelovessparkles · 14/02/2017 14:55

lib you poor thing. Half term has come at a bad time for you and your DH. Are there any friends who can have your DD for a couple of play dates over half term? Rant away. Have some Flowers Cake and a lot of Wine Gin Nice cardi. I will keep an eye out when I am perusing online.

Glad you are pleased with the glasses dream. I never thought about putting Lenses in my own frame. I don't really like my new glasses but there wasn't much selection in boots, but maybe using my own frame is the way to go next time.

I got some REN eye cream and toner in M&S today. I also received a 20% code for the end of the week. If anyone has their eye on anything (ha ha!) let me know and I'll share the code. It's off clothes, homes and beauty.

Hopefully · 14/02/2017 16:20

Hello all, long time no see. Hope you are all well.

I'm on the hunt for a couple of items and I thought you clever bunch might be the people to help out. First up I quite fancy a boiled wool spring jacket. I think I want a bomber, like a more fitted version of this. Second is another jacket! I quite fancy some sort of boho jacket, but it can't be too fussy and frilly. To be worn as a blazer over jeans and tshirt. Autumny sort of colours, am not averse to charcoal/taupe shades either. Could possibly be persuaded into other shades of grey (oo-er) for the bomber. Need to be

Hopefully · 14/02/2017 16:21

Can we just pretend I put sufficient pleases and thank yous in there, rather than barging in and demanding you all find me clothes? Blush

Longislandicetee · 14/02/2017 16:32

Oh poor poor you Lib sometimes everything just seems to go wrong doesn't it? Huge hugs to you.

My Burberry trench got its first outing today! I am wearing this J Crew plaid shirt under a cable cream sweater (which is about 20 years old but still looks good!) With J crew toothpick jeans. When I went out earlier I wore the burberry trench and tan Aquatalia knee high boots. I feel great despite near heart attack....

I decided to wear the raindance necklace that dh got me for Christmas. Opened the box...it's not there and instead is the other diamond necklace that my pils got me which I has totally forgotten about.Shock My heart was thudding away furiously thinking "crap crap crap I haven't seen it for 6 weeks then". It turned up in another jewellery box. Phew. So I thought oh well I will wear pil's necklace and the Blossom bracelet...cue next mini panic. I don't have the energy for this! Hmm

Longislandicetee · 14/02/2017 16:58

Hello Hopefully! I liked what you linked! Will keep an eye out.

Hopefully · 14/02/2017 17:11

It's the drop shoulders that are alarming me - I want it just a bit more fitted. I love both the colours though!

Everyonelovessparkles · 14/02/2017 17:15

blingy love that you can just 'forget' that the PILs got you a diamond necklace!! Grin

My MIL moaned about having to pay for DSs shoes as well as DDs shoes at Xmas! (She's pretty well off, just tight as a drum!)

Dreamqueen · 14/02/2017 17:43

Lib cross posted and missed your post about DH. wishing him a speedy recovery. It's important for him to follow the hospital instructions and not rush to get back on his feet too soon otherwise he could do more damage. Hope you get your mojo back soon.

shopafrolic · 14/02/2017 18:01

Blingy no words
Lib big big hugs
Hey Hopefully welcome back - will take a look about
Did a little make up shop today and fell in love with so much in spaceNk.
The new Clinique and Crayola collaboration is just brilliant - I bought a chubby stick in Razzmatazz which is a great dark pinky shade. Picked up a high impact waterproof mascara too as it's needed for swimming. And then in space NK I bought Lipstick Queen's lipstick in Medieval is a lovely sheer red they claim suits anyone.
I also tried By terry Densilis foundation which is just fabulous - £78 though!!!! So left it for now but it is REALLY good. And the new Hourglass blush palette in the most perfect colours. here
Sorry for lack of links but all are on my Pin.
