Great buy on the boots Dry. You may find them easier to wear with skirts as if you are wearing them with black opaques it will create more of an illusion of a longer leg than the tan ones do and the higher heel would potentially work better than your Petty boots (am I making any kind of sense???)

I have a black tie dinner this evening - do not feel like it at all or rather I do not feel like traipsing into the city and back out again in a dress and heels in the current weather. Wearing the same dress I bought for last one I went to. Getting my hair done later. Black court heel shoes from Hobbs. Forgot about needing a bag - will have to dig in back of wardrobe for something appropriate or make a mad dash to Accessorise...I was really excited when I got this invite but feeling distinctly 'meh' about it today.

I am reading the DT threads in AIBU... they are great.

Does anyone have any tips on designer belt sizing, specifically Gucci? I've read that the measurement given is end to end, but also that it's to the middle hole. I want to get one that can be worn on waist at tightest hole or high waist jeans at a looser hole. Not sure when I would be able to get to a store to try.

I rarely read blogs but had a look at dmbl40 at the weekend and she did a post on peg trousers - Shop these may be an alternative to skinnies, you certainly have the height and figure to carry them off.

So the Whistles dress arrived and it's my ootd with a l/s black polo underneath and knee length black boots. It looked better with Ash jalouse (suede) boots but it was cold and raining and I walked to work.

Wore my new black boots today, soooo comfy, felt v smart, will wear them a lot.

Interesting Fedup the shape of some of them is great but I worry that on me they would come up too short. May try when I spot them in a store though to see. I am so over jeans and find them more and more uncomfortable as time goes on
I have won a competition! A weekend away. Very exciting. I never win anything :)

No fashion news from me (ha!) but the stuff I decluttered in my wardrobe clear out 6 months is going to be shipped in the next few days. I am thinking of mustering up energy to add to it though will link them here first if I do it.

In other news, those of you at the last MU will remember that I was loaned a diamond ring. I had err misplaced it the last few days but found it this morning!

I had a great time at the black tie function last night. Was at a table with a group of funny and very opinionated people with plenty of good wine flowing. Throughly enjoyed myself.

I ordered these black trousers I'm not too sure about them. They are very comfortable but I don't know whether they will go baggy. I'll try them with a few different tops and decide.

Other than that I am ill with a cold and still in my dressing gown today! I'm seeing a friend later, I don't really feel like it but if I cancel again I won't be able to rearrange for 4 weeks Not sure what I'll wear, something warm

Sorry i can't be any help with your belt dilemma blair i have never bought a designer one, i rarely ever wear a belt at all, i think i only own one for jeans and a few waist belts for dresses!

The only fashion news I have to report is i bought a cheapy pair of ankle grazer skinnies which happen to fall just right on my leg and i can wear them as full length skinnies i don't feel comfortable with the idea of paying a lot fot jeans right now while i'm changing weight and shape, i'd rather get cheap ones that do the job than spend a lot of money on pricier ones that might not fit for very long.

Been for my required smear test today and ugh, i just hate having them done so much, i find them insanely painful for some reason. still it's done now and over with

I decided to keep the warehouse trousers. They weren't what I was envisaging when I looked up outfits on Pinterest but they are comfy and smarter than the Harem style trousers I have been wearing at home, so figured they will get worn. In fact, I am wearing them today . I thought I'd get a longer length black and ivory Breton from boden to go with them as Johnnie very kindly sent me a £10 voucher today. But guess what, they aren't doing the 2 lengths any more, just one style that is longer than before (but doesn't say if it's as long as the previous longer length one) and none in ivory and black. I hope boden aren't going to go like m&s and ignore the things they're good at and that people like. Very annoying.

My boden order arrived and the skirt is fab but I really needed a 10. The dress is ok but it doesn't fit perfectly. So both will probably go back. I am getting really fussy, but right now I actually need lots of new work clothes!
