Goodness. My eyes need bleaching EveryoneShock

Stokey · 02/02/2017 11:44

Has anyone been watching the OA? She has a wolf hoodie, I'm pretty sure there was an infamous Apprentice episode with something similar on QVC a few years back.

Glad that you feel happy and settled One.

I'm short-waisted too Blingy, I think we're similar in build but you're scaled down a couple of size me without the cake

I'm in extension mode rather than fashion mode. Those of you that have done one - how do you decide what to have where? I'm looking for pins & on Houzz for ideas but can't find any images of what I have in my head. Does that just mean it's bonkers? If anyone can recommend kitchen design sites. I'd appreciate it.

queencerulean · 02/02/2017 12:06

Im laid up in bed with whiplash and a very sore bum! Managed to slip down the stairs yesterday evening (no alcohol involved!).
stokey can't help with extensions but have you tried the relevant mn board (property?). There's bound to be people in the know there.

Drywhitethanks · 02/02/2017 17:38

Stokey nothing wrong with having an image in your head.
Are you starting from scratch or extending an existing room?
If it's kitchens think the triangle......fridge, over, sink near each other I think
I nosed around a lot if my friends' kitchens/bathrooms and asked what they killed/would improve.
Spent ages in showrooms getting ideas.
Good kitchen companies will do plans.
Nitty gritty stuff like sockets is boring....my advice is go for as many as poss.
I could go on and on.
We've done kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms......pm me if you need any advice, love this stuff.

Drywhitethanks · 02/02/2017 17:39

Don't underestimate the importance of goid lighting....in our kitchen I have loads of different options to create different atmospheres.

Everyonelovessparkles · 02/02/2017 18:23

Hope you're feeling ok queenc. I slipped down the stairs a few months ago and my shoulder still
isn't right.

amber, dry, lib, mara I saw this event advertised called rave-a-roo. It's basically a kids disco event at ministry of sound. It looks pretty cool. Unfortunately we can't make the dates but thought I'd mention it in case you were interested.

AmberNectarine · 02/02/2017 18:41

Thanks everyone, have just booked - DH loves Dick and Dom!

Everyonelovessparkles · 02/02/2017 18:59

I'm jealous amber! Smile you'll have to report back as there's a chance we can make the March date.

shopafrolic · 02/02/2017 19:37

I'm taking miniShop to one of these events soon :)

Stokey · 02/02/2017 20:51

Thanks Dry & QueenC, I've posted on property too.

We're knocking down the old kitchen and making a big kitchen dinner out of the old kitchen, patio & dining room. And then hopefully a 4th bedroom and ensuite above somehow.

Lighting is a good tip. We've got a good space to play with but just need to work out the best layout.

I'll PM you once I've drawn it to scale Dry, would love your ideas.

Rave looks fun.

Everyonelovessparkles · 02/02/2017 21:18

That looks fun shop. There's so much cool stuff out there for kids now. Ooo to be 7 again!

Good luck with the house stuff stokey. Sounds like you want to go a similar thing as we've got - though we bought ours already done. I love it but there's a couple of things I would have done differently eg a bigger utility room. I would recommend Sky lights - they are fab, they let in so much light and I love looking at the sky changing colour or the clouds moving. We've got quite a few and our space is so much brighter than friends who have a similar extension but not as many.

queencerulean · 02/02/2017 23:50

Bastard whiplash. I read that it takes 12-24 hours to fully develop and then gets worse. Seriously, who knew you could get whiplash from falling down the stairs? Because I can't sleep (even the codeine hasn't knocked me out) I've managed to just order £311 worth of stuff from John Lewis Shock Blush

libertydoddle · 03/02/2017 09:28

Oh poor you QueenC ...What did you order?

OOTD M&S leather midi skirt, teal Uniqlo merino crew neck, opaques, brogues, gold jewellery. Am living in this outfit ATM.

So glad it's Friday Smile

Longislandicetee · 03/02/2017 10:42

Are you resting in bed again today QueenC?

Ootd sounds lovely Lib. I am in satin purple nightie and pink fluffy dressing gown.Grin

I decided to spend yesterday morning sorting out stuff to do with my charity as I have ignored it all for the last few months. I spent the morning on it, at the end of which I was knackered and went back to bed (which I am not supposed to do) so I have decided to have 3 short bursts of activity today and that's it.

kittyhello · 03/02/2017 10:50

Ouch Queen that sounds painful, so what did you buy?

Like the sound of your ootd Lib

Interesting stuff about body type Blingy sadly I'm short legged, I feel as if I should have longer legs to go with the rest of my body Sad

Stokey we're having some work done at our place in your neck of the woods, have you already got builders in or are are you at the quote stage? Got a recommendation for if you're still at the quote stage.

Decided I need to break out of my boring comfort zone, so jumped on the bandwagon and bought:

whistles giraffe print dress it comes up huge so had to size down

and navy dress

Thanks Viva and Fedup for the recommendation.

Away for the weekend so going to give them a whirl

ootd is BR khaki sloan fit trousers, black shirt, snake print belt and black pointy MD flats a simple but very me outfit.

Hope everyone is doing something nice this weekend

queencerulean · 03/02/2017 10:56

I bought about 5 blouses ( some multiple sizes hence the large cost). No way will I be keeping it all!! Off to see a chiropractor this afternoon, the pains still bad but bearable if I keep moving. It seizes up in bed.

lib have you seen there's a new Ines range for uniqlo?

Dreamqueen · 03/02/2017 11:41

Good luck at chiropractor QueenC Sounds very painful. Looking forward to seeing your shopping.

Kitty have a great weekend away. I nearly ordered the navy dress but then decided that I don't really need it. I have quite a few navy dresses if I lose 7lbs that I'll be able to wear.

Forgot to say, please add me to the list for March MU.

OOTD is gymwear from this morning. I should shower & change but can't be bothered. Staying home tonight as part of the diet & only drinking alcohol on Sunday regime. Thank God for box sets. Smile

Stokey · 03/02/2017 13:22

Oww sounds painful QueenC

Thanks Kitty - we're pre-planning at the moment, will have to apply as we're going further than permitted development, so builders details would be great. Sky lights are definitely on the wishlist everyone & want to get a window seat like this but think my ideas are bigger than my budget!

OOTD is white Stans, black cords, green jumper under my black Choose Love t-shirt.

Out for dinner tonight - I may wear Hush green jumpsuit for the first time, or black faux leather pleated skirt with cold shoulder jumper.

VivaVegas · 03/02/2017 14:25

Stokey we had a large building project last year knocking the existing kitchen and dining rooms into one and adding a large extension to make one huge open plan living/dining/kitchen. I love it we have huge floor to ceiling windows at the bag which is great. I have an extension board on pin if you want to have a look at that and happy to answer any questions.

VivaVegas · 03/02/2017 14:31

Kitty I am wearing my giraffe dress out tonight. First time but tried it on with opaque and heeled ankle boots last night and love it, think it will work well right through into summer too. And you're right it's huge!
And spookily I took delivery of the blue Lulu dress from ASOS yesterday for the bargain price of £28.50, again think it will get lots of wear.
Got a few other Whistles bits from ASOS but think they will be going back.
Hope those ailing start to feel better and have time to rest over the weekend

FedupNagging · 03/02/2017 14:56

I hadn't noticed the zebra print dress had been reduced again - it's now on order so thanks for the link there Kitty. Have a lovely weekend.

Am headed to town tomorrow and am hoping to wear the burgundy one with opaques and ankle boots but not sure it will be warm enough. drums fingers waiting for spring

Queen that sounds painful so hope the session this afternoon helps ease it somewhat.

Stokey your extension plans sound exciting, will you get it done this year?

Ootd is black précis petite knee length dress with a poloneck layering top underneath, grey animal print opaques and knee length boots - I think the dress is at least 8yrs old but I love it. Also wearing silver drop earrings and stacked silver bangles.

VivaVegas · 03/02/2017 15:26

Fedup love the sound of animal print opaques!

shopafrolic · 03/02/2017 16:57

Love that Whistles giraffe print - but a silk shirt and a sweater are enough - fab dress.......
QueenC hope the pain is lessening. Flowers
