All the best for your operation NU Flowers

And MI, hope you feel better for your rehearsal and concert. Horrible having to drag it out of yourself when you're not well.

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/12/2016 07:31

It tastes like something unpleasant crawled into my mouth to die and is swiftly decomposing. But apart from that, no ill effects and no hangover. Halo

Blackduck · 17/12/2016 08:07

NU good luck

MrsS you were clearly shirking then......

Rosebag · 17/12/2016 08:11

Best of luck NU. Hopeful it'll be over before you know it! Flowers

MontserratCaballe · 17/12/2016 08:26

Good luck, NU. Much love xx

3rd night out in 3 days last night. 3 more invitations for today. So tired and shabby. But very chipper this morning. Perhaps I am still a bit pissed. Smile

I have post to collect from sorting office in the 2 minute window it is open this morning. It may contain the secret Santa I am needing to post. Apologies to anyone still waiting. Flowers

Calendar offering this morning was a bit small I thought. Love the lipstick from a couple of days ago though. Is it just me, cv and Rudy with the m and s one?

Rosebag · 17/12/2016 08:51

I've got it too Monty. DD is being very bullish about it and gets cross if she likes something and I pull rank. Our last row was over the lip gloss which I really like actually although I'm worried that I'm a bit sensitive to it and my lips are a bit sore...so she might the get it in the end. I tried the liquid gold last night, but am still in bed so yet to look in the mirror to see if there's any difference!

MontserratCaballe · 17/12/2016 09:00

I've not cracked into that one yet, Rose. Please do report back. My girls have already appropriated quite a few bits. I think that most of the potions are too "old" for them though. They are just lifting the make up. I will be sad when it is finished as it has been lovely to have a small treat each day.

Cremolafoam · 17/12/2016 09:26

And me Monty. Wore the liquid gold last night and I would say slight tightening affect, but not much else. Not enough moisture for me. Am liking the Skyn eye mousse. It seems to be what I need ATM.
Also come to like the 'raisin' nail polish Smile 💅

Hoping NU is in recovery.
Oh Cocoa, poor ds. He'll be needing his DM urgently I suspect.Hmm

Chilling, before onslaught of general public.

MontserratCaballe · 17/12/2016 09:35

Crem, my skin is so very dry too. Possibly I need to drink more water - and less wine. I loved both nail polishes but the girls have already swiped those. The bottle of Nuxe is fab and really big for a sample. A lot of these things go for ££££ on EBay too if they're not to your taste....

Cremolafoam · 17/12/2016 09:46

I am a massive Nuxe fan. I am saving my little bottle of Huile P for travel. The scent is divine and the oil doesn't upset my skin , which is sooper ultra sensitive. Have bought dsil a gift box of it, but really want it myselfBlush

MontserratCaballe · 17/12/2016 09:55

I love it too. The shimmery one is great for summer and goes on hair as well if a bit frizzy. The perfume is divine as well. A really warming delicious smell. Might have a bit now.

Perhaps SIL would prefer something else though Wink

motherinferior · 17/12/2016 10:05

Do try the Feelinique pick'N'mix for Nuxe. As well as Miller Harris et al.

I have stuff to do, but am not sure exactly what. Getting dressed would be a start.

wordassociationfootball · 17/12/2016 10:10

NU. Do hope all goes well today and your pain relief is good.

I have the M&S cal! With you Rose on the lipstick I think. So often find lip stuff drying. Only NY Urban Decay Naked glosses seem to actively moisturise.

All a bit gloomy here. DH low. Dd2 plagued by some problem which she will NOT talk about, and just kicking off.

Glad you're chipper Monty.

motherinferior · 17/12/2016 10:24

In S&B news my hair continues to be complimented. "What have you done to it?" Er, nothing.Smile

Stropperella · 17/12/2016 10:33

Sorry to hear things are gloomy, WAF :(

I am underslept and feel as though I am being dissolved by my own stomach. Have only myself to blame, as had 2 good friends round for an excess of alcohol and party food last night. Dh cleared up the kitchen and dining-room at 2am, even though he had worked through the night until 6am the previous night and wasn't even drinking with us last night. Star

As of yesterday, dd is now the official owner of my old car. So she drove it to work yesterday afternoon, and then drove to Surrey at about 8pm last night to visit a friend, who she is then bringing back home with all his stuff (as he his term has just ended). Surrey is a good 2-hour drive from here and involves a lot of motorway driving, which dd has never done by herself. I am glad I was getting sloshed with friends all night, as otherwise I would have been just twitching and worrying. Dd messaged about 10.30 to say she got there ok.

bigTillyMint · 17/12/2016 10:40

NU, hope your op goes/is going well.

Cocoa, glad your DS has got himself sorted out - did he get it for free? When DD had something wrong with her eyelid (stye possibly) it cost DH £££ for a GP visit and some AB's!

WAF, sorry things are a bit gloomy - it's gruelling being the glue, isn't it?

Work Christmas do last night didn't quite turn out as intended, but I did enjoy getting away from the house (especially after hosp visit with DS) and feel OK this morning Xmas Smile

bigTillyMint · 17/12/2016 10:41

Stropps, excellent on all fronts!

Stropperella · 17/12/2016 10:48

I have just seen on FB that my SiL's db and family are coming back to the UK for Christmas unexpectedly (they live vvv far away and SiL's dm is v ill) and am thinking that this prob means that my db may be cancelling his plans to visit dm and us on Boxing Day. I will need to up my Christmas jollity plans, as otherwise ds will feel shortchanged by the lack of company.
Have still not done cards or even done a present audit. Oops.

Stropperella · 17/12/2016 10:50

Glad your work do provided some respite, BTM!

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/12/2016 11:09

My Secret Santa has arrived! Thank you!

Have made Christmas cake (special last minute one that doesn't need feeding) and maple walnut bread. Christmas tree in garden, ready to bring upstairs.

Have red wine shits.

Blackduck · 17/12/2016 11:29

I am feeling knackered - I look worse. I have bought bucket of greens and will drink loads of water. If I don't get some energy soon I will collapse before the big day....

Stropps great news.

WAF sorry things are gloomy.....

This weekend is big tidy as wont get a chance after this...

wordassociationfootball · 17/12/2016 11:42

Big Tidy here too BD. Getting green veg down you is a great idea.

'Will have to up Christmas jollity plans' Grin Stropps

Yes, BTM, glue = gruelling = you must be on your knees.

Am having 'can't see the point of anything' morning which is probably hangover based. It is also why Big Tidy might be paused in favour of Rest of Present Shopping. IL's are a nightmare to buy for. I made a list of what they like and it was: TV, Not having to wash up and How the kitchen /bathroom/car used to be before they changed/replaced it. I thought about getting them a nice potted plant to put on their barren patio then thought no, as they would just look at it like 'what are we supposed to do with this?' DH will go into town when we get to there's and get a voucher for one of the restaurants they go to to avoid washing up. Dreary, huh?

Shower now - did manage a run this morning. Then warm up some roasted veg and do a goat cheese omlette (sp?) for lunch, then go out.

wordassociationfootball · 17/12/2016 11:43

Beachy, any thoughts yet on your HRT?

GiddyGiddyGoat · 17/12/2016 11:44

Hi Crepes. Sorry I've been missing in action but I've been working on this mad Conference - and have just emerged from it after a week of very loooong days. It was great but am a bit done in and not feeling too bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to do the 1001 things I have left to do this w/e... Oh well. Christmas chez Giddy will be very low key which is fine with me.
My SS came a while ago and is sitting temptingly on a mantelpiece - thank you! Have sent mine out a week ago and hope it has arrived safely. Only realised when I looked for my SS's address that she had given me some (v good) suggestions on Elfster- so sorry about that!
Ds2 finished school for the hols yesterday so now have two hulking teenagers loafing about the house eating and making a mess. Lovely!

CointreauVersial · 17/12/2016 11:48

Postie has just knocked, bearing my Secret Santa gift! How exciting! It has gone under the tree (where it sits in solitary splendour, for no wrapping has been done).

Strops - I think motorway driving is actually easier and safer than rural roads.

BTM - how was work do "not as intended"?

MrsS - well done on your festive culinary endeavours. I really really want to make some mince pies, but keep forgetting to buy mincemeat. I also need to come up with an "alternative" Christmas Day dessert to take to DB's - any ideas? Six adults, five kids.

Crem - I'm wearing the shimmery pink Autograph nail varnish from the calendar, which I put on for the Christmas Do on Thursday. Clearly I applied it in the dark, because it's a bit blobby. I also put a big scrape in the thumbnail trying to help the MD fasten the button on his shirt collar. Hmm

Not too much going on today - DS wants me to take him shopping so he can raid Pandora for something for GF (and possibly invest a pound or two of his lavish earnings on his dear old ma and pa). He's currently snivelling with cold. Interesting contrast - both DS and DD2 are currently ill: DS wanders around with tissues stuck up his nostrils, making groaning noises and treating us to a detailed list of his current symptoms at regular intervals. DD2 just takes herself to bed and doesn't say a word.

Collected DD1 from sleepover this morning - DS (social media spy) brought to our attention some Snapchat posts from last night that clearly indicated alcohol consumption so she was quizzed in the car. She admitted to vodka and Red Bull Hmm but, like her mother, fell asleep before things got messy. We told her that's OK, as long as she doesn't ruin anyone else's evening (friends or parents) by overdoing it, and that it doesn't happen too often. And that she tells us. What else can one do?
