Thanks for Vancouver comments - you have confirmed my view that it will be a good holiday location.

Cocoa, Vancouver island was the initial attraction - I found a wilderness lodge that looks amazing and from where you can go bear watching and whale watching.

Rose - if you can dig out your travel company name that would be much appreciated as the company I have been speaking to so far are rubbish - their concept of tailor made seems to involve picking one of the itineraries off their website and putting your name at the top of it. I'm not sure why they bothered to ask me what we wanted as they have ignored everything I said - including the dates we want to go.

I need to get on with planning the next holiday as this one ends tomorrow and I need something in the diary to look forward to.

here you are MrsW

We found them helpful and flexible. When we are unsure about an aspect of a trip we then do our own research, e.g. If we find a better hotel than the suggested one we then ask the firm to get us a good price for it. They were happy to do this at the time. I will find our original itinerary and PM you with it. I wouldn't have wAnted to spend the whole trip on the island. I think we were in Victoria for about 4 days. DH and DS went on a whale watch
DD and I went shopping!! Agree with NU about Stanley park on the main land. Lovely, and they have open air theatre at night.
Am on phone waiting to pick up DD and DH off the train from Brighton. I have had a spirit lifting MU with beachy and then a mooch around the antique shops together. Smile
Will read properly and catch up shortly.

Oh yes, we need a new thread title soon. Anyone feeling creative?

Oh Herbs, I've seen your puss-cat update. :(

Thanks Rose. I didn't want to give the company I'd found my business - they need to learn some basics of customer service. But equally I want to book a holiday so do need some help - and now I have it. Thanks!
