Earth stood hard as iron, my heart like a stone.

I am off to sing, though really feeling quite dreadful.

herbaceous · 16/12/2016 16:02

Had lovely trip to Morden, to collect the 'merch'. Very swift journey home, too. Have stuffed item into understairs cupboard.

How about this for a bummer. Today was DS's school's Christmas Jumper day. I was so, uncharacteristically, organised I bought a jumper last week. It was lovely. It was so lovely that he wore it to our friends' pre-Christmas meal on Sunday. Where we got drunk. And he got hot. And took off his jumper. And left it there. A fact I only realised last night - I'd assumed DP had picked it up.

So this morning I was frantically pinning baubles on DS's sweatshirt, and draping battery-operated lights round his neck. Fortunately he thought this was marvellous.

Blackduck · 16/12/2016 16:22

I have had to do:
Fire safety training
Prevent
Unconscious bias.....

All on line - tres dull.

I am missing SS but really could not have been relied upon to reciprocate. I have three more presents to sort and cannot summon the energy.

Waiting for MrsS's updates...

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/12/2016 16:30

I am still quite sober and have not snogged anyone

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/12/2016 16:31

Soz

Blackduck · 16/12/2016 16:40

Still early Wink

herbaceous · 16/12/2016 17:02

Come on Mrs S. Put your back into it.

IDismyname · 16/12/2016 17:07

We're waiting Mrs S....

Collymollypuff · 16/12/2016 17:10

What a lovely mini-MU with Herbs. Thanks Mini-MUs in Morden are always available for Crepeys, and I may provide you with train sets, or indeed anything else you want from Carshalton. Just let me know. Grin Seriously, I am soooo easy to get to...the northern line even goes to the North...You must all come for lunch!

I think my SS has come! I overwhelmed the delivery man with my delight. Blush I posted my contribution last week.

Sorry. Not happening this year. My nemesis has gone home.

herbaceous · 16/12/2016 17:51

DAMN IT TO ALL HELL. Just found DS's Christmas jumper in his room. We did bring it home after all.

I have yet more work come my way. Feast, famine; rain, pour.

motherinferior · 16/12/2016 18:20

There's always the bus ride home, MrsS?

wordassociationfootball · 16/12/2016 18:21

I had two classes of wine so I could face writing my cards.... I have written two sensible ones and one utter tipsy unsendable jumble. Puts coat on, goes to Molly's Grin

My ss has arrived. Are we opening niw or o. The Day.

Mrs S - it's For The Best.

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/12/2016 18:42

Bored and going home

Cremolafoam · 16/12/2016 19:40

Meh to Christmas parties. Neither dh nor I made it too ours. Well I was sick, and dh was sick looking at his team. Mrs S go home and snooze on a cat. Far better than felt reindeer headband and an inappropriate grope.
You feeling about tired and emotional WAF? You ok?

Hatty I have polished this>Star up for you, You card 'shark' you.

Yay for train sets and Morden and other south London hoods.

Rose, thanks for the sympathy for the Big Weekend here. Piece of cake Cakenot. We are thinking of booking an ambulance to get staff home on Xmas eve. Hmm
Auriga, sounds peaceful and lovely. Hope you are taking things slowly and remembering to breathe.
You too Cocoa. Sorry you didn't sleep. I could've chatted with you as I lay in bed last night in that bizarre place between waking and sleeping, never quite tipping over into slumber.
I'd say mince pie, rest, repeat, sounds the way to go.

Dreary training Is My Name:
Procurement process and national Sourcing training ( my chin was on the table )
Recycling in the workplace ( a whole morning)
The state retirement pension for beginners.( tries not to yawn, scribbles spiral on notepad)

I won't go on. Diabolically dry and dull.
Now In a dressing gown with the hair mask from The Calendar on me hair. Looking gorgeous,Confused
Drawing breath before the weekend Directing of Humans.

motherinferior · 16/12/2016 19:47

Concert ok. Tomorrow's will be better.

Blackduck · 16/12/2016 20:30

I need a detox. I have lived on a diet of chips (or so it feels)... I am tired. I am going to bed and may instigate a salad diet tomorrow - I NEED greens...

herbaceous · 16/12/2016 20:59

Have discovered online British Library shop. This could be my DP gift-buying saviour.

Have passed Prevent assessment. Much easier after a glass of wine!

Have pinpointed feeling of bleugh to sinuses.

Now, further wine and HIGNFY.

Are you home yet, Mrs S? Or did you stay for 'just one more'?

BD - am with you on feeling the need to detox. But as always, I'm a bit 'Lord make me pure, but not yet...'

NUFC69 · 16/12/2016 21:05

It sounds grim, CV, but good luck with the influx of people. BD, it's always the way, I think; we get stressed and the healthy eating goes out of the window. Are you home yet, MrsS?

It's been almost like a deathbed scene here: DC have both been round to wish me well. DD bought books, DS fudge, so plenty to keep me occupied in my hospital bed. I have already taken my first pre op pill and feel decidedly woozy, so bed soon. See you on the other side....

motherinferior · 16/12/2016 21:10

Best of luck, NU.

The BL prints are fab, Herbs.

Off to bed here. Still really not feeling great.

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/12/2016 21:29

Still very dull. A Japanese man has joined us. .He is also full.

Cremolafoam · 16/12/2016 21:52

NU all the very very best for tomorrow. Nighty night.Flowers

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/12/2016 22:05

On bus. Head of dept told me that I terrify my boss. Ha, fuckity ha.

IDismyname · 16/12/2016 22:34

NU May it all go swimmingly tomorrow, and hope you get waited on hand and foot and knee afterwards.

Herbs good news on jobs.

In other news the phone rang this evening. It had 'International' on the handset. I've been ignoring them as The Microsoft Helpcentre has rediscovered my phone number and regularly tries to sort out my system via payment of a credit card- Grrrrr.

Anyway, it had International and an actual number, so I picked it up. It was DS who fell off his bike yesterday and dislocated his shoulder. The same one he dislocated about 14 months ago. I can't decide if that's worked out quite well in terms of timing, or I've got a slinged-up teenager for the next 2 weeks.

It's all back in the right place, and he just needs physio - or so he tells me. I hope his hugging capacity has not diminished.

CointreauVersial · 17/12/2016 00:58

Good luck, NU - hope it goes well.
