Herbs, BTM and Beachy WineBrewChocolate

I HAVE FINISHED WORK. I am going to have a shower and change!

herbaceous · 09/12/2016 19:39

It does rather look like it could be this weekend. But she has had these moments before, and rallied. This time is worse, apparently - DP couldn't elaborate as he was on a crowded Friday night train out of Paddington.

I feel that a photographer coming round to 'do me' on Sunday might not be totally in keeping.

Colly - do you have 'the merchandise'?

herbaceous · 09/12/2016 19:39

Also, there is no food or wine in the house, as thought DP would be home. An omelette and a gin and tonic it is, then...

bigTillyMint · 09/12/2016 19:46

Sounds perfect, Herbs! Though, sorry to hear DMIL is so ill.

Have a good night, Cremo and Addle (I thought you had already met up, or is this MU#2?)

Collymollypuff · 09/12/2016 20:11

Yes! I have a wonderful massive train set (and the rest) in the boot of my car!

The dh was VERY apologetic about the muddle last night and it turns out that A's parents live really near me. Anyway he is a nice man, so I'm sure all the bits are there. He did say it's quite challenging to build! I nearly said the Young Master is a genius though It could be a great distraction at this awful time for dp, ds and you.

herbaceous · 09/12/2016 20:19

Yay! Thank you so much once again. I'll be in touch about handover! And give me your bank details so I can repay asap.

A good construction distraction is probably what is required at this time. Haven't heard from DP...

DP and his sisters are with mil in a private room at the hospital. He's staying over that way overnight - he doesn't feel he can leave. Strange situation of not wanting to be there but not wanting to leave either.

And yes! Well remembered rudy! I did some modelling for a local frock agency, along with lots of other local mums. Fun!

Blackduck · 10/12/2016 08:03

Herbs any news?

herbaceous · 10/12/2016 08:18

She's hanging on, apparently. DP says 'she really wants to go but her body won't give up'. Sad

MrsSchadenfreude · 10/12/2016 08:39

Oh Herbs - I'm so sorry.

IDismyname · 10/12/2016 08:43

Herbs. Horrible, horrible time Flowers

Lalsy · 10/12/2016 08:50

Herbs, Sad. I hope she goes peacefully.

bigTillyMint · 10/12/2016 08:52

Oh Herbs, poor MIL. This is when modern medicine is so crap - surely there could be a way of helping her Sad Flowers

magimedi · 10/12/2016 08:53

So sorry, Herbs. Flowers

NUFC69 · 10/12/2016 09:09

How dreadful for you all, Herbs. I hope it doesn't go on too long for everyone's sake. Flowers

herbaceous · 10/12/2016 09:44

Just spoke to DP. No-one seems to know if it's hours or days. So difficult. And the nurses sound horrible. MiL has decided she doesn't want any more drugs, but ward sister just barged in, woke her up, instructed her to take painkillers, MiL refused, SiL backed her up and ward sister shouted at them all. Just show some sensitivity.

And DP's run out of clean pants.

Rosebag · 10/12/2016 09:44

I can't bear the suffering of that poor lady. So sorry Herbs Flowers

Stropperella · 10/12/2016 09:45

Oh Herbs, how miserable :( I am so sorry. Your poor Mil and your poor dp. It seems hardly any time since he lost his dad. Flowers for all of you.

motherinferior · 10/12/2016 09:52

Oh fuckit, Herbs, a grimly familiar tale. Same for DP's mum as well as my own. Agree totally about the fact we being people to this pass and then refuse to help them along the next inevitable step.Angry

Herbs so sorry. Get him/them to see consultant/dr and put things in place. We did for dmum when she was in hospital and they thought that was it. They did DNR and worked on making her comfortable.

Rosebag · 10/12/2016 10:10

For those Crepeys MUing today...I can't get hold of anyone to ask at the BL re. reserving a table so assuming one can't. Anyway, 2pm, Ist floor cafe at the BL. I too am finding an alternative route as the Picc line is still in a terrible state and there's football crowds to avoid as well.

Our gas supply is finally back on...the Brit Gas guy from yesterday came back (Transco having cut off the supply yesterday after I detected the leak) and said they've fixed it. I do hope so...I have had just about enough Angry altho it did mean it took the dilemma out of to cook or not to cook We ate at the theatre bar and DD had tinned soup heated in the microwave and cholla. Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 10/12/2016 10:56

Mmm, cholla! I worked near a Jewish bakery in Warsaw and used to go in and get cholla on a Friday - and would eat the entire warm loaf on the way back to the office.

So sorry about MIL Herbs, and agree with others on a lingering end. When my DDad died, the nurses turned up about an hour later to give him his meds. I met them at the door, told them, and they said "Oh OK" and turned to get back in the car. Not even "sorry to hear it" or asking how my mother was.

motherinferior · 10/12/2016 10:57

I'm feeling pretty dreadful but I really want to look at the maps I've ordered up in the BL...
