Ach....cords! Great news on the Seasalt ones Lalsy. I have received the Lands End ones....the are a beautiful burgundy and lovely quality...but like a lot of the reviews say, the sizing is on the small side...I don't like the resulting muffin top they give me but like the jeans so much I have gone for an exchange in a bigger size rare, as I'm very vain about size labels

Lovely mini MU, putting the world to right with Herbs this morning, who then left to discuss her mammaries with the press Grin.

But have annoyingly come home to the distinct smell of gas in our hallway and kitchen. Not happy as this follows quite a lot of work on our boiler by British Gas, who fitted a new heat exchanger and a new pump, yesterday having not passed it at its annual service the day before. So tiredly, I have called Gas Emergency who are now on their way. DH is of course, at his firms Xmas Lunch...

Lalsy · 09/12/2016 15:06

Rudy, I suppose it means you never have to ask them to Christmas lunch Grin?

Rose, I too returned my LE ones for a bigger size (so Seasalt ones will be one size smaller and short length and seem to me sized like White Stuff etc, if that helps). Bet the rest of you patient lot are glad the Cord Quest may be nearing its end!

You are a saint Grin. Allocate invitations at random to half of them?

magimedi · 09/12/2016 15:20

Rudy maybe you should go out on 27th & not be seen Grin

Lalsy - I have found that the Dylon washing machine dye to be excellent at turning clothes into the right colour - especially in the navy and black spectrum. So glad the cord hunt is over.

Rudy - all 30 of them? On the 27th? Coming to YOU??? Strewth Shock

If there are 30 of them, all his side of the family, but noone has partners, does that mean that they are divorced/whatever but have children?

Good plan to go away together - it will really speak volumes and you will have a lovely time with your DH Smile

Work was fine today. The little darlings weren't too horrified to see me back, but they were surprised at how long my "meeting" had taken Grin I am just hoping I will be able to keep on being there. Everything is so uncertain with DS Sad

MrsWobble3 · 09/12/2016 16:40

Hello everyone. Just to say there are some fantastic dhs out there. I'm on my way to meet mine to drive down to Devon after a team lunch which started late. I am an hour late and unable to share driving duties and he doesn't mind. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be as accommodating if roles were reversed. Wishing you all lovely weekends.

Blackduck · 09/12/2016 16:58

Rudy 30!?!? - rather you than me Grin
BTM glad work was okay. Fingers crossed with ds.
We are having a family dinner tomorrow that I am really not looking forward to because I think it will bring back lots of things. Dad didn't saying anything on Wednesday (their wedding anniversary)

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 09/12/2016 17:07

BTM, well done on getting back to work.

I'm suffering compassion fatigue Sad had so many calls today from ds; could I bring glasses? Could I collect? Actually, could I not collect, as something good had come up? I actually sent Dh in the end, who is now pootleing around a beautiful market town as young sir doesn't require his taxi service Angry

I am wiped and have bought steak and chips for tea. I suspect I will be in bed shortly after....

I cannot see an end to this.

Oh Beachy :(.
Ds (non specifically ill) has taken the brunt of dps general pissedoffness with his non showing students and they general 'slacker' attitude. In the end ds went back to school on Thursday to avoid him. I think the end of term can't come quick enough for all concerned...

Collymollypuff · 09/12/2016 17:36

MrsW, are the fantastic dhs available, though, should I choose to leave my very crap one?

Beachy and BTM, so sorry the struggle continues. But great that you're back at work, BTM.

CointreauVersial · 09/12/2016 17:53

Thank heavens it's Friday. Chatting in the car, the DCs mentioned they'd barely seen DH all week, and he seemed tired. I explained about work, visit of Boss and Boss Squared from NYC, presentations, dinners, blah blah....so when DH walked in just now he found a little arrangement of chilled glass of wine, slippers, remote control and bowl of crisps, together with a little note. All from DS.

Yes, WAF, it was very bonding spending time with DD2. Makes me realise I should do more 1:1 with them.

bigTillyMint · 09/12/2016 18:07

Oh Beachy, I know just how you feel about not being able to see an end to these nightmares we are both stuck in.

Aww CV, what a sweetie your DS is Smile And lovely to have bonding time with DD2.

motherinferior · 09/12/2016 18:11

I should probably admit that Mr Inferior is taking over supper again.

herbaceous · 09/12/2016 18:22

What mad afternoon.

Lovely brunch with Rose.

Telephone interview re boobs.

Three hours creating the most amazing Santa's grotto, complete with twinkling fireplace and fake snow.

Email asking my shoe size, as the photographer is going to bring hair, make up clothes and shoes! I presume I'll have to do a daily mail sad face too.

Another email from dp, saying mil is very much worse and he's dashed to the hospital. And that I 'should tell DS'. Though he didn't specify what, exactly.

Cremolafoam · 09/12/2016 18:31

On my way....

CointreauVersial · 09/12/2016 18:33

Oh heavens, Herbs. Hope MIL rallies.

Does this mean I will have to buy a copy of the DM? Ah well, it'll be worth it to see a dolled-up Herbs looking miserable in a low-cut top. Grin I forgot to ask how on earth you got roped into this? A few years ago I had to buy a copy of the Sunday Mirror because DS and a friend were taken to Alton Towers to review a load of rides and stay in a new hotel. Friend had journo aunty. Lucky bugger had a high old time.

hattymattie · 09/12/2016 18:34

Evening all. Have spent the day cleaning and organising. I think I am just about in control.

Rudy - I dont think I could cope with the logistics of thirty relations, hats off to you.

BTM - glad you've managed to get back to work.

Beachy - I dont know the details but it all sounds very difficult re DS.

Mrs S - well done on giving annoying boss what for, along with stylish exit.

Lalsy - quite enjoying cords saga.

Have bought SS, put it somewhere and can't remember whereXmas Confused. Have texted DD1 in London to bring me Christmas cards as I'd have to go into Paris to find them. She arrives tommorrow with BF. I need to think about what to feed them tomorrow night.

Collymollypuff · 09/12/2016 18:35

Herbs, sorry to hear about MIL. Does it sound like it's near the end?
