Just sticking my head above the parapet - have had a nasty set back with the labyrinthitis with it all going bad again & have felt very low & really have had nothing to offer. It (sshhh) seems to be going again & am just crossing fingers that I'll be OK for going away in 3 weeks time.

herbaceous · 22/11/2016 10:10

Hi BTM - put me down as a maybe. Realistically, I'll be lucky to get there but you never know! I may get a second wind...

A school has emailed me saying they want to buy/deliver my grammar course! They want to know how much I'd charge. I have absolutely no idea. £5? £1,000?

bigTillyMint · 22/11/2016 10:12

Aaargh!!!! Just called Cote to confirm booking and add an extra 1 or 2 - long story short, they haven't got space in the Covent Garden one, so we are rebooked in the Soho one - 124 Wardour St at 19.15. Also only a 10min walk from the usual cocktail place.

I have booked for:
BTM
Stropps
Monty
MI
GGG
MrsS
WAF
BD
Beachy
And Herbs as a possible

Hope this is right!

bigTillyMint · 22/11/2016 10:15

Herbs, that's great! My friend is a literacy consultant in London - shall I ask her how much she charges?

Oh no MMFlowers How horrible for youSad

motherinferior · 22/11/2016 10:19

MM, I'm so sorry.

Herbs, LOTS.

herbaceous · 22/11/2016 10:27

BTM - yes please!

I've had a look online, but there are about a gazillion companies creating and delivering courses to schools, none of which say their prices.

wordassociationfootball · 22/11/2016 10:35

I want a sheet mask.

Fantastic news, Herbs.

BTM - She's year 10 but I'm catastrophising ahead of time Smile. MI were you thrown by thinking 9 = A rather than A*+? I was.

MM - relapses are so hard to deal with. Hope this is just a quick lap of honour Flowers

CV your Dd1 often has la mot juste.

Crem - how was fillum, if you went?

I feel sad today for several reasons but I'm going to get my arse in gear and tick some stuff off my list. Taking mum to hairdressers later where they'll talk to her like she's a numpty and she'll smile and nod then tell me she couldn't hear them.

Have worked out my outfit for works drinks in a couple of weeks:. Black skinnies, cropped jacket, band T-shirt (Tuneyards to be specific) and navy suede Hudson ankle boots. I don't really do dressing up.

herbaceous · 22/11/2016 10:39

That's advanced thinking WAF! I'm out tonight, and have no idea what I'm going to wear.

Talking of speaking to mums like numpties, when I went with mine to the GP the doctor didn't address her, just me, and called my mum 'the lady'. As in 'the lady's been having difficulty with her xxx'. My mum is a super-bright no-nonsense organiser of the world. I wish I'd said something...

Lalsy · 22/11/2016 11:01

Magi, sorry to hear that, no wonder you feel low. Crossing everything it resolves quickly....

BTM, well done on getting counselling organised so quickly.

I am tired and feel a teeny bit sad. An old friend of my df's died recently and is going to have a similar headstone to him. They were such close friends, saw each other through a difficult time, and should have grown old together.

Cremolafoam · 22/11/2016 11:40

Lalsy that's very sadSad

Sorry I will have to write and run. Have caught Mrs S temperature and am really unwell damnit.
Shivering chills and stellar temps. Couldn't get warmed in the middle of night with socks, dressing gown, and electric blanket turned up to 3. I was The Judder Woman. Now thick headed and shattered. Drinking pints of water and self medicating with paracetamol.
Vile.

Thanks for the thread Monty Flowers

Collymollypuff · 22/11/2016 12:28

Oh, BTM, I have fallen off the list for Cote! I think it's because Monty and Molly are so similar. Shock Can I still come? I'm only a little one. Grin

Collymollypuff · 22/11/2016 12:37

...and thank you so much for organising it, BTM. I am organising something similar for my course mates and it is a complete PITA. One always thinks it'll be easy, but no, there are complications...like me having a name too much like Monty's.

WAF, I do so recommend catastrophising ahead of time. I do it all the time, hence my astonishing success in life and perfect happiness. In this season of goodwill, I'm reminded of how much I absolutely fear parties and think of every excuse not to go, even though I am by nature a party animal and love them once I get there. Confused

motherinferior · 22/11/2016 12:40

WAF, a sheet mask can be purchased at a range of high street emporia (ie Superdrug) at very reasonable price for the joy it brings.

Lalsy · 22/11/2016 12:46

Crem, is this your week off? What a waste. Hope you feel much better soon. How is dd?

Colly Grin.

MI, joy - and fear - bargain!

bigTillyMint · 22/11/2016 13:01

So sorry Molly - I will reinstate you!

BTM
Stropps
Monty

WAF

Beachy
Molly
And Herbs as a possible

bigTillyMint · 22/11/2016 13:04

Cremo, how effing annoying that you have a bug in your week off. But I suppose it's because you are relaxed.

Counselling went OK - the counsellor is nice and I spent the whole session telling her about DS's medical condition and the challenges. Must now transfer the payment!

bigTillyMint · 22/11/2016 13:09
addle · 22/11/2016 13:20

MM Flowers hope is still keeping at bay

WAF hope you had good evening with dsis the other night. also, I too like the tuneyards

Molly excellent description of my own approach to life, made me laugh

BTM glad counselling went well

Lalsy that is sad

Working from home and feeling obscurely shifty about taking lunch break

Crem hope you're staying in bed with lots of painkillers and it passes soon

CointreauVersial · 22/11/2016 13:38

Crem - if we are ill during booked holiday, the days can be "reclaimed" and taken again at a later date - see if you can do the same.

Herbs - google similar course-prices, then Go Large.

Sorry to hear you've succumbed again, Magi. It sounds awful.

Cremolafoam · 22/11/2016 13:58

Hi there, cv I will get a few days back in January as it isn't practical to take any hours off now.
Am quite delirious. Temp is pumping away and I'm very hot. Lying prone in bed watching the Crown, which is utter drivel,, but restful. Only have to get up for Sainsbury's delivery chap at 4pm.

wordassociationfootball · 22/11/2016 14:25

Mum is sucking a sweet really noisily and clattering it against her teeth. I am in her shuttered sitting room while she reads DDS reports. Wish I felt sweeter and less humbug.

motherinferior · 22/11/2016 15:14

Oh god there is a really depressing thread full of posters lamenting age and aches and 'making the best' of their looks. Shall I recommend a few cheering piercings?

hattymattie · 22/11/2016 17:05

GrinAngryTrump has suggested Farage as British Ambassador to Washington. It just gets more and more surreal!

Gingerbread houses done and not too many sweets eaten.

Herbs - fab news on grammar course.

IDismyname · 22/11/2016 17:06

I didn't think that 'cheering' and 'piercings' could be used in the same sentence... !

motherinferior · 22/11/2016 17:14

I'm fighting the urge for more in my ears, cocoa.GrinI am loving my array of little sparklers.
