Oh Dry that's great to hear. I've ordered some on the basis that if they fit they are a steal at 20% off. Love the sound of your Liberty outfit - was supposed to be going there today for a mooch but my friend cancelled. Ho hum.

On the plus side, I found a pair of Penelope Chilvers boots under the bed I had forgotten about.

libertydoddle · 19/11/2016 08:34

Love finding great things you had forgotten very!!

Blush at the homage dry. Great outfit. That look (boots, opaques, short a-line skirt, fitted sweater) is one of my favourites.

libertydoddle · 19/11/2016 08:37

shop I think I remember you saying your DS got lots of paw patrol stuff for Christmas last year. Did he play with it a lot and how robust is it? DD has it on her Christmas list and I am debating if it's worth it.

shopafrolic · 19/11/2016 08:49

Hey Lib - I just sold our lookout tower as he never played with it (more interested in the vehicles). All robust. None of it has broken in the year we have had it.

libertydoddle · 19/11/2016 09:14

Thanks shop. I think we'll skip the tower then and get some of the vehicles and characters. The tower is just a pita to store too and I'm trying to keep the clutter down.

Drywhitethanks · 19/11/2016 12:28

I'm braving town this afternoon.....it's going to be heaving Sad

Everyonelovessparkles · 19/11/2016 12:47

I thought the disco had massively increased in price too. I was thinking of getting a black one but not sure it's worth it now??

Hope you're feeling a bit better blingy.

I have a m&s 20% off code that can be used online it's WT6F29.

Nice autumn day here today. Wearing my plum fine cord skirt and a black jumper. The black looks ok but anyone got any ideas of what other colours I could try with it. Its knee length, straightish with a gold button.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 19/11/2016 14:45

How about camel everyone? Or navy if you can't wear warm colours.

I'm unbelievably fed up and need a moan, sorry. Our plumber has dicked us around and is now ignoring our calls. We aren't expecting the boiler to be fixed until at least Monday, and we can't just call someone else because they would need to order the part, which this guy may or may not have done. I'm fuming as I would never get away with treating clients so shoddily in my job. He clearly doesn't want repeat custom! But the worst thing is DH told me last weekend that the dishwasher and washing machine used hot water from the boiler and yesterday I found out they do not. I've been washing up by hand with water from the kettle! But didn't run out of clean clothes, naturally I was so angry I cried! Life is shit right now!! Angry

FedupNagging · 19/11/2016 15:21

Oh Blair you need some Flowers. Similar scenario happened to mil - elderly, frail, unwell and without heat or hot water in January for several weeks Shock so when we found out we called British Gas and signed her up to a boiler plan and they got an engineer out within 24hrs. Dh then called the plumber and told him to take a hike or words to that effect ! Could you do similar?

Blingy hope you're feeling better today.

Everyone plum looks really nice with either navy or cream too.

Gorgeous bags Lara and Happy

No fashion news from me but I have some work next week and will definitely copy channel Lib and Dry with the pencil skirt, jumper and boot look.

Thats awful Blair Flowers hope DH is recovering ok.

Blingy hope you're feeling better.

I collected my M&S order this morning & they're all keepers. Even though the dress is polyester, it's very nice & the shape suits me. In tesco this morning I bought a very nice pleather A line skirt for the bargainous price of £14.

im fighting off the beginings of a cold so am on the sofa under a blanket contemplating a medicinal brandy.Smile

Dreamqueen · 19/11/2016 15:34

Forgot to say, I bought the last present this morning! Only wrapping to finish. Grin

Everyonelovessparkles · 19/11/2016 17:46

blair what a nightmare with the plumber. Hope you get it sorted soon. Here's some WineWineWine to get you through the weekend!

Glad you like your m&s orders dream. Bargain f&f skirt too. You're very organised with your present buying. I've done a fair bit but still got stuff to order.

Thanks for the suggestions to wear with the plum skirt. I think I'll have a look for a cream jumper as that would go with a few things. Just enjoying a Wine or two. I find it just takes the edge off the bath and bedtime routine after a long week Grin

Drywhitethanks · 19/11/2016 18:07

Oh Blair that's so stressful, really crap, so sorry for you.

Everyone plum looks great with camel, grey, mustard, cream ...I lov e plum and animal print with tan accessories.

So I tried Bare Minerals. WOW.....it's brilliant stuff. Went with no foundation and the SA did my face, I bought the lot......primer, lighter "Complexion rescue" which is like a bb cream, a more matte finish compact foundation for evenings, and their "perfecting veil" Hmm which is what normal people call "powder" Grin...... Bit of a splurge but well worth it, my face looks amazing. I went to Boots and bought a Real Techniques brush for half the price of the BM one though thrifty aren't I ?

Also had a bit of a success in Tacky Maxx found at last a 100% fine merino burgundy slouchy sweater with v fitted sleeves. Happy Smile

But, goodness, it was heaving.

AmberNectarine · 19/11/2016 19:21

Evening all. Spent day shopping with my DM today. Didn't get much, just a couple of heattech vests and a cashmere scarf from Uniqlo and some bits for the kids.

We've found a house we are excited about though, so was taking a keen interest in interiors. It has a dressing room - finally my shoes may be appropriately housed!

libertydoddle · 19/11/2016 19:55

Envy at dressing room Amber. Someday I WILL have one.

Big hugs Blair. I don't think I be able to speak to DH in similar circs especially if I had hand washed his stuff. That is shocking customer service from the boiler man.

Dream glad to hear all the M&S purchases were good.

Everyone I am hunting for the perfect cream sweater too.

libertydoddle · 19/11/2016 19:57

dry I love mineral veil, it's great stuff. Does the compact foundation have to be applied with a brush or has it a sponge?

Drywhitethanks · 19/11/2016 20:02

The SA applied it with a brush, telling me to start at the outside of my face and go inwards so it wasn't too heavy in the middle iykwim.

QueenCobalt · 19/11/2016 20:08

Hello! Enjoying wine and strictly. Love Claudias dress.
blair that sounds like a nightmare. Such an arse when workmen don't deliver what they promise.
amber sounds exciting-are you moving?
dry the make up sounds fab
everyone depending on the shade of plum you could try another berry shade, sort of cranberry/raspberry or you could try a paler shade of lilac/pink or a pale blue. Depends on your colouring and what suits...

Ooh, voting open, must go....

libertydoddle · 19/11/2016 21:08

I must go and investigate Dry Smile Thanks

Drywhitethanks · 19/11/2016 22:08

Shop meant to say, tell your cousin to pop in for a cuppa .....5mins Smile

Topazandpearl · 19/11/2016 22:26

Oh Blair how awful! It is so frustrating when things like that happen. Twice, in two different houses, we ended up being without a working boiler over Christmas, when there is no chance of getting someone out! (I reckon the third Christmas disaster was when the oven element blew when I was baking mince pies on Christmas Eve- that was another fun one Hmm).
I hope you get it sorted quickly.
I am lazy when it comes to make-up, and stick with the same-old. I know I should branch out.
Shopping news: I had decided that I wanted a pair of Ugg-type boots for indoor slipper use as a Christmas present. I didn't necessarily want Uggs, so was considering Celtic and Co. A search on MN, led me to the Costco equivalent (will link in a minute). Even with the membership fee, they seemed a bargain. Well, we visited our nearest branch, and bought them (along with bargainous multipacks of household staples). At that price, they count as a 'minor' present. Will return for more bargain-hunting.

Topazandpearl · 19/11/2016 22:28

Costco Ugg-type boots

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 20/11/2016 13:39

Thanks all. I'm going to my sister's in a bit for a shower. She recently moved further away or I would have been over there already! Will be bliss!

Topaz we love Costco, I have the sheepskin Ugg-alike slippers (not boots) and have just bought them for SIL too.

AmberNectarine · 20/11/2016 15:14

Nabbed these with the extra 20% off earlier - hope they fit!

Topazandpearl · 20/11/2016 18:18

Lovely colour Amber, will really suit you!
