Poppy - nightmare. Agree it's totally illogical. GM was sending carers packing at a stage when she was unable to wash herself or prepare food. And DM over 100 miles away. Are we going to be like that?

Herbs - I was thinking of you earlier - I had an excellent Kitchen Karaoke session while cooking dinner, singing along to the splendidly crepey Desmond Carrington and his 70s choons. Gladys Knight and the Pips, no less. I shall be bereft at the end of October when Desmond retires and I won't get my Friday evening fix. By the way, I was cooking MrsS's famous Groundnut Chicken Stew. Mmmm.

Here's something interesting (and mildly disturbing) I found out today....have you heard of "egg opening" videos? People filming themselves opening those little egg toys (like Kinder eggs without the chocolate) and taking out the toy inside. That's all. Hundreds of videos, hundreds of eggs - there's one with 9m views - and the littlies are addicted, apparently. My colleague's 3yo watches them over and over. Like "haul" videos for the pre-shopping generation. Madness!

My dm has said she would like a live in carer - ideally a Nice Young Man. And a capsule space-age lift.

He has finally finished, grumbled about the state of the freezer and helped himself to a choc ice. I am still Quite Annoyed.

Pinkpoppy, I can only empathise. My dps are the same. Apparently a considered and paid for by the LA package is 'just annoying' to my dps.They sent the carers packing after 2days and are now having to go private.

The lovely doc who saw DS yesterday has just rung. His bloods are back and his White Blood Cell count is very low. He will have to go for further tests to find out why. And if he gets an infection, we have to take him to A&E immediately because he won't be able to fight the infection.

Thank god he is out.
