Rose so sorry to hear about director and being personal is not on.

Sorry having trouble catching up as busy week, no iPad and tres tired.

Today will be no fun as telling team member I can't give her the hours she wants - this will then go to appeal.....

Blackduck · 05/10/2016 07:03

For those not on FB - Flash enjoying the last of the Greek sun....

addle · 05/10/2016 07:10

Good luck BD - and Flash looks vvv sweet

Rose - stupid director but well done for standing your ground. personal stuff really poor

Here I have to push back on someone who wants my team to do something we have neither the capacity nor the skills for and when I explained that, said, would it change your mind if I told you this is VERY important for the company, in a rather mafioso tone of voice

Blackduck · 05/10/2016 07:13

Addie I too am fighting 'mission creep'. - I need to have a convo today along the lines of 'not my job'. Previously I was fairly amenable if I had time, but I have no time and no capacity....

CointreauVersial · 05/10/2016 08:21

Mission creep is the bane of my life. Yesterday, they asked me to do some recruitment, ffs.

Flash looks like a real character, and very lively! Not long to wait now.....

Lalsy · 05/10/2016 08:40

Hello Flash!

Pah about mission creep. Addle, wtf? That's awful. I hate it when a statement of external reality is twisted to be being about belief or opinion too (realise that's not quite what happened, but tinged with it?).

My internet issue is making me very belligerent (my days are disrupted and tiring as lugging laptop). Any mansplaining is not going down well with me at the moment. And just heard the Home Sec claim her speech yesterday was carefully phrased....god help us.

Crem, bonne chance et courage! I suggest hard liquor - a secret stash of something lovely and soothing to sip throughout the day, in the Pineau line perhaps? Something that is OK to crack into at 11 am anyway.

Lalsy · 05/10/2016 08:53

Rose, that all sounds horrible. Had there been any hint of it before?

Rosebag · 05/10/2016 09:18

No absolutely none Lalsy I have had a sleepless night. Clearly when one argues with god, it disrupts the Elizabethan Natural Order... Hmm He's emailed that he's continuing with the amendments...and will send me something to look at some time today. I am hoping that it's the amendments I sent him and not the other way around. It was a friendly message but we'll see. Like I said there's an uneasy truce but the battle is still on. I'm hoping he's a bit contrite and realises he overstepped the mark. I really didn't see it coming. ConS is being supportive but distant. We did have a long 'phone convo last night, and loads of subsequent texts. Anyway, I've just drafted the programme trying to be optimistic. Fed up, so I am. Sorry I haven't caught up...I will come back soon with messages to you all like I usually do. xx

motherinferior · 05/10/2016 09:37

Must not show DD2 Flashpic. Noo. She so wants a doggie.

Cremo, agree on booze. Flora, how's your AP sitch? FE, how was your night out?

I am arrayed in black for the funeral later today.

motherinferior · 05/10/2016 09:49

Rose, that is just awful. I'm so sorry. What is it with this 'I have a Y chromosome so obviously I am right, little lady' effing mentality???

wordassociationfootball · 05/10/2016 10:00

Rose, that is shite, I am so sorry. It's difficult enough to have disagreements around the work but to get personally criticised too.... Be strong. KOBO and 'did you mean to be rude?' And hand up, no eye contact. Try not to take it personally. He wants control of the work and he's trying to weaken/upset you to get his way. Is there a client/service provider between you? Perhaps if so, remind him of that.

wordassociationfootball · 05/10/2016 10:01

missing word in last sentence: situation.

Auriga · 05/10/2016 10:02

Carefully phrased Lalsy? Where are all these hundreds of universities hiding, then? I wouldn't want to miss any likely ones.

wordassociationfootball · 05/10/2016 10:18

This is what's happening at my house. Pancakes in Dd2s name, strawberries, bunting, excitement, 12 badge and off to school. Phew. I managed to slip on the stairs but only slightly sore shoulder and sprayed the hall with the £2.80 dinner money I was holding.

Aww, sounds like a lovely birthday breakfast! Can you not top-up online WAF?

Sorry to hear of Mission Creep and Play Creep - don't let the bastards grind you down.

Cremo, booze and £££4G Roaming are your friends. Then you can drunkenly moan away to us!

On my way back to work after a meeting - beautiful sunny day but rather windy - thank God I put my lacy knickers on Grin

Cremolafoam · 05/10/2016 11:08

Aw Flash you are gorgeous! He looks like a big cuddly character. No wonder you wanted him BD.Smile

Rose, typical directorial hooha isn't it? Trying to put his quite unnecessary stamp on the thing. Fight him all the way. No,wonder you're upset Rose. It's personal. And the mansplaining is infuriating. Angryoyb.
Grr.

Thanks Lalsy and MI RE mum situation. Quite surprisingly she has accepted that the hotel I booked for the last night is lovely. tumble weed @ @ @

Waf birthday celebrations are lovely. Hope dd suitably pleased.Grinloving the balloons.

motherinferior · 05/10/2016 11:09

I'm sure you were a joy to all, BTMGrin

Don't talk about topping up - strictly cash economy ATM, necessitating many frantic last-minute texts of 'I took a fiver' here too.

bigTillyMint · 05/10/2016 11:50

Seriously? No ParentPay? Shock

Cremo, hooray for the hotel!

Lalsy, I am in awe of how calm you are keeping re your internet sitch (Addle filled me in) - how fucking unbearable for you all Flowerswine]Chocolate

motherinferior · 05/10/2016 11:57

Oh we do have PP for the big stuff. It's lunch that's all cash.Angry

Collymollypuff · 05/10/2016 12:12

I have many disagreeable things to do today, Crepeys. Despite the sunshine I am tempted to hide under a duvet. Maybe I should put on some lacy knickers and cavort on the Common though.

bigTillyMint · 05/10/2016 12:14

Do it, MollyGrin

Collymollypuff · 05/10/2016 12:39

Grin I'm on it.

herbaceous · 05/10/2016 12:49

This wind seems to be making all you crepey very frisky. Lacy knickers indeed.

In 'admin creep' news, I had been wavering about wanting this potential job, but have just been informed that whenever a learner is absent from a lesson we have to mark it on the register online, mark it on the paper register, contact the learner, report the absence on the absence form, and record it online. As at least four if my learners don't turn up each lesson that's 30 minutes of admin right there.

I also have to create targets for each learner on their individual learning plans, on another form, and online in two separate systems. The same for assessments.

In the meantime only one printer works, not the one in my classroom, and there's no paper as someone didn't pay a bill. When there is paper it's locked in a cupboard and you have to ask a particular person for the key.

I've lost my security pass, but am not admitting it. Imagine the admin.

Blackduck · 05/10/2016 12:55

PP is my friend - I couldn't imagine having to give ds actual money for his lunch/drinks........ All power to the finger.... :)
