So I'm having drinks with Gordon at No 11 next week - what should I wear?

Smallish event. Early evening, will probably go out for dinner afterwards (not with the big G!).
Don't want to look like I'm up from the cuntry and overdressed, don't want to turn up in smart day wear if in fact everyone else is in cocktail dresses.

Straw poll then - what do you think?

I too have " no waist" to speak of I never had. BC (before children) it was called boyish figure, now pph Im not sure!
When we went to no. 10 (due to dh being big cheese in city - I think!) I wore NAVY. Low waisted dress by Jenny Dyer, some fab family rocks and killer high heels and a Boss (chavvy but gorge) navy cash. coat - that was that.
I like to think I looked quite simple (ha!) from afar, but interesting up close.
Helps to have had large G and T before, and then Aqua minerale so you look v serious or have a very interesting past - if only you could remember it!!
