He is talking about renting this for a formal do. I'm sure he's kidding. He has to be kidding, right?

Sorry I have lost the hang of keeping up with this fast moving young person's message board malarkey

I am doing a party on Sunday, sorry

I can only see you if DP wears the suit, anyway

NotQuiteCockney · 31/01/2007 21:12

Oh, no stress, it's pretty last minute.

NadineBaggott · 31/01/2007 21:13

isn't there a cartoon who dresses like that, with a green face? or red? it's driving me nuts, who is it?

QueenofQuinoa · 31/01/2007 21:13

I will email and we will set a proper date. Can we all wear suits?

QueenofQuinoa · 31/01/2007 21:14

at Aitch

oh, do you mean she really has???

NotQuiteCockney · 31/01/2007 21:14

You're thinking of The Mask. He wears a zoot suit.

NotQuiteCockney · 31/01/2007 21:15

Both DH and I own reasonable numbers of suits.

Am doing FIL birthday thing on Sunday.
they might notice if I don't go

QueenofQuinoa · 31/01/2007 21:20

Aitch is she ok, or is this my first documented wnaky basket injury, and why are you C Phillips? (suspects it is some tv thing I won't get)

CarolinePhillips · 31/01/2007 21:20

she really has. daft girl. she has been wearing it as a scarf so my worries were primarily of the isadora duncan variety. couldn't have predicted she'd have lamped herself with it in the traditional manner.

nqc, my friend, for some reason, decided to shave his beard to a pencil moustache on my wedding day and slick his hair back in teh mafia style. he's australian and not especially cool.
anyway, he was doing a reading at the service so the first i saw of it was when he stood on the altar. i don't quite know what came over me but apparently i hissed 'he's fkn drawn that on!' to dh, which the whole church heard.

there followed a tense wait to find out if my mum's very elegant italian friend had caught it on video tape forever...

CarolinePhillips · 31/01/2007 21:22

CP is a journalist whose house was damaged in the great London tornado of 2006. worst writer ever. absolutely worth googling, imho.

QueenofQuinoa · 31/01/2007 21:26

at black eye

please don't sue

NotQuiteCockney · 31/01/2007 21:28

I knew I recognised the name from somewhere! That was a great article.

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 31/01/2007 21:29

SUE her aitch SUE her
I can help

QueenofQuinoa · 31/01/2007 21:29
Shock
AitchTwoOh · 31/01/2007 21:34

wasn't it? i've never looked at a clementine the same way since.

i will not sue, harpsi, shame on you. it was a valuable learning experience for dd. (don't scare off the queen, she's still a bit skittish).

i'm less keen on the fact that she's learned that pine cones taste like shit but that she nevertheless likes to post them into my mouth. she finds that hilarious, even through her blackened eyes...

QueenofQuinoa · 31/01/2007 21:38

She blackened them both?

AitchTwoOh · 31/01/2007 21:43

nah, just one. and it's mainly the bridge of her nose. and it wouldn't have happened if i'd been sitting closer. honestly, she's a nut, she was whirling it around her head at speed.

bran · 31/01/2007 21:50

I've met Mr NQC, and I think you're right NQC that he's not the right body-shape for this. These suits are only really suited to runty types, your dh is big and manly. In fact, I would be surprised if they even stock it in his size.

If he wants to look different I reckon he'd cut a dash in a kilt, he's tall enough for it and he's got wide shoulders which makes a kilt look very hunky.
