What do you wear with tan Chelsea boots?

I have a thing for flat Chelsea boots. I've always bought a cheap high street pair every winter, but last year invested in a black pair of Dr Martens ones and they are amazing.

I've just picked up a tan pair of the same Dr Martens in the Office sale for an absolute bargain (reduced to £67 then an extra 25% off with a code) and they looks beautiful, but I don't know what I'd wear them with. The black just seem to go with everything.

In winter I usually wear a dress (I generally swing towards navy, grey, burgundy colours) with black tights and a camel wool coat.

Would this go with the tan boots or not? I feel weird about wearing black tights with tan boots!

I always think of tan as a neutral, so yes I think it goes with just about everything - apart from maybe grey and also brown (too clashy or matchy). Definitely fine with black.

Thanks flump. I've not really worn tan before as I've always avoided it for this same reason! Will give them a try and hopefully they work Smile

Do you use Pinterest? It's fab for a bit of styling inspiration - search tan chelsea boots and you will see loads of different outfit/colour combos.

I waste hours on there!

JellyBea · 09/08/2016 14:09

I had a look but could only find mostly men wearing jeans haha!

They go well with plenty of colours. They are really, really nice boots, I'm waiting for a pair to arrive too.

JellyBea · 09/08/2016 14:18

Sucking they are so comfortable and served me very well in the snow and ice through winter (I live up on the moors in Yorkshire and it was bad here!). I really want some of the cherry red ones but couldn't resist the tan at that price.

Ooooh, this is great to hear, Jelly! I was looking for boots that I can wear all winter so your words are music to my feet! So excited to get them! The cherry ones are great, too, but tan is very versatile, I think.

Brillenbar · 09/08/2016 17:02

Try wearing grey tights with tan boots rather than black it's less of a contrast and I think it works well

JellyBea · 09/08/2016 17:14

Grey tights is a good shout. I'd never think of trying that.

Can't wait for them to arrive now! I'm willing Autumn to arrive now Grin

How long do you reckon they take to break in?

UncleHerbie · 09/08/2016 22:55

Tan with navy or dark green works too

JellyBea · 10/08/2016 10:04

I didn't have to break my other ones in at all. They were comfortable from the start! Only very slightly narrow around my toes but they loosened up almost straight away. I know Dr Martens are notorious for breaking in but I was pleasantly surprised with this style!

Herbie I love navy and dark green so that's music to my ears.

They are lovely...I have succumbed!

JellyBea · 10/08/2016 10:22

Total bargain too!!

GypsyFl0ss · 10/08/2016 10:28

Absolutely, thankyou for the heads up.

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 10/08/2016 10:28

Cream merino wool tights would go nicely too with them. I've just googled them, they look lovely OP (I may get them myself). Where did you get the 15% code?

GypsyFl0ss · 10/08/2016 10:29

If you put EXTRA into the promo box it gives you another 25% off their sale price.

StandoutMop · 10/08/2016 10:39

Just ordered myself a pair. Code Extra gets another 25% off, so £53.50 including delivery - bargain!

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 10/08/2016 11:02

Duh, the code is written all over the banner on the website, silly me.

jenniuol · 10/08/2016 11:58

Thanks op, have just ordered a pair! Eyed these up last year but decided they were too expensive but at that price I couldn't resist. Just hoping they fit! I'm usually a 6 but find Chelsea boots in general can be quite small. Dithered over ordering a 7 but my feet are narrow so usually a 7 is too wide.

dottyaboutstripes · 10/08/2016 12:06

I've worn my tan Chelsea boots to death so I'm really glad you brought this bargain to my attention! Have also ordered and really hope they are comfy! I've been looking for black boots so maybe I'll order these in black too if they're good on my weird feet.
Btw I wear navy a LOT with mine

JellyBea · 10/08/2016 12:39

Ahh I'm glad I've been helpful for so many people! Grin

These will be the new MN boots! My feet are narrow and I am a 6 so crossing my fingers they fit!!

Yes, cream and navy could work well.
