What do you wear with tan Chelsea boots?

I have a thing for flat Chelsea boots. I've always bought a cheap high street pair every winter, but last year invested in a black pair of Dr Martens ones and they are amazing.

I've just picked up a tan pair of the same Dr Martens in the Office sale for an absolute bargain (reduced to £67 then an extra 25% off with a code) and they looks beautiful, but I don't know what I'd wear them with. The black just seem to go with everything.

In winter I usually wear a dress (I generally swing towards navy, grey, burgundy colours) with black tights and a camel wool coat.

Would this go with the tan boots or not? I feel weird about wearing black tights with tan boots!

My legs would look horrendous in a pair of cream tights. Thanks for the suggestion though Grin

Mine arrived today. They are absolutely lovely! I'm still not convinced I'll get any wear out of them though. Need to have a proper try on with various outfits. I'm yet to go shopping for Autumn/winter stuff as I've lost weight and need some new bits, so I suppose I could buy some clothes to go with them Grin

Pic?! Grin

StarJumpAlertTakeCover · 12/08/2016 05:00

I ordered these boots too! They're coming later today I think.
Good grief this menopause ( sleepless nights) is proving expensive Wink
I'm a bit concerned about the colour though....hope not too.......orange Confused
I too have lost a lot of weight, have never before been able to shop for clothes in the usual places, only plus size etc. So I'm starting to develop my style from scratch. I've been watching responses here with interest, as I have no idea what will work with these boots..... pathetic I know
And perhaps I am too old for them really Hmm

Here's a couple of photos. Excuse the child and black leggings!

Do you think they look a bit orangey? I'm not sure about them.

Mine just arrived. I'm sending them back, they are a bit big but also orangey. My ds said "That colour is just messed up"
Well worth a punt but just not for me

JellyBea · 12/08/2016 15:41

Yes I've decided to send mine back too. I may have just ordered the cherry red version instead..

Oh, I really like them and actually prefer them in the photos which look slightly more orange than tan. I think they really suit you and go really well with the coat.

I ordered them too (thanks Jelly) and although wouldn't normally consider Doc's I thought they looked an interesting variation on the classic Chelsea boot.

They should arrive in the next day or two but I had to order a 6 as 7 had all sold out so I'm hoping they fit my 6.5 feet.

JellyBea · 12/08/2016 15:50

Wine I am sure they will fit. They are pretty roomy (I wear my black ones with 2 pairs of socks!). I have one foot a size larger than the other so had to get a 6 as the 5 was too small on one foot but fit lovely on the other. I usually wear a 6 in all other shoes.

I've got mine now too and can't decide what to wear them with! Argh. They're lovely boots, though. Yours look good on you, jelly

SuckingEggs · 13/08/2016 01:00

Yeah. Hmm. I'm not sure. I want to love them. But...

StarJumpAlertTakeCover · 13/08/2016 02:08

Oh.......
Do I like them??? I'm really not sure....
I keep walking past them and thinking they look a bit.....well I'm not sure!
They are roomy and would be very very comfortable. But I think it's the colour...
Fab quality though.
What do the cherry red look like? Any pics Jelly?

JellyBea · 13/08/2016 08:37

It's weird isn't it. I'm sure it's the colour which looks a bit off for me.

I'm waiting for the cherry red to be delivered but they look like this. I almost got them last year but decided on the black instead. Tried them on in the Dr Martens shop. They are lovely in the flesh! These were more expensive at £75 but still a lot cheaper than elsewhere (£110 in the DM shop).

Oh now what's happened?

Got to be bed at three last night after having all the neighbours in, and remembered that I also have accidentally ordered the cherry red ....
......and the black.....
Which is totally sensible if you think about it as one should do thorough research before committing to life long ownership Halo
I'm always wearing blues, greys, pinks so it would make more sense don't you think?
Even so those boots for the price.... Hmm

JellyBea · 13/08/2016 10:12

Star Grin You can't really grumble at 50 quid can you.

I tried my black ones on yesterday and remembered how comfy they are. It was like putting a pair of slippers on!

winefairyagain · 13/08/2016 11:47

Well mine just arrived and I love them. Thanks so much Jelly

The colour is perfect for me and the size 6 fit ridiculously well so I'm extremely happy.

However.......the right boot has two deep scratches on the toe, very small so I think I can live with it rather than endure the hassle of exchanging them.

It's also noticeably more worn in (in fit, not appearance apart from the scratches) so I'm guessing it's been on the shop floor. I may have to walk around inside in only the left one until it catches up! Grin

SuckingEggs · 13/08/2016 12:04

What do you reckon? Too orange? Only wear skinnies - these are ones I happened to have on and they are 7/8 so look short but longer would look bad, I'm thinking?

I don't think they are too orange, they look lovely. I've ordered them too, I toyed with the grey but the theyre £75 with no code & these look more versatile.

GypsyFl0ss · 13/08/2016 13:32

Mine have arrived and I love them. Thankyou Jellybea! As I'm a 5.5 I've had to put an insole in and will need to wear thicker socks but I can live with that. Now I want some cherry ones...

GypsyFl0ss · 13/08/2016 13:36

Where did you find them for £75?
