Aside from leather jackets, coats, etc?

I am currently lusting after a skirt but I have never bought a skirt around this price. My clothes are mostly in the $50 range.

Clothes wise probably a leather jacket or a silk dress I have. Both around £300 mark. Hardly worn I might add!

Accessory wise would be handbags! £8/900.

My wedding dress!! Now living under the bed!
Strange I felt OK paying £1200 for it, to wear once, but come out in a cold sweat spending over £200 on a coat or bag that I will wear loads!

MadSprocker · 05/08/2016 09:41

A dress to wear to a big work do my husband is having next year.

Everyday stuff, my Joules waterproof coat. Worth every penny.

jingscrivvens · 05/08/2016 09:44

£300 on a pair of Prada shoes about 12 years ago. They are a beautiful lime green silk and I've only worn them 2/3 times because I'm too scared they get anything on them!
I bought them because I had just broken up with a boyfriend, he owed me some money so I bought them with that (& a paul smith purse). I loved them so much that I used to just have them sitting out so I could look at them. I still love them but they sit in a box now

ChunkyMonkey4321 · 05/08/2016 09:49

Currently around £200 Reiss dress I got for graduation. Loved my Viv Westwood pirate boots around £350 before they died a death. Thought they were worth it though cos I wore them so much. Wouldn't wear them now though probably

Gin4lunch · 05/08/2016 09:50

What I do is wait for all you rich people to get bored with your expensive clothes and go around charity shops buy them for next to nothing and tell everyone I paid top price.is that a bit tight?

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 05/08/2016 09:54

£125 on a pair of boots about 10 years ago. They lasted ages and I wore them constantly.

I would never spend that again.
Unless I win the lottery and then I'm getting a mulberry Alexa and shit loads of nice jackets

At the moment the most expensive thing I own is a £25 pair of jeans. Grin

My wedding dress

My Clarks boots were £125, would never normally have paid so much as I normally wait for the sales but it was a bit of a last minute panic buy. Ive certainly had my wear out of them, so I consider them a bargain.

My highest cost per wear is my LK Bennet silk shoes. Bought pre-DCs for £95. Worn once for a wedding.

StuffandBother · 05/08/2016 10:03

£300 on Dubarry country boots .. I've had them 5 years, wear them loads and they still come up like new with a good scrub and once I remove the horse shit

mrsclooneytoyou · 05/08/2016 10:19

A few dresses around the £300 mark
Most expensive things I own are handbags ( I have 10 that are over £500)
And shoes

Savagebeauty · 05/08/2016 11:08

£400 on Stuart Weitzman boots. That was five years ago and they are still mint despite contact use.
All my shoes cost £150 plus due to awkward sized feet

FashionLover1 · 05/08/2016 12:11

Same as lisam78, my most expensive purchase is my wedding dress. After that it's MK bag which I bought few years ago and paid £325 but now it's sad to look at it, totally lost it's shape. Not worth this money.

TwoLittleBlooms · 05/08/2016 12:31

My wedding dress (£100), if you mean normal day to day clothes then probably a dress that I got I got in a sale at monsoon for about £30.

Mine's my £300 All Saints leather jacket, my second All Saints leather jacket which was £250, and my oak printed Mulberry Bayswater which was £600 from the outlet 3 years ago.

Aside from that, I've a few £200-£300 pairs of boots because I'm a footwear buyer/merchandiser but didn't pay for them and a couple of Rebecca Minkoff bags that are usually around £200 (bought in sales).

The prices drop pretty sharply for my non-leather items though. I have a Diesel hooded parka/coat which was about £75. The next most expensive is probably some Wildfox sweatshirts which were originally $100 (also bought in sales for around $60), Topshop Jamie jeans or Levi's at around £40.

Floisme · 05/08/2016 13:20

Coats and stuff aside, a 1920s beaded flapper dress which I paid £150 for about 20 years ago. It was an absolute fortune to me at the time but I just had to have it. I've no idea what it would be worth now.

I'm never going to wear it again so am drumming my fingers, waiting for my son to fall in love.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 05/08/2016 13:30

Currently, I am wearing a Vivienne Westwood brooch (birthday pressie from DM) on a charity shops mans tweed jacket, which is starting to look a bit tired, and cost me about four quid!

BikeRunSki · 05/08/2016 13:31

Aside from wedding dress (£700), and specialist technical cycling and mountaineering kit, cashmere hoody I got with birthday vouchers 5 years ago. Love it, wear it all winter. £140 ish.

1moreglassplease · 05/08/2016 13:56

A Fendi evening dress from Selfridges which cost £1225 and I've worn it once, to a ball. Also went to Gina and splashed out another £800 on shoes and bag. I must admit they did look great on the night though, and I have used the shoes and bag since.

Did have a gorgeous £800 Alberta Ferretti silk cocktail dress, but it got sold on Ebay a while ago. I still miss it.

maggiethemagpie · 05/08/2016 14:17

Aside from my wedding dress probably a pair of boots that cost £80. I hate spending a lot per item on clothes, prefer to go for lots of lower cost items or second hand from ebay, you can pick up many a bargain that way

Boredomismyenemy · 05/08/2016 14:32

Liberty print Nike trainers that cost £120. Most of my clothes come from eBay or charity shops as I never seem to find what I'm looking for on the high street. That said I'm sure a lot of them were expensive originally. Got a pure cashmere jumper in unworn condition from a charity shop for £4 for example, which would've cost loads new!

GuinevereBeck · 05/08/2016 14:37

Burberry mac that cost £700. I told myself that it was reduced and would be an investment lifetime buy, but still feel slightly sick when I wear it. The worst is, it's slightly too big and it niggles me every time I put it on. I feel like I should bloody love it for the price of it, but I just don't. Oh well, I'll consider it my stupidity tax.

PickAChew · 05/08/2016 14:40

£110 Camel Active boots. Had a good couple of winters out of them, but I've managed to gouge the leather, unfortunately.
