Summertime, and the livin' is easy...some of us are basking on beaches, others are managing the madness that is school's out but work goes on...either way we want to look chic in the heat while it lasts

Come tell us what you are wearing on these balmy days...it's friendly here Smile

Blingy I just received your parcels, they had got stuck at the post office while I was away.

I love it all, two fab rain coats, crazy jumpsuit that is a little long but I love and burgundy Hoss dress that is a tiny bit tight on the hips but good incentive to lose some pounds before Christmas. Thank you so much Halo

Gmail is great for separating things for you. It automatically puts them into social, promotion & personal. But unsubscribing is also the way forward.

Great buys Lib, love the skirt.

Shop I'd definitely recommend the lakes, so beautiful.

Longislandicetee · 25/08/2016 11:58

Oh super, that's great Stokey! We are massive recyclers in my family, it always so much more pleasurable to know stuff has gone to a good home. got my eye on dsis' wardrobe

I also just saw your picture of you wearing the crazy jumpsuit Envy That's how I imagined looking! Not like an escapee from Prisoner Cell Block H!

shopafrolic · 25/08/2016 16:29

Stamps feet and wishes she could fit into ANYTHING of Blingy's

Longislandicetee · 25/08/2016 19:08

I just chortled at the thought of you stamping your feet in my size 3 shoes.Grin

shopafrolic · 25/08/2016 20:26
Grin
libertydoddle · 25/08/2016 21:59

Outnet order arrived...

The suede biker jacket is totally and utterly gorgeous. I may never wear any other jacket ever again Grin. Need advice though, the suede is very, very soft and supple. I'm a bit scared to spray it my usual leather spray. Do I need to get a suede specific product?

MK top is soooo sparkly also a keeper. Perfect for easy dressing night out.

Raybans were a disappointment Put them on and my first thought was 'Oh my God I have a big nose'. This is the first time ever in my life I have had this thought. So they are being dispatched right back to where they came from as quickly as possible

AmberNectarine · 25/08/2016 22:48

lib you definitely DO NOT have a big nose. Much like, despite what the H&M changing room mirrors tell me, I do not have cellulite on my upper arms (lurkers, I honestly don't, I promise). That jacket is so lovely - glad it's perfect!

justasecond · 25/08/2016 23:00

That jacket is totally gorgeous Lib and very you. I would use a specific suede spray in case the leather one makes the lovely soft suede stiff.
You have reminded me of a suede coat I did that to from Outer Edge at topshop, anyone remember Outer Edge? it prob wasn't the best quality suede though!

I wish I could fit into blingy's clothes too Envy

I've had a think about my best buy of the season and I really can't think of anything. I wear this a lot atm zara stripe shirt its a bit high in mmf but still nice.
The navy disco that I bought earlier in the year has also been used a lot. I think my worst buy was prob the crop flare jeans from TS. I have worn them a few times but always feel a bit dumpy in them. Maybe it is the colour, a darker wash may have been better.

I'm on my third set of antibiotics for a uti and am horribly bloated. I had to resort to taking out a pair of too big trousers from my ebay pile as I can't do the button up on my usual bottoms. Hope this course gets rid of the infection.

libertydoddle · 26/08/2016 07:49

Thanks amber Smile. I hear you on the evils of changing room mirrors. Have you been in the Other Stories changing rooms with the big mirrors on 3 sides? I'm not a pretty sight in those Shock

Justa you poor thing. you must feel lousy. Hope the AB works this time. Have you managed to have any time off work?

maradesbois · 26/08/2016 09:03

Morning all,

lib glad you love the jacket, it looks perfect for you and your reaction proves that when something is right there is no umming and ahing about whether to keep .

justa poor you that sounds rotten. Hope these abs sort it out. Yes I remember outer edge at ts! Memories of very tough suede too, I had a navy a-line mini that was pretty rigid, memories of 6th form nights out with said skirt, biker boots and a white ts vest - my grunge lite years.

Stokey glad you had great hols, fab that you have inherited from blingy, love a good MNV swap.

Just home from collecting ds from gps and away again tonight, trying to fit in a few hours work on thesis in the interim. No time for shopping, my visa balance hasn't looked so healthy for a long time. Wanted to share my grown up lady birthday gift though, bag like this one but vice versa ie in the black monogram print with leather trim. They are doing my initials in small red and gold lettering between the wooden bits. It will take up to 6 months to make but love the idea of something hand crafted.

HappyGirlNow · 26/08/2016 13:57

Love your jacket lib

libertydoddle · 26/08/2016 14:28

Oh that is a proper grown up bag mara. Was that from DH? Well done MrM!!!

Welcome back Stokey and bon voyage (again) Amber. Lovely bag Stokey; its a good colour and love the unusual style.

Mara that is one gorgeous bag - is the lining yellow as in the link?

Lib I loved the jacket when you linked it the other day so well pleased its a keeper; the MK top is nice too and looks like you can tart it up or dress down.

Justa hope the meds kick ion soon - that can't be much fun.

Changing room mirrors are the devil in disguise! As are photo's - some recent pics show me looking rather portly to say the least - I'm wearing size10 trousers and size 12 top Hmm so whilst not tiny, not Mrs Large proportions either!

Merriboo · 26/08/2016 16:41

😂😂😂 Amber we believe you!
Lib that jacket is gorgeous, think I would stick with a suede spray too.

Quick question for the bag loving Voguettes, I'm mulling over a new tote that I can use for work and leisure. Have a shortlist or an Antigona, Gucci bamboo daily or a Valentino rock stud shopper tote. Would appreciate some input on these or other contenders?

Drywhitethanks · 26/08/2016 19:20

Evening all.
Just skimmed and I have a few comments:

Amber you could posdibly have the waist of Zarita taken in, not a difficult alt if you can be bothered.
Lib big nose Confused.........
Fedup re mirrors. I think fitting room mirrors are horrid because 1. You are too close 2. Lighting is always horrendous 3. You aren't standing next to another woman to get perspective so you focus on your hang up areas that IRL aren't as bad as you think.
Shop I wish I had your email system. I have 3 w mail addresses but am totally confused about all of them Hmm but I'm not in the Blingy w
Email category, one are mostly from shops.

My summer purchase successes are :
Jigsaw white SS Broderie top
Boden 3/4 sleeve guipure cream top
R Minkoff Outnet tan clutch
Red Ch Olympia suede slippers, thanks Shop.
K Millen pencil dress in blues

I hate my black Gap sack maxi dress

Finally, anyone thinking of teeth whitening....if you have sensitive teeth it REALLY hurts, but the results are amazing....I feel twinkly Grin

Drywhitethanks · 26/08/2016 19:22

Oh, and I've worn my Dune snakeskin block heeled sandals a lot too, love them.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 26/08/2016 20:35

why is it soooo hard to get rid of clothes?! i've managed to separate out two medium sized vac bags and divided them up into piles according to who or where they will be going but it seemed so hard deciding what to actually give away. I kept thinking of reason after reason why i should keep things instead of thinking about why i should give it away

libertydoddle · 26/08/2016 21:57

Have you some where you can put them for a few months one then if after a few months you haven't missed them it might be easier?

Merriboo I think the bag lovers must be off line tonight. I am not a bag expert so I don't 'know' those bags. Can you do some links?

Bernice Flowers. The Toast culottes arrived today and they are perfect.

i haven't really lib i'm havign to be pretty ruthless and tbh, it's about time as my clothing piles have really got out of hand. when i started pulling stuff out, it just never seemed to end, i honestly didn't realise there was SO much stuff hidden away. I need to stop myself from buying anything new unless it's a NEEDED purchase for a good while, certainly until i've tamed the masses that are currently taking up every available bit of space in my bedroom. I think it's a backlash against being that kid in school that was never in the right clothes or was ever allowed to wear anything 'cool', if i'm honest, i'm still trying to work past that so i suppose that's why i just keep buying, in hopes that one day i'll feel okay about it

libertydoddle · 26/08/2016 22:22

Well you are very cool now one. I know what you mean though. I often struggle with buying nice things as I feel I don't deserve them which is a message from childhood too.

OP posts:
OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 26/08/2016 22:36

thanks lib Thanks it's definitely a hangover from childhood and teenagerdom. i was never dressed right as i was never allowed to choose anything myself, i was never allowed to dress in the same way other girls my age were so i do struggle sometimes to let go of that and just relax about it. you'd think at my age i'd be over it by now but some things just take root and grow into ugly trees

Longislandicetee · 27/08/2016 08:34

Morning!

One, this time last year I decided not to buy any more new work clothes because I had bought a lot for work in the previous 3 years and just needed to enjoy my purchases. Would that work for you? I used to, at the end of each year, ditch anything I hadn't worn the previous year, but I had got out of the habit in recent years. You have been losing weight over the last 2/3 years and I suspect that there is an element of you that can't quite believe the weight loss so you are keeping the bigger clothes, just in case. I sort of identify with this. In my head, I am taller than I really am, and I am bigger than I am, so I have had a bad habit of buying clothes that would either suit someone of average height who is size 8. My decision to ditch all the clothes last month was about embracing what the mirror at home tells me and not what my head tells me. So that's my advice to you this morning...., embrace who you are now, embrace the clothes you like now (eg the 50s dresses) and let go of the past/old you.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 27/08/2016 08:55

i think there is definitely an element of that blingy i looks in the mirror and i just see a big fat blob, i don't see my waist line or my collarbones, i see flab and nothing else so i hang onto things because yes, i don't believe what the mirror says and listen to my head. If i had the space id do what lib suggested and put stuff away for so long and see how i feel about it

Longislandicetee · 27/08/2016 08:59

Mara, that's a gorgeous bag!

Meriboo, I am not going to be any use at all! For me, a bag that works well for both casual and work is one that isn't too structured. My Antigona is beautiful, utterly beautiful but it is very structured and stiff so I only use it for work. I get compliments from both men and women every time I use it. The Gucci bamboo, I know is a classic but has never done anything for me, personally, but I could see it being used for both work and casual. The Valentino Rockstud bag...I love the shoes but the bag doesn't do anything for me as I think it looks cheap.Blush Sorry, I really hate it when people say that on S&B as it sounds so dismissive and obnoxious!

Right going to get my are out of bed and to the cross trainer!
