haev you shaken your tail feathers?

cupcakes · 23/01/2007 09:45

not with this post baby weight - I'd knock something over.

MrsJohnCusack · 23/01/2007 09:52

am laughing at 'Richmond (the über-Boden borough)'. Ah, I used to live there and it is so true

he really should come on here. It would be the quintessential Mumsnet happening

Enid · 23/01/2007 09:52

yes I like white stuff

again tops a bit short but skirts luverly

As a relatively recent convert (well, sale convert), I am so pleased to read that everyone else has issues with the length of tops - thought I just wasn't Boden shape.

NotAnOtter · 23/01/2007 10:12

cupcakes yes yes yes

I am 5 foot 7.5 hardly a giant - boden tops are like cropped tops on me

hatwoman · 23/01/2007 10:17

my main winge (being 5 foot the tops fit me fine)is why does he think children have arms the length of monkeys? I wonder

my main bug bear is price, there's a dress i like in the new catalogue, but its over £70 no way.

tops actually fit me but then i'm a 5ft 2" short arse

the hotchpotch tops this season look like they've been designed by someone who's colour blind. i'm all for an eclectic mix of fabrics but there is a line, and they cross it well and truely.

MrsJohnCusack · 23/01/2007 10:24

glad it's not just me that thinks the tops are too short

only buy in the sale. love the girls clothes on DD though, only ever like a few things on me. can't bear the mens clothes, generally really wanktastic

cupcakes · 23/01/2007 10:36

the men's section of the catalogue seems to be getting smaller and smaller...

Enid · 23/01/2007 10:45

I bought some stuff from there for dh abuot 4 years ago

after he had tried them on, he handed them back with disdain and said 'never ever order me anything from Boden ever again'

MimmyPig · 23/01/2007 10:46

Er, Mrs Badger, I have bought a hotpotch top and it's actually very nice on. Have had lots of positive comments on it already! Everyone likes it!

Got dh a shirt from there this week as well and it's really nice.

Enid · 23/01/2007 10:47

isnt the shirt about 4 feet wide with laods of billowing material

MimmyPig · 23/01/2007 10:47

I don't find a problem with the length either.

MimmyPig · 23/01/2007 10:48

Hmmm, actually Enid, we ordered the shirt in his normal collar size and it is a little too big so just waiting for the size smaller now.

Dh is 6' 3 though and not skinny - the sleeves were the right length etc so I can see how someone smaller would find them way too big.

florenceuk · 23/01/2007 10:51

I think the problem is that fashion has moved on (lots of long tops around), but Boden hasn't. I dug out some tops (Gap, fatface, uniqlo) from before I first got pregnant (i.e. 6 yrs ago!) and they are all quite short and have gone in recycling bag.

MimmyPig · 23/01/2007 10:52

And I'm not short - 5'6" and tops fit me fine.

Don't find any problem with kids arms or anything!

Maybe we should be moggles!!

MimmyPig · 23/01/2007 10:53

Well, my hotchpotch top covers the waistband of my low rise jeans and I'm not a short arse. No problem!

lucykate · 23/01/2007 10:53

the only things worth a second look in the mens stuff are the pj bottoms, dh has 2 pairs (sale) and they have lasted really well, and maybe the cord suits. dh has one and it does look quite good on him. he wears it for 'unformal' unveilings of his portraits, otherwise he has to wear a full on dinner jacket.

the girls stuff is nice, not convinced with the boys though.

danceswithnewboots · 23/01/2007 12:48

I do like the plain tank tops ...having started this thread...
I'm going to read Mrs Badger's article now and see if it puts me off buying

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 23/01/2007 12:51

it bloody put me off, I can tell you!

Fimbo · 23/01/2007 12:58

I have just received the new mini-boden catalogue and there is quite a lot of nice stuff for dd in there.

Mimmypig which colourway did you buy the hotchpotch top in? >

And on the subject of Boden where is Malory???????????????????????????????
