Center Parcs is full of kids wearing Boden mostly called Rupert and Hugo with Daddies that look like they've never met their children before.

SecondhandRose · 26/01/2007 13:34

Oh and where are the funky jeans/cords this season. None to be seen. No flowers and no hippy chic.

bosscat · 26/01/2007 13:37

did anyone try the wrap tops last year and the year before? they just don't wrap! they gape open and are very unflattering. they make me look like I've got 4 boobs

titchy · 26/01/2007 13:52

I have to admit I quite like Johnnie's stuff (his clothes that is - not him, he's a creep! working mothers indeed), but will only ever buy in the sale. My big gripe is that he hasn't yet discovered the fact that some women are under 5'3" so skirts and trousers far too long. I buy FF too, but agin only in the sales, I guess that makes me a cheapskate ponce . Oh god and we're off to C'parcs Mothers' day weekend. AARRGGHH!!!!!

Having said that I think he's got his typical couple wrong though - a household income of £55k in Richmond ain't gonna buy much - or does Jemima's trust fund buy her sassy crops and hotchpotch tops?

Kaloo20 · 26/01/2007 14:03

I love MiniBoden and spend with them regularly with big splurges twice a year. IMO they make age appripriate clothes for DD who needs a larger size than her age suggests

dueat44 · 26/01/2007 14:43

Have you seen the 'Isle of Boden' section of the website, with all Johnnie's favourite films, foods, etc on it/ A bit up himself, I thought ...

But my washed velvet coat in Brocade (sale purchase!!) is great ...

HEIFER · 26/01/2007 15:12

So who sells childrens clothes as nice as little johnie, and preferably slightly cheaper...

answers here please....

oh online sites only please... (don't do shopping)....

merlotmama · 26/01/2007 15:16

Thanks, everyone, for letting me know I can ask for fewer catalogues.

Off to Center Parcs soon too...only DSs have mundane Scottish names, so doesn't count...don't want to be lumped in with Boden fanatics.

Not averse to the odd colourful button....after all, if I'm paying through the nose for something I don't want it to look like it came from BHS.

Was not pleased last year to discover M&S has brought out a cardi almost identical to my French Collar one...and this was not even per Una, but bog-standard old lady M&S!

satine · 26/01/2007 15:28

Quite agree about the 'Isle of Boden'. What a pretentious load of crap! I bet he loves The Eagles and reads John Grisham novels really.

edam · 27/01/2007 09:50

eek. I was aware of Johnnie's politics (inc. attitude to working mothers) from a previous article. But hadn't realised his spooky demographics. The stats are practically spot-on for dh and me. And we used to live off Northcote Road!

Mind you, I haven't bought anything from Boden for ages because I've just lost interest in his clothes - nothing worth forking out that amount of money.

franca70 · 27/01/2007 10:08

I remember reading that article in the guardian! creepy... I find boden stuff for adults really hideous and boring.
children's clothes are a bit better.
heifer, try dpam.com
I also like nordickids.co.uk (pricey, but run by a woman!)

WideWebWitch · 27/01/2007 20:26

Fantastic that you've asked him Justine, do report back and let us know what he says!

itsallabitmuch · 28/01/2007 08:11

I bought a wrap top last summer. I'm 5ft10, size 8-10 and it makes me look like I have a belly. Quite impressive really.

dueat44 · 29/01/2007 17:39

Admit it Johnnie ... you're out there lurking ...
