Dispiriting day on the FE coalface. You know Useless but Overpaid Boss? Well, further evidence of his incompetence has been unearthed since he left.

Firstly, one of the senior tutors said she used to be his boss years ago. Well, for two weeks until she sacked him for being so useless.

Secondly, for the six months he was working for us, he kept saying he was too busy to do stuff, as he was 'working on his report'. Said report has now been received, and it is one page of A4.

Thirdly, one of his tasks was to organise the programme of courses for the next academic year. He cobbled something together in his last fortnight, based on a quick chat in the corridor with my colleague. Big boss is now having to hurriedly rewrite the whole thing, as it is completely unaffordable.

It would appear that he really was as useless as I suspected.

I went to a funeral yesterday and wore grey trews, with a darker floaty shirt and boring work shoes. It was our old next door neighbours and I'm good friends with her DD. There was a wide variety of outfits there, not all dark at all.

I am just ........ Wtaf. You can screw up that bad and be back in what, 10 days???

I have a lot of black work clothes, but I don't really want to look like I'm about to dash back to job afterwards. Hmm I have a black linen jacket somewhere.

Hello all congrats cv on all fronts, v sorry to hear about agonising pains but hope hols will help. At this end Too much news, too many people in the house, odd stuff at work including unwelcome talk of compressed hours and rotten streaming cold (whisky I'd good, I think, Mrs s). Last funeral icwentvto lalsy I wore dark brown, everyone else in black but no one horrible about. Mi - you're really attractive and stylish and funny - but I fear you won't be able to velievevthisevthings until feeling better and more rested. Rose - prob too late but totally agreed with everyone you should make yr suggestions but not discuss with staff first. Roll on Spain and my crepey inspired hols
