Evening all. Just done a little GAP order as realised the majority of my holiday dresses are black. Also giving one last shot at the off the shoulder top thing with one from GAP in navy with a vertical stripe. I imagine myself wearing it with white GAP boyfriend shorts but last time I tried them it was an epic fail. Still sale prices mean it's worth another try. Don't panic - all paid for from my current account :)
So nice to finally see the sun although everyone on the school run was moaning about being too hot Hmm

Lots of people wearing off shoulder and cold shoulder tops today. They don't suit many people IMO.

I returned the Zara lace top today. Was too hot to bother trying on the large. Decided the yellow top is fine in medium. It's just trying on clothes especially with long sleeves in the heat makes me feel all hot and bothered. It fits just fine.

I need some summer dresses for holidays in October but CBA looking!!

If anyone sees a kakhi denim style jacket let me know. There is a lovely Rag and Bone one on the Outnet but at £160 it's about £100 more than I want to pay.

Longislandicetee · 18/07/2016 21:38

Lib when we were out for dinner on Saturday I couldn't believe how many women were wearing the off the shoulder tops. It will be a cold day in hell before I wear one of those things! I can't imagine anything less flattering on me!Grin

Dh is talking about going away in October, where are you off to?

I have had such a great day. I worked in the garden all day. Had supper with the dcs then we played rounders and tennis in the garden till 8pm before doing shower and stories.

Mara, thesis in the garden sounds fab and I am glad eyebrow gate has blown over. I can still come and deck her for you

Another scorcher tomorrow and so I have abandoned all face to face meetings again to work from home.Grin

I just realised today is my last child-free, non-working day until September and I wasted it running errands and performing domestic duties. Had I realised I would have planned something MUCH more self-indulgent.

I think I suit off the shoulder tops, but maybe I'm kidding myself. DH loves my shoulders (they're a bit muscly, I was a competitive swimmer in my youth, but whatever floats his boat), so they always go down well.

No shopping to report - had a browse in the Village post breakfast at the Ivy Cafe yesterday (which was lovely, by the way everyone) but only picked up the Becca Champagne pop highlighter in space NK. Did try on a dress today which I liked though, have put pic in usual place for opinions.

Almost looking forward to the office tomorrow, just for the air-con. My house is very energy efficient with a SW facing garden. Brilliant in the winter, but it really does retain the heat and the sun streams in through the French doors all afternoon, so the living room (where I am currently working with a hot laptop on me) is like a sauna. Better have some wine to cool down!

libertydoddle · 18/07/2016 23:31

I think they do suit if you have good shoulders and good posture Amber which you do.

Blingy we are going to Menorca for half term week (24th).

AmberNectarine · 18/07/2016 23:50

Oh shop - a year late, but TK Maxx had my Valentino sunnies in the clearance for £25 today. Let me know if you'd like me to pick you up a pair (though I do not intend to lead you into temptation).

Those off shoulder tops have to be skintight - more Sandy from grease than the loose ones that are around now - I look pregnant in those as they hang straight down from my chest.

Actually, my 'pulling' top age 18-20 was off the shoulder. Black with orange, pink and red flowers from H&M, super-tight, smocked all over. Sounds dire, but it didn't fail me once. I must have thrown it out at some point, regret that (not that I'm on the lookout!)

AmberNectarine · 18/07/2016 23:53

The evidence!

Looks really nice Amber.

Oops re: doing such virtuous activities on your last child-free day!. Must consider a pampering treat at earliest opportunity!.

I actually wore a human outfit yesterday - royal blue ASOS midi, black silk cami, silver Phase 8 necklace and some white leather flip flops. Actual human proper outfit, no maternity or stretchy waistbands in sight. Felt good!.

Meeting other Mama's for lunch today.....will be in the shade - oof
warms!.

Have a good day in the sun everyone's.

AmberNectarine · 19/07/2016 06:58

That's the one that makes me look pregnant peach!

libertydoddle · 19/07/2016 07:07

I saw a lot of those ones Amber and they are not flattering! You don't look pregnant in it but it doesn't do anything for you.

Drywhitethanks · 19/07/2016 08:19

Isn't it fabulous today? Exactly the weather for decorating and spinning Hmm.......with a bit of reading in the garden in between.
Ootd my huge decorating jeans and paint spattered too.....it's all the rage don't you know.

Hope you don't all boil in London today.

libertydoddle · 19/07/2016 09:17

I've had a flurry of early morning emails changing meetings to teleconferences and I'm now in a very loose H&M sundress and bare feet working from home.

On the downside, my black tie do is tonight and I'm having my hair done at 2.30pm... wondering if it's worth it. hair will probably be a frizzy mess within 2 mins of leaving the salon Confused

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 19/07/2016 09:38

oh my god, i am soooo hot and im travelling home today, much as i dont want to leave. the sooner i move the better but its on hold right now as we've so much to get sorted with the flat and finances surrounding that so until they are sorted, im staying put. plus dp and friend who we are moving with still need to find a suitable place so the hunt is on. hopefully something will come up soon and we can all get settled

love to all Thanks

AmberNectarine · 19/07/2016 10:00

The train in was a bit grim this morning but I made it. Have had to break my 'no bare legs in the office' rule. Wearing loose black Topshop shirt dress and not much else!

one if you are looking in the area and need any tips, do feel free to ask!

Outnet clearance is on - just ordered a DVF dress, theory silk shirt and a pair of Rayban clubmasters for £175, which you can't complain about!

Drywhitethanks · 19/07/2016 10:09

Oh Liberty it's tonight! How exciting. We need a picture. Total pain about hair, isn't there a product of something? not a clue

peachlife · 19/07/2016 10:19

Oh - bugger - sorry Amber Blush - will teach me to post in haste. Though to be fair I could only have wished I had looked anything like that when I was pregnant!.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 19/07/2016 10:23

Hi all! God it's hot. Also have bare legs in the office - wearing Uniqlo seersucker dress (the same one QueenC has in a dark colour) with embellished Gigis (think they're actually Gretels but this way you know what I mean!). Turquoise and silver studs and my orange Pippa bag and J crew panama. I never usually bother with so many outfit links but I must be pleased with today's!

Amber I was going to say the same as Lib... doesn't look bad but does nothing for you. I totally agree re Sandy from Grease, I have a very fitted bandage-y cream OTS top from H&M which I love (old, here). Can't eat a big meal in it though

I have a basket waiting to be checked out on the outnet, just trying to be sensible as nothing was on my wishlist. (What's happening to me?!)

One I hope your train has aircon!

Lib exciting, can't wait for pics. Good luck with the hair, hopefully the salon can help make it heat proof.

That dress and another (navy Bevan) were in my basket but they sold out while I was dithering! D'oh.

Excellent price on the ray bans!

MarshaBrady · 19/07/2016 11:57

Going in to work now, WFH today was very nice.

Wearing L'Agence city shorts with Lanvin silver flats. Love these shorts!

Everyonelovessparkles · 19/07/2016 12:47

Have a lovely time tonight lib we definitely need a picture of the final dress choice? Did you get the coast one altered?

amber bargain DVF dress and a really nice colour.

outfit sounds lovely blair and perfect for the weather.

I'm working at home today so not a very exciting outfit - denim shorts and a cotton top from top shop that is years old.

VivaVegas · 19/07/2016 12:50

Can anyone advise on what is suitable to wear in an upmarket European holiday resort for dinner/evening? We normally 'self cater' and eat out every night so I generally wear either dresses (but not dressy dresses IYKWIM) or last year a lot of the time as it was so hot I wore either black tailored shorts, denim shorts, with one of a number of nice short sleeved tops and flat sandals. Now I know the denim shorts won't be suitable but would the black tailored ones?? They are thigh length so neither hot pants nor Bermuda's!
It says no sandals for men so DH is now not sure what he's going to wear on his feet. Tailored shorts are OK for men so i'm hoping the above will be OK for me. Otherwise what could you wear with a dressy top and sandals, too hot for trousers surely.
We booked this for a change, very different to what we normally do, other than one similar holiday a few years back and that was in October so it was chilly at night and shorts wouldn't have been an option!

AmberNectarine · 19/07/2016 13:22

I had to get an 8 in that dress, so it may be too big. Can give you first refusal if you like Blair?

BerniceBobsHerHair · 19/07/2016 13:23

Not sure Viva sorry.

Lib I have missed what you have planned to wear tonight.

Also this is off brief but khaki skirt not dress
