Just popped into Selfridges at lunch time. It wasn't as manic as you'd think, though there was queue outside Gucci as though they were giving them away! I didn't get anything as, fortunately for my bank account, all the things I had been eyeing up on t'interweb I didn't like when I saw them.

I did over hear this amusing monologue though by someone rummaging through the sales rails 'Oh my gawd! They've got the azaelea! They've got the azaelea! The AZAELEA is in the sale! I can't believe the azaelea is in the sale!' So for any one who missed that, the azaelea is in the sale! Grin

I am properly ruthless now with my wardrobe. Think it must be a SP thing. I still lust after loads of sexy shoes and dresses but shop much more for my current lifestyle. Voguettes taught me that. Flowers
Am sat in a hospital waiting room waiting with DF to have a follow up CT scan.

That azalea dress is so over. Everyone and his dog has worn it. And only about 12% looked good.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/06/2016 17:14

Shop hope all is ok with the scan Flowers

I am going to Ireland for the weekend (to Kerry) with friends. Weather is forecast to be only 16 or so degrees - what jacket do I take? (Other than raincoat of course.) Is that leather biker weather, or khaki cotton jacket? Either way I'll be layering up the t-shirts. I may even take chelsea boots rather than trainers, as I don't want to get my white Stans wet or sandy. It's so difficult to pack for that in between sort of weather!

libertydoddle · 15/06/2016 17:30

Leather jacket should be good for west of Ireland Blair. Cotton jacket probably not warm enough. And take a scarf as it's usually breezy so makes it feel colder. Chelsea boots are a good idea rather then Stans as some of the best things to do are walking on beaches etc and white trainers will get destroyed. Have fun, some friends of mine from Dublin were in Kerry last weekend and they sent me some gorgeous photos.

Shop hope all goes well for DF.

Everyone sales hysteria can get to us all Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/06/2016 17:34

Thanks Lib you are a star!

The azalea dress could only be worn by people who are 7 feet tall and have tiny boobs. And even I wouldn't be caught dead calling an item by its name in a shop, unless it was a bag!

Stokey · 15/06/2016 18:08

Thanks for the new thread Shop

I'm in awe of sales organisation techniques. I'm more a fly by the seat of my pants type.

Thanks for the pom pom sandals link Bernice (& Blair on the previous thread). Of course I clicked on the £100+ ones from NAP & Matches.

I've got a couple of parties coming up at the start of July and could do with something new to wear. Not sure what. One is a kind of club night and one is a drinks party.

I've bought a couple of dresses from Hush recently but they're more day time. I really like the poppy Venice dress, it's not winter colours but I think it suits me. I also bought the Chevron Grecian dress which I think I like but need to get a strapless bra.

Finally, what concealer or corrector do you ladies rate? I've been using a Bobbi Brown one for ages, a pot called Boing and then concealer with cream & powder. I use it mainly for under the eyes. But it's running out so am thinking of trying something new.

Sorry long post!

libertydoddle · 15/06/2016 19:27

I use Bobbi Brown concealer too Stokey so can't recommend an alternative.

So far my sales strategy isn't paying off. The things I want are either gone or not in the sales.

Everyonelovessparkles · 15/06/2016 19:37

shop hope all goes well for your DF.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/06/2016 19:55

lib about half the stuff on my list isn't in the sales either! Sales are not what they used to be...

My Dune shoes arrived and are either too big or the wrong shape for my foot, I can't work it out. Either way I'm sending them back, and won't be ordering from All Sole again, they don't include returns paperwork and make you pay for the returns. A bit crap when everyone else seems to use collect plus.

Stokey I use Laura Mercier Secret Concealer for undereyes. There's another one called Secret Camouflage that people rate, but I haven't tried that.

VivaVegas · 15/06/2016 20:32

Stokey I have the Hush Venice dress in black from last Summer and liked it a lot for on holiday and when it was warm, not worn it yet this year, not warm enough! I like the poppy colour and think as a (self diagnosed) Winter that it would suit that colouring too.
I don't use concealer or corrector so can't offer any help there. My make up is another thing I need to sort!
Trying to stay away from online sales..........will see how long that lasts!

Drywhitethanks · 15/06/2016 21:28

Stokey YSL Touche éclat for under eye, Benefit 'Boing' for spots. I'm an impulse sale buyer, not organised or restrained enough to wait Hmm

Gosh I'm in a fashion wilderness. Don't really need or want or am excited by anything at the moment strange . I've had a wedding invitation for October and am even thinking I may wear something IVE ALREADY GOT Shock Shock must be something wrong with me

Off to google Azalea dress.....

Drywhitethanks · 15/06/2016 21:31

Ah yes......pretty........Perry from Little Mix wears it in a video enough said

Stokey · 16/06/2016 08:37

Viva the poppy colour is slightly breaking the rules winter wise. Winters are meant to suit blue-toned reds best, so slightly darker than that. I think that colour is more for springs IIRC. But I've got a bit of a tan at the moment and it definitely works, in that way neons work when you're brown.

Thanks for the concealer recommendations, will get myself to a JL next week and try them.

VivaVegas · 16/06/2016 09:36

You're probably right Stokey, I have a lovely pink neon top which looks great with a tan but awful without!

FedupNagging · 16/06/2016 15:02

Thanks for the new thread Shop - wondered where you'd all gone! Hope all goes ok for df.

I don't use concealer but have used touche eclat in the past. I really need to update my makeup and add concealer back in. I've run out of 2 perfumes, 2 lipsticks and an eye pencil recently plus favourite eye shadow is getting low. I'll pick up perfume and lipstick at the airport in a couple of weeks but then head to JL beauty counters for everything else.

Nice Hush dress Stokey. I tried the grecian dress but I looked like an american football linebacker in it! I got this one which unsurprisingly, hasn't been worn yet.

No fashion news, and ootd is really boring too - navy boden crops purple 3/4 sleeve t and navy fitflops Blush

Dh and ds3 should be working are watching the football; I'm sensing that it isn't going well Hmm so may wander in to investigate not really that bothered tho

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/06/2016 15:15

Sales shopping is going well and I'm running out of money. Did a J Crew workwear order:
Peplum top, can't wait to try this
Campbell straight leg cotton trousers in black
and a Tippi in bold red which will be my third one. They are such nice jumpers.

No one else seems to be buying anything! Come on people Grin

libertydoddle · 16/06/2016 16:12

Lovely buys Blair. I'd like a Tippi too but none of the colours I would like are available in my size.

My belt arrived today, very pleased with it.

Toast sale starts tomorrow - have a eye on a couple of items there.

PausedToTakeInTheView · 16/06/2016 16:52

De lurking to ask of any of you stylish ladies might have a current J Crew code please? The one I had has expired sadly. Thank you and please keep up the great work!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/06/2016 16:58

Hi Paused, I usually try THANKYOU or THANKME which I think give 25% off and free delivery/returns... probably only works on full price stuff though, if it does at all. Good luck and let us know what you're buying! Smile

PausedToTakeInTheView · 16/06/2016 17:04

Those were the codes that I had Blair but I just tried both and they came up invalid. I wondered if it was because they have a sale on, although I am looking at full price items. Their scalloped swimsuit and also a metallic linen tee. I'm also a tippi fan by the way - I think I now have five!

KittyHello · 16/06/2016 17:17

Paused Does THANKME or THANKS work for 20%? I used SHOPNOW30 for my recent purchases but since the sale started I don't it works anymore.

Lib I love a classic tan belt

I've gone a bit off piste with my purchases, these items weren't on my sales list Blush

navy Boden jumpsuit, great for hols

can't resist a Breton, I blame the Breton thread in the red/oatmeal colour way.

Blair great purchases I love a Tippi, have about 5, I need a navy one but am sitting on hands for the moment as I'm waiting for one more thing to be in the sale.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/06/2016 17:18

Oh no that's disappointing Sad the metallic linen tee was definitely in the sale when I looked earlier, but not in every colour. I think Shop has it, it's lovely.

KittyHello · 16/06/2016 17:21

Cross post Pause

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/06/2016 17:30

Cross post Kitty Grin I love the jumpsuit!
