DH has got the day off today and my parents are up to look after the kids, so we're having a lovely date day. Climbing the O2 this morning, then lunch, then home quick change and dinner at the ivy cafe in wimbo. Lovely and sunny at the moment, hope it stays like this!

mara just to echo what everyone else has said, your 'friend' sounds awfully jealous which is a horrible trait to have. Try to ignore her and see her rudeness for what it is, insecurity on her part. i'm sorry she's made you feel bad

it's a bit on the warm side for me today, i'm so glad i had some sunscreen stashed at dp's so i've been able to use that he last couple of days.

I have the Baukjen ruched skirt, I wear it loads but if you walk anywhere in it it does end up about 2 inches below the bum.

Dream oh no! Depending on the fabric, I'd be tempted to try a bit of washing up liquid as it's oil.

justa really nice bag, I can definitely see you with it. I think if you love a bag you should go for it - I really want a new bag but haven't found one I love lately. Maybe if you wait a few weeks a red one will come out for A/W?

amber I've already been for dinner with a friend. It was very nice. There's a small courtyard at the back where you can sit if it's warm but the restaurant itself was really nice too. I'm sure you'll have a lovely time! They take bookings up to 3 months in advance so you need to be organised for dinner reservations or just get an early time like us

Dream I can confirm your Stans will drive you mental and the squeaking will get worse, I bought mine from Adidas online and they gave me a full refund.

Blair & Sparkles, I've used both vanish & washing up liquid now & washed it twice. It's now quite dry yet but it's wearable.

Justa the APC bag is lovely - it would be great in red but the black is good too.

Speaking of bags - I have seen quite a few people with this MK one recently and it looks great. I have had a bit of a MK aversion as so many people have them irrational bag snobbery but I may have to get one of these.

Did my reformer pilates class this morning - LOVE. Off out this evening for cocktails and British tapas (same places as a few weeks ago but different people). Will probably wear black HL leathers (thanks as always Lib), new blue AV top and black Zara blazer. Not sure what on feet yet........

Tomorrow is DS' gymnastics class and then last sun tan cream shop before holiday, and then DS has a dance show on Sunday. Looking forward to Cyprus.

Missed my hair appt today (but am luckily booked in with someone else tomorrow-hate new hairdressers though) as I fell on my arse and hand and ended up in minor injuries. No fracture thank goodness.

Thanks everyone, it's right on my doorstep, so I'd probably take my chances and just rock up for dinner to try and get a cancellation!

I had that problem with the Baukjen one Blair - probably why I never wear it. The Boden one I got in the longer length and so far, so good.

OOTD was a black Maje tee with a wolf, Eagles and a motorbike on it (DS loves me wearing this), 7FAM distressed cropped black jeans with raw hem, silver reebok classics, burgundy whistles leather biker and black Stella Falabella again (love this bag, think will get in grey).

Mara, I would have said "goodness, that's unpleasant!" and then given a bemused smile. She's a bitch. Don't take it to heart. One thing I have learned about being in a very competitive environment is that it's rarely about me. Hard to remember when someone is being an utter bitch but keep reminding yourself.

Letting the dcs have a big treat, watching The Lego Movie on the big screen. I am sneakily mumsnetting.

Oh, one other interesting thing that happened today. Huge bunch of flowers arrived at my door, much to my bemusement (DH rarely sends flowers). My lovely boss had sent them to thank me for all my hard work.

blingy I let mine have a film in bed on Friday night. They think it's a huge treat. Really it just means I can pack them off at 7pm and open the wine!

I haven't worn a maxi in years shop but trying on the full length dresses for the black tie event made me hanker after one. Have a good night tonight.

Mentions of haircuts are reminding me that I desperately need one. I've never been a frequent visitor to the hairdresser - never dyed it - and it's too easy to get into the habit of just having long hair. It's not been cut in a year and as it's curly it doesn't match my style personality at all. Think I need to go back to a long bob but then I'll actually have to bother blow drying and straightening.

blair a year ? Mines been about 11 weeks and it's awful. It just desperately needs shaping. It gets really greasy too when it needs a cut. Not sure why.

Hand is much better-amazing how quickly the bruising has gone down. Such a shame that I won't be able to manage press ups in circuits this morning though .

Really feel for the French and Turkish people. We were in Turkey last summer and I would love to have gone again but dh said no. Dh had also suggested South of France. This really hurts them in their pockets as well as emotionally.

On cheerier notes, we have just completed week 1 with our new housekeeper/nanny. The difference is breath taking. The kids are happy, there is no tension in the house, our house is amazingly tidy (I had forgotten that's what our kitchen used to look like before the dcs turned it into yet another playroom!), and the house is all ours.

The annoying thing is you never have a retort ready at the time which is why people get away with being rude. I'm desperate to use the MN comeback......."are you serious?" Would have been good. I'd give her a wide berth.

Went out to the pub with ex collegues last night and drank water spent the night in the loo just couldn't face a prosecco head today.

Turkey situation just awful. Slightly uncomfortable about how close Cyprus is to it all but Government website advice still the same. We go next Saturday Blingy. Glad the new nanny is working well.
