shop well done for recognising there's a problem and doing something about it. Glad that Dh was so supportive. All of us shop too much probably on this-never quite satisfied with what we have and always chasing that elusive item that will fill a wardrobe gap. We treat ourselves when we're happy and when we're sad. But stick around because the most important thing on this thread is friendship and prosecco Smile

Everyonelovessparkles · 12/07/2016 17:06

You did do well happy

Several monsoons here today in sarf London too.

peachlife · 12/07/2016 17:10

Bucketing down here too now.

DP has taken baby peach for an early bath and extra playtime. We have bright red cheeks and drooling like a St Bernard so I think the teething has started in earnest. Poor little mite.

Mmmmmm prosecco Queen....

Drywhitethanks · 12/07/2016 17:18

Today I'm trying the St Tropez over off self tan....will report tomorrow. Hope I'm not too orange. Can't believe it works. If it does it will answer all my problems exaggerated ? on holiday.

At the same time I'm starting the teeth whitening tonight.

It's bonkers isn't it.....trying to get my skin browner and mt teeth whiter.....MAD Hmm

justasecond · 12/07/2016 17:49

Hi everyone, I'm just going to slink back in as there is too much to catch up on.
Big hugs to shop a very brave post, glad you have confronted the issue and your dh has been so lovely about it. It really is so easy to get carried away and it is a hard transition from working and being able to spend freely and being a sahm.
I need to reign in my own spending my wardrobes are jam packed and I can't even see what I have clearly anymore. Not to mention my clothes looking crumpled and unironed from being squashed together.
Welcome to all the newbies peach and everyone loving all the chat!
Interesting q about the wardrobe mistakes. I have so many Blush I am always worse with summer clothes than a/w.

What are you using for teeth whitening dry?

libertydoddle · 12/07/2016 17:51

dry I am imagining you like Ross Geller with v tanned skin and fluorescent teeth... Grin

Drywhitethanks · 12/07/2016 18:59

Good god I really hot hope not Liberty
Went to the dentist, doing it properly Justa

Longislandicetee · 12/07/2016 19:15

Grin at the Ross Geller teeth image.

I have put on a couple of kilos which is a big deal when you're little like me. It doesn't go well with the dress I am wearing. Had to present in front of my team (100 people) and spent an hour tugging my dress down. Blush

shopafrolic · 12/07/2016 19:29

The good news for me is that I have a great wardrobe full of stuff I do actually wear except the pink boots so it's not all bad Smile

Trying very hard to ignore all the sale final reduction emails flying into my inbox.

new mantra is "think before I press buy"
I bought the blood sugar diet book today. Going to give it a try after i get around to reading it. Smile

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/07/2016 20:43

Dream I read a tip recently about pausing to think for a few days about every item you want to buy - the idea is that you go off the item most of the time. It's working quite well for me! NB this does not work with the outnet when you know the item will sell out and you have to have it!

I'm planning my birthday party (sorry again for all the birthday chat). Amber i have booked karaoke! Went for KB in the end as the other place didn't have rooms bigger than 12. Now I'm thinking I need a new dress as all my friends have seen my Zarita and red Carven. If anyone fancies any fantasy shopping, feel free to link ideas for me Grin (money no object, just want to see what you think would suit me!)

shop you do! You always look fab and stylish. And the pink boots will be worn one day!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/07/2016 20:59

Forgot to say Happy my lariat necklace arrived today. It's very nice, glad it was half price though as there's nothing to it! They also delivered it to the wrong address which was annoying. I couldn't specify an office address so wanted collect+, but no, they delivered to my home anyway. Hmm

And well done on the rest of your massive haul!

AmberNectarine · 12/07/2016 21:11

I'm going to KB this weekend Blair! Hope you enjoy it! If this interview goes well I may be turning hobby into a vocation...

shop, I think you're super brave to admit that, both to DH and us. And don't be a silly bugger, this is your home! We all have our struggles - you all know mine. Take care of yourself, lovely lady!

AmberNectarine · 12/07/2016 21:12

Blair, I saw a bright orange Zarita in the sale at Bentalls and I thought, 'oh that is so Blair!'

AmberNectarine · 12/07/2016 21:13

Also, have been wearing my pink blazer LOADS, which I didn't expect. I love it, really jazzes up a t-shirt and jeans.

Right, I'll stop posting stupid mini-posts now!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/07/2016 21:23

Ha Grin maybe I could get another Zarita...! I could pop in this weekend and see if it's still there. I'm sure I will love KB!
That is so exciting about the interview - I wondered what you meant when you said you were passionate about it!

HappyGirlNow · 12/07/2016 21:26

Aw great re necklace blair I wanted it to be fine anyway Grin

libertydoddle · 12/07/2016 21:29

happy I have just now caught up on your links. Love the palm print jacket. Zara is good for sales. I never think of French Connection but you have done well there.

peach how is mini peach now? Did you get out for your bike ride?

Welcome back justa Smile

dry sorry for the horrifying image!! I'm sure you'll look your usual chic self after all the body maintenance.

MarshaBrady · 12/07/2016 21:35

Shop ultra brave post, we love you more for it, so you must hang around even more. It's all about the friendship on here too.

Justa welcome back

Work is driving me nuts, so quiet. But I'm on holiday mid next week so I suppose there's no point in asking for another project to do as I'll have to hand it back. But I'm going loopy. Roll on next week.

shopafrolic · 12/07/2016 22:14

FedupNagging · 13/07/2016 03:17

Shop well done on your brave post and kudos to your dh for being so supportive. It is so easy to get carried away shopping when there is so much lovely stuff around - and of course clever marketing!

Since dh jacked in his corporate job 6months ago, I have really scaled back spending on clothes etc sob (I also unsubscribed from lots of sites) and it has forced me to wear what I do have/try different combinations etc and funnily enough I still seem to have enough clothes! You have some fabulous items in your wardrobe Shop so enjoy them and please don't leave us.....

FedupNagging · 13/07/2016 03:25

Another holiday book recommendation Dry - The New Woman by Charity Norman - couldn't put it down!

Also let me know how you get on with the St Tropez shower thingy - i've been humming and hawing about it for a while but I have a terrible track record with self tanning so it needs to be fool proof!

Happy that's a good sales haul.

As I've not bought much this summer, I don't have any regrets; however, my favourite purchase is the Kate Spade bag swiftly followed by the Ilse Jacobsen flipflops which havn't left feet this holiday.

So, what is everyone else's favourite summer purchase?
