Jumps right back into the thread after 11days radio silence Shock. We're still on holiday and having a fab time- final hotel before home so spending most of the time relaxing and reading.

We stayed up to watch the tennis last night - fab result.

Have had a quick read and sorry to hear some of you are not feeling too great Flowers and extra Wine for Stokey, hope your dh is home now.

Mara I've just finished reading 'The Improbability of Love' which is about your area of expertise - I loved it, great holiday read. Dry I think we like similar books so you'd probably enjoy it too.

Waves to Peachlife, sounds like you had a great time with your dh and good luck with the weight loss.

Good luck today Amber

No purchases except a gorgeous hand painted batik silk scarf in blues and pinks .

Drywhitethanks · 11/07/2016 08:01

Ooh I'll order that book Fedup am gathering my holiday pile.

Peach we have Meet Ups (MUs) from time to time.....you must come next time, they're brilliant.

Sobbed through Outlander finale (where are you Lara?) then watched it again and cried all over again pathetic softie ...... Followed the footie by the shouting from downstairs.

Amber love the sound of yesterday's outfit.

peachlife · 11/07/2016 08:26

Waves to Fedup - great to hear you are having a fab holiday Smile. Weather is nothing to write home about here so enjoy the sunshine wherever you are. Thank you for the good luck with de-chubbing Grin. Night away may not have helped with that particular mission - but back on it with a vengeance today.

Aha a meet up - sounds great - my word the outfit pressure!.

MarshaBrady · 11/07/2016 08:37

Fedup have a lovely holiday, great to feel relaxed like that.

Lara missing your posts too, hope you're back soon

Just looked at the weather for where we are going, looks perfect for me. I always check obsessively for Easter etc hols, but this one looks good

MarshaBrady · 11/07/2016 08:52

Peach you should come to the next MU, they are great fun

peachlife · 11/07/2016 10:17

Aw thank you Marsha Flowers. If I can I will!. I am down on the South Coast - are they usually in London or somewhere central'ish?.

shopafrolic · 11/07/2016 10:23

Usually in London peach

peachlife · 11/07/2016 10:29

Great shop - London is def do-able.

Stokey · 11/07/2016 10:49

Morning all, thanks for all the wishes (birthday & dh)

He's at home now and recovering slowly. I think the hardest thing is not to overdo it, I'm trying to keep him on a plain diet but he's a bit resistant. He's definitely off this week and may work from home next week, I need him better for hols in August.

Your holiday looks fab Fedup, enjoy.

I treated myself to some Sam Edelman wedge sandals in the net a porter sale, which should arrive tomorrow. I'm hoping to wear them with the black Hush jumpsuit on Frdiay night (assuming Dh is well enough for me to go out).

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/07/2016 11:22

That's good news Stokey, glad to hear it. Love the shoes, what a bargain!

Thanks for the birthday wishes but it's not til August - sorry, I realise it is a bit weird to link presents in advance Grin

Hey Fedup, the scarf sounds lovely. Glad you're having a fab time.

Had a lovely weekend - dinner and drinks on Saturday with friend and her parents (wore red DVF wrap dress) and then family lunch yesterday for DM and DB's birthday (wore sleeveless trench dress over a Breton with a dark leather belt). Made some purchases finally, these shoes hope they're wide enough for my trotters and this necklace.

peachlife · 11/07/2016 11:36

Great to hear he is home Stokey - I hope his recovery continues well.

Your new sandals are fab - I love a good jumpsuit - you will no doubt look stupendous Smile. Hope DH is doing well and you can go Flowers.

libertydoddle · 11/07/2016 16:25

Love that necklace Blair.

Has been a busy day today - wore this Ines for Uniqlo dress with this Mango jacket and my leopard print loafers. In theory it should work but I felt really frumpy. The material on the dress just doesn't seem to hang properly and it's slightly too long and having a tie back means I can't wear a belt with it and I think it would be better with a belt...going to keep it for hot weekend days with with superga and probably chuck it at the end of summer.

Which brings me to a question...what have been your 'mistake purchases this year? As well as the Uniqlo dress I am also regretting the Hush jumpsuit. It's one of those things that looks good when I am in heels, stood in front of the mirror, with hands in pockets, shoulders slightly raised... basically I need to stand like a poncy Hush model to look ok in it. Everytime I catch a glimpse of myself in a shop window in it I just think 'builder / mechanic' etc.

MarshaBrady · 11/07/2016 16:32

That's funny Lib - clothes in which we must stand a certain way to wear. There's something out there that I see on sites and the model is always standing the same way, for it to work. Can't remember what it is now, will bug me til I do.

Stokey great SE sandals.

Blair fab necklace and sandals, both will really suit you.

My mistake buy was a while ago now, but the same - an ASOS jumpsuit. The knees went baggy after one wear and I chucked it in annoyance!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/07/2016 16:55

Oh that's so annoying Marsha, asos is so hit and miss.

I bought a red fedora from zara that I haven't worn. It looks ok on me but it just isn't me.

We finally booked New York, well the flights anyway. We've been flipping credit cards for a few months to stockpile Avios points, and have done well enough to be flying out First and returning in business. I'm SO excited even though we couldn't organise it for my actual birthday - literally never thought I would get to fly in another class! Grin We're going in November now so at least it will be cooler. I know I sound like a birthdayzilla lately, but I don't usually care about it at all beyond a nice meal out, and big birthdays only happen once a decade!

peachlife · 11/07/2016 17:00

So many mistake buys....a Warehouse oversized chiffony, navy shirty thing (to hide as much of me as possible post-pregnancy). It did the job - I am like a head on feet wearing a billowing bedsheet in the middle. Worn once - discarded forever. Will take to charity shop.

Midi dress with beaded middle - strapless. Thought I was fatter than I was...it fell off and looked dreadful all at once. Given to charity clothes sale!.

peachlife · 11/07/2016 17:03

blair - sounds fantastic!. Think you are very right to go crazy for the big ones - you will have an amazing time no doubt.

Oh yes - I bought a black fedora and a bergundy fedora.....thought better get prepared for never having time to blow dry my hair......wore bergundy once - it blew off. I like it but hats seem more fiddly to wear than doing hair!.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/07/2016 17:06

Haha peach, I'd love to be a hat wearer but just stick to straw ones on holiday now. If the weather was nicer I'd probably be making an effort to wear one day to day as well. Just had a downpour with thunder and lightning Hmm

QueenC1 · 11/07/2016 17:16

Sorry lib I shouldn't laugh at the builder analogy! I think jumpsuits can be tricky to pull off. No real mistakes for me although the khaki trousers I bought from BR when I was in the US are a bit hard to style. They need just a tee or vest but I only have blouses. They also feel a bit too casual but occasionally they make a nice change from jeans so I don't regret them. You could probably sell the jumpsuit-hush is the sort of thing that would go well on eBay.

stokey so glad Dh is better and at home now. A stressful time for you all . Nice sandals to cheer you up.

KittyHello · 11/07/2016 18:33

Stokey so glad to hear dh is better, hope you get to go out Friday, I can see you in those wedges.

Hello and welcome Peach

Holiday sounds lovely Fedup

bought this H&M linen top looks much nicer irl and am wearing it today with Black Boden Bistro crop trousers.

Hmm mistakes for this year, I have been trying to be so good, no mistakes as such but have found my khaki BR trousers difficult to style a la QueenC I think we may have the same ones, also bought some black cords from Next and haven't worn them as much as I thought I would.

Birthday plans sound great Blair

AmberNectarine · 11/07/2016 19:17

I, too, got caught in the downpour. Particularly tedious as the red suede part of my bag has leached dye onto my pale blue jeans. Only Topshop ones but particular favourites.

This ring arrived and is a perfect fit for my middle finger. Very pleased with it - the sort of thing I will wear loads and, because I have child hands, makes quite an impact.

peachlife · 11/07/2016 20:39

Hi kitty - thank you for the welcome.

How did it go today Amber? - hope you didn't get rained on before you had another intvw or anything. Hope also outfit choice worked well and gave you the right boost. Good news on the ring - does look lovely.

No downpours here...how infuriating re: dye on jeans - that really is annoying. Hope it either comes out or you can get another pair?.

So these Chanel bags??....Grin

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 11/07/2016 21:02

ugh today's weather has just been awful, hot and sticky one minute and then freezing cold and windy the next. luckily no more than a few spots of rain but i hate not knowing what to wear and being caught out in either too little or too much

off on my travels down to see DP tomorrow for a week, be nice to get out of town tbh, tensions have been running very high here since the referendum because of the high immigrant population here. im very disappointed by a number of people i know and the things they've been saying to the point ive had to delete some of the from social media because i cant stand to see it. not the people i thought they were

Stokey · 11/07/2016 21:37

I'm worried about the Hush jumpsuit now Lib! Was yours khaki? I'm hoping the black will make it more wearable.

The sandals came and were too big. I should have checked the sizing against my other SE shoes but NAP had US8 as UK 5. When they came they said UK 6 & 38 on the box, which is just weird . So am going to try again, I think a US7 but not sure, anyone else a 5 , know what size I should get?

We've had some awful stuff here too One. Just shows how much racism was still just below the surface.

Hope your jeans & bag recover Amber.

I've got a Cos top that I've worn a couple of times but doesn't work that well. It's OK with leggings but a bit short for a dress and a bit long with jeans. Often a problem I have with Cos, designed for the tall I suspect.

Longislandicetee · 11/07/2016 21:45

Evening everyone! Am exhausted after a whirlwind weekend and busy day. Went to sporting event on Friday, so suede trousers, white shirt and beige jacket with ballet flats. Saturday was Superdry t-shirt and skinny jeans for the cinema (Shop will be shocked to hear no j crew jeans) and yesterday was a family party where I wore the Michael Kors dress that Blair and I both bought a few months ago (thank you Blair!) and my red Aquazzura shoes. I love love love those shoes.Grin I have been using my Mulberry Roxanne all weekend and today I ran into a colleague using a dark chocolate one. Gorgeous. The reminiscing thread has made me realise there has been no bag thread for months. Peach, don't go there unless you love a good rumble and have plenty of time on your hands!!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/07/2016 22:14

Ah Blingy such a good dress! I bet you looked fantastic.

Stokey that is really weird, I'm a 5 and the SE sandals I just got from NAP are an 8 and were fine. And 38 is a 5 isn't it? If there aren't half sizes I guess you just need to get a US7 Confused
