Happy birthday Mara! Hope you've had a lovely day.

Happy have fun tonight!

My littlest baby is 5 tomorrow. HOW? I joined the W&A thread which was the precursor to this one when I was v pg with her. Marsha will remember - I was going for long walks down the Kings Rd to try and induce labour!

Had a job interview today - has been a long time - felt weird.

Not much shopping to report. The latex bralet is a bit big so is going back. Ordered a couple of Charlotte Tilbury makeup bits though.

shopafrolic · 07/07/2016 19:52

Peach I have one DS who is now 5. It took me well over a year to get my figure back (although I probably weigh less now than I did pre pregnancy). This thread has helped with that as I now eat more healthily and exercise more.
Go easy on yourself and enjoy your little one. Fun times if not completely knackering

Amber job interview? Didn't know you had plans for change. Did it go well?

AmberNectarine · 07/07/2016 20:26

I didn't shop - saw one advertised on FB on Tues that really caught my attention so put my CV in and here we are. Not sure I'll actually leave but seeing where it goes - it's VERY different.

shopafrolic · 07/07/2016 20:32

Ooooo. Sounds exciting Smile

Welcome peach. Gorgeous dress.

Those are great heels shop. Would go unworn here too though!

MarshaBrady · 07/07/2016 21:01

Amber I do, I had to walk to induce my first too.

Mara Happy birthday! Cake [fizz] Thanks hope you've had a really lovely day, and evening

Welcome Peach! lovely dress

MarshaBrady · 07/07/2016 21:03

Happy congratulations on finishing work! What a nice send off. Beyonce sounds fab too

Shop bargainous!

Stokey how is your dh?

peachlife · 08/07/2016 05:32

shop - I think a year sounds realistic for me too....I shall also use this thread as inspiration!.

Thank you for the welcome liberty and Marsha Flowers

Thanks also for the positive votes on the dress - it hasn't been delivered yet so fingers crossed it's good when it arrives. I am about a size 13/14 at present - so anticipate needing to slim into it some more as bought the 12 to help the motivation. DP's work summer party on the 27th August so I SHALL be in it by then.

Job interview does sound exciting Amber - very good luck!.

Good morning one and all.

Not very interestingly I think I have made the perfect foundation by mixing Estee Lauder Doublewear with Estee Lauder Doublewear Light. It's been a long search!

libertydoddle · 08/07/2016 09:35

Peach that is interesting!!! I like how EL Doublewear looks but find it a bit too heavy... mixing sounds like a plan...

maradesbois · 08/07/2016 09:36

Thanks for birthday wishes Voguettes, I had a lovely time. Loads of champagne but no hangover from the really good stuff Wink

Stokey thinking of you, very best wishes to your dh for a speedy recovery. Sounds v tough for you all right now but will soon be a distant memory. Xx

Peach welcome to MNV! Congratulations on your little one and I echo Shop about taking it slow and steady on the weight loss, try and enjoy this time and not stress about it.

Happy congrats! Think I am the only person in the country who didn't see Beyoncé, sounded great.

maradesbois · 08/07/2016 09:38

Amber interview sounds exciting, speaking of such things can you give me any suggestions for good answers to the 'weaknesses' question?

Everyonelovessparkles · 08/07/2016 10:00

Welcome peach lovely dress. My children are 3 and 18months and I only just feel like my body is getting back to how it was pre-children and I still have a bit of mum tum though that's probably because of all the biscuits I eat

Exciting about the interview amber always good to see what else is out there.

stokey hope your DH is feeling betterFlowers

Feeling very hungover today after last night. I knew that last g&t was a mistake...

AmberNectarine · 08/07/2016 10:13

I always say I could be better at delegating - implication: 'I work really hard'.

peachlife · 08/07/2016 11:28

You are a scrumptious bunch on this thread! - so welcoming and all telling me to enjoy baby and not to worry about my er "curves" and liking my new dress - thank you everyone! - very much.

Amber - I have said "I am a bit of a perfectionist...it can mean I ask for high standards from everyone as I expect them from myself. I can also be rather "focused" under stress - and not particularly sociable as I need to get things done on time. I mitigate these by delegating where I can so my time isn't under too much pressure....and ensuring the team know to let me get on in peace and work with me when we are up against it"....don't know if this sounds naff to you?....maybe! - or maybe completely useless in your line of work!. Anyway - seems to have stood me in good stead and have shared just in case helpful at all.

Everyone - sounds like a good night last night - that last one always seems such a good idea at the time Grin. Hope you get time to rest and recover today....with an 18 month old I appreciate this may not be easy Confused. I send Cake

marade thank you for the welcome! Flowers.

liberty - I only tried it on a whim yesterday - and it's a bit of a revelation!. Doublewear too heavy but fantastic coverage and staying power - doublewear light - not quite enough coverage or staying power but looks better and not so heavy. Combined = bingo!. I did have microdermabrasion a couple of weeks back as my skin has been so dry since having bubs. Since that skin is much better - and now new foundation - actually looking quite human if I do say so myself Smile.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/07/2016 11:40

Fingers crossed Amber, when will you find out? Impressed that you just went for it! Mara I'm also interested in that question! No interviews in over 6 years here.

Stokey thinking of you and DH, hope he is recovering well.

Happy how was Beyonce? I read that some sort of fight happened!

Hello Peach! Lovely dress, do report back :)

I'm a lucky girl, we bought this necklace on eBay last night for my birthday (much much much cheaper obviously as second hand!) and the idea is my mum and siblings may contribute and I'll pay the rest as DH is getting me the watch. It's not available in the UK any more, but I have it in silver already which I wore loads before I had my colours done. I had intended to buy it myself but now I can do some final sales shopping instead Grin

peachlife · 08/07/2016 11:40

I think I may be faintly hysterical at being able to talk clothes/shopping/make up - and not baby/booby/milk etc...as I can't seem to stop posting....I shall ration myself....after just this one....

If anyone (like me) is looking for a swimsuit that is a bit flattering, seems to hold bits and disguise bits etc....I bought this one recently and am v happy with it.

www.next.co.uk/g31186s1#390583

I thought I was going to need to spend a fortune on some surgery or scaffoldingmiracle suit just to take bubs swimming - but thought I would give this one a whirl and it's really good.

Right I'm leaving you in peace Grin

peachlife · 08/07/2016 11:44

I'm not here.

Absolutely beautiful necklace blair. Happy Birthday! Cake

Stokey · 08/07/2016 13:16

Welcome Peach, I'm still carrying about half a stone compared to pre dd1 (now 6!), doubt it'll ever go. But did find with both I had to stop breastfeeding to get back to near my previous weight, was about 9 months in i think.
Nice swimsuit. DD2 (age 4) just got a vintage style one that I'm coveting though curves would probably ruin the look.

Thanks for all the support and love - Dh is still in hospital, seemed better yesterday but had a bad night, hoping he'll be out tomorrow, but don't want to have to take him back again.

Lovely necklace Blair. Is your birthday today? quite a lot of July Voguettes.

What was your surprise Mara?

My weakness question is that I can be quite impatient . This has the advantage of being true and showing I'm a fast worker (or so i think). I also say it's something I've worked on since having children (not that they would agree).

libertydoddle · 08/07/2016 13:46

I think the 'weakness' question is lazy interviewing as no one ever answers it honestly! I ask people about their approach to professional development and to describe something they achieved through professional development or else I ask them if they have ever had feedback they found difficult to hear and what they did about it.

peach chat as much as you like. It's great to have new, chatty people on the thread. Keeps it fresh. everyone is bored to death of my how many ways to style navy culottes posts and yes I am wearing them again today Wink

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/07/2016 14:06

Oooh sorry should have been more specific... no my birthday isn't until next month. Grin

shopafrolic · 08/07/2016 14:12

Bounds sweatily in after awesome reformer pilates class. Love it. So so fun. legs nearly flew over top of head today in inappropriate manner
Loving these leggings too. Super comfy and get loads of comments - although could just be because they are so damn loud.
Two BBQs this weekend. Hope the weather holds out. Was thinking of wearing black chinos, black gladiators (or Stans) and white Whistles shirt but knowing me I'll spill ketchup all down myself.
Sad times in the news so I'm staying here where it's safe and pretty puts fingers in ears and buries head in sand

OP posts:
maradesbois · 08/07/2016 14:48

Thanks for the weaknesses tips. Had a mock interview thing to do with my course and scored well but they said I needed stronger answer for the weaknesses question. It was really good practice but agree with you lib that these stock questions are just lazy hr box ticking.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 08/07/2016 15:46

dp is back for the weekend to look after me, which will be nice. he's just brought me a coffee and cake and asked what i want for dinner. we are going to mil's later to put some stuff in storage like mums dolls etc as i don't want to store them int he garage as they might get damaged by temperature changes in there.

no real fashion news other than i now own some superman converse Grin

peachlife · 08/07/2016 19:29

sneaks back in with a batman eye mask on....

marade - there is a healthy dose of irony there isn't there - you need a stronger answer on your weaknesses...aha - well therein lies my non forte Mr/Ms Interviewer!.

Been for a fitness training session....at the park.....at 3 bloody pm just as all the children are coming out of school....and as the sun made it's one appearance of the day....oof.

shop - my Mum is an ardent fan of reformer - never done it myself. Would give it a whirl but there are no classes nearby....currently being annihilated by an ex-Navy PT chap instead. A white shirt sounds a) lovely.....b)quite brave....as you know though my days of wearing white are over for the time being as constantly under siege from dribble/milk/etc etc. Mayo instead of ketchup? Wink. Not sure what weather is up to tomorrow....we are out out tomorrow night - first time away since bubs!. Outfit ready to go....wearing this: www.missguided.co.uk/crepe-wrap-shirt-dress-blue - it's very forgiving....with nude peep toe wedgies and some St Tropez'd legs.

Hope the BBQ is great and, if worn, your lovely Whistles shirt survives intact.

Thanks liberty Smile.

stokey - I really hope your DH is doing ok. Everything crossed he is out soon and on the mend. I found I started to lose weight more easily when I stopped bfeeding too.

Hope everyone is having a nice Friday evening. I am tempted by wine...but curtailed by the inevitable 4:45 wake up call from my little cherub!. Tomorrow night however - there will be a lot of wine Grin.
