I had French sole shoes a few years ago. Personally I didn't find them to be worth the money. I now wear 'carousel' from Clarks and find they are comfortable and wear well.

Everyonelovessparkles · 29/06/2016 08:40

coast
How about this lib? similar colour to the short one you liked.

HappyGirlNow · 29/06/2016 08:43

Just ordered VB sunglasses oops! Been admiring them on her for ages. Just started really accepting that she's a designer Grin I wanted the black but they're sold out, but the tortoiseshell will probably soften them up a bit though... Just have to see if they suit me now..

Also ordered DVF bag - needed a dressy neutral. Really liking some of the DVF bags. The cork dressy one and gold beach bag that just arrived are beautiful!

Weather not too bad here just now but rain forecast. Really wanting the wear my summer clothes and this is getting annoying now meh

FedupNagging · 29/06/2016 08:48

Sizing is up the creek in most shops-standard sizing appears to have disappeared. Popped into H&M yesterday and found a couple of size 12 tops far too big yet a size14 shirt was far too small Hmm

Anyway, I picked up this t
and a cream oversized linen t shirt but can't find a pic.

Lib I guess it's back to the drawing board with the black tie dress. I've had a really quick look at Coast and found
this dress - think you can do this colour
and
this - the description says pink but it looks more coral

This Phase Eight dress is really lovely too but I think the colour isn't right for you.

Everyonelovessparkles · 29/06/2016 10:08

fedup think we linked the same dress Grin lib it's also in a cherry type colour too.

I agree that sizing is bonkers at the moment. I have dresses and skirts from several years ago in sizes 8 and 10 they are loose yet recent buys in sizes 12 are tight Hmm

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 29/06/2016 10:30

sizing is definitely bonkers. I can wear one style of jeans in a 16 but in a skirt from the same shop, i need a 20 to fit my hips but then in another shop, i need a size 14 skirt. Really annoys me because i can never be certain of my size as different stores vary so much in the way they size, even in their own stock!

queenC i do find it's worth it to spend a bit more on decent ballet pumps as they not only fit better but they last longer and i'm hard on shoes because of the way that i walk

lib back to the drawing board then if full length is expected

Shop how is your DF doing and how are you coping?

libertydoddle · 29/06/2016 10:37

Thank you Fedup and Everyone and QueenC who linked lots of dresses on Pin Smile

The Coast one seems a unanimous choice so I have ordered the Lori May and the Lori Lee in teal.

I have also ordered this Adrianna Papell one and this one by Jacques Vert.

And the lovely Mara is meeting me next week and will bring her DVF for me to try.

shopafrolic · 29/06/2016 10:59

Hi One DF is doing ok. We are waiting on MRI results before next steps are discussed and all his heart meds need to change as he can no longer be on Warfarin. I am sat in the doctor's waiting room waiting for my carer's health check. Feel a bit of a fraud to be honest but they insisted.
Dressing Room delivery due today. Will be nice to see some colourful clothes, hope some are keepers. So sick of this weather now. It doesn't help the feeling of doom and gloom.
3 more weeks of school - the term has gone so fast. Can't believe DS will be in year 1 in Sept. Too big, too soonConfused

Morning,

QueenC I think it depends on the brand but wouldn't say high end means harder wearing. I'd expect more than one summer from any pair unless I was wearing them every day and really giving them a battering. Have had my winter ferragamo patent ones for over 4 years and still going strong. Never had repetto but have a friend who swears by their ballet flats and brogues, as comfortable as slippers apparently and stylish.

Happy lovely gold bag. Do you have the cork clutch? Nice. I have it in gold, want to style lib with it if she goes for my long dress.

Lib was Shock at your foray into jacques vert territory Grin but dress looks very pretty plus perfect colour.

libertydoddle · 29/06/2016 11:05

Don't feel like a fraud Shop. Carers health checks are there for a very good reason. I feel the same about DD almost being finished reception. What will DS be doing for the summer? We have booked lots of swimming and tennis for DD and a one week water sports course that looks fantastic - I'd like to do it!!

elliefredericksen · 29/06/2016 12:28

QueenC1 I have Repetto ballet flats and they are made with good quality leather, but are very lightweight. Indoor shoes really (I realise that makes them practically slippers, they are slightly studier, but not by much!). I wear them in the office, but walk to work in trainers. The leather soles are paper thin and the heel almost non existent. They wouldn't stand up to much street walking at all, however light you are on shoes. Very comfortable though.

maradesbois · 29/06/2016 12:46

Shop glad df is doing ok. Yy to doom and gloom rain and to our boys growing up too fast, we should try and schedule a meet up over summer hols x

shopafrolic · 29/06/2016 13:04

That would be great Mara

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 29/06/2016 13:07

you aren't a fraud shop those checks are there for good reason, you don't want to burn yourself out as then you can't be there for anyone at all, yourself included. hope you get good news from the mri Thanks

going to be in london in the middle of july , we are going to the star wars europe celebration, very excited. hopefully dp will have some further info about my move soon, getting a bit antsy waiting tbh

libertydoddle · 29/06/2016 13:16

Grin at the Jacques Vert induced horror from Mara.

I agree, not the first brand that spring to mind when I consider a new dress!!

shopafrolic · 29/06/2016 13:30

Dressing Room order arrived this green AV is fab. I've kept it on. Great colour. Slightly oversized. Love.
another keeper. Fab colour and perfect fit. It's viscose but was £25. Fabric feels nice.
The pink silk cami was awful. Creased on arrival, to muted a colour for me and I just don't think I can do cami tops unless they are under a tailored jacket. Back it goes.
2 out of 3 is a pretty good hit rate though and it's nice to introduce a bit more colour considering I'm a Jewel Winter.

mara it's the cork cross body I have - love it! The clutches are nice too.

shop love the green sweatshirt and blue top.

libertydoddle · 29/06/2016 14:35

Nice shop. Both good buys I think.

happy that cork bag is lovely. How does it feel? I"d worry about it staining.

AmberNectarine · 29/06/2016 14:46

I have that Bellini bag in gold mock croc.

FedupNagging · 29/06/2016 15:43

Everyone great minds think alike!!

Lib I nearly linked the JV dress but saw the make and thought you'd all kick me off the thread Grin. Once the dress is sorted, we can move on to shoes and bags - unless you use Mara's cork bag - which I love btw.

Shop I can see you in both the tops you have kept; and agree with others re the health check so stop worrying!

One I was wondering if you'd moved already as you've been a bit quiet - bet you can't wait.

Waves to elliefederickson - not sure you'll be walking to work in those ballet flats Queen!

Everyonelovessparkles · 29/06/2016 16:07

lib JV dress is a lovely colour. I think they may be trying to get away from their Mother of the bride' image.

Love the blue top shop. Hope your check up goes ok. Flowers

My reiss jacket and coach bag arrived. Love them both!

shopafrolic · 29/06/2016 16:56

Check was awesome - nurse pointed out to me that by keeping me fit they keep me able to care for DPs. Bloods checked, weight etc and will then go back each year for continual assessment.
Willis v Federer just starting - hilarious atmosphere - hope it's a good match. Cheering for the underdog.

In an Uber after a full day in town. Treated myself to a pair of pistols. They suit my dodgy feet much better than the pettys.
Also got loads in uniqlo, club Monaco and BR. Will link later. Tired but happy.

HappyGirlNow · 29/06/2016 21:01

lib the cork is super soft.. I suppose it could stain, but I'll just keep it well away from liquids..

amber it's a nice size/shape isn't it.. Not sure re your one but the cork one does look quality.
