So summer is around the corner probably and we're looking forward to crops, short sleeved tops and flipflops Grin

Come and tell us all about your summer purchases, high street or high end, we love it all.

I have my wedding dress....not much else. A huge leather belt from Zara that I keep just in case big leather belts that you wear on your hips ever come back in!!
I can think of lots of things from my 20's that I wish I had kept but I moved and travelled a lot and my DM refused to let me use the attic for hoarding so had to get rid.

justasecond · 04/06/2016 23:36

Hi all lots to catch up on. Its been a busy week with lots of family visiting and get togethers before ramadan. I feel as big as a house!
Great haul happy love the bags
I agree re gucci marsha I love the shoes atm I was all set to buy these until blingy and queenc put me off at the mu Grin in fact that was the final nail in the coffin as no one I have shown them likes them! I like the flat loafers but not keen on any of the current colours.

Fedup I can be quite ruthless about getting rid of stuff but 3 things always survive, a cream silk zip up jacket from Press & Bastyan (anyone remember them?) from about 1998 when I started working, a pink cotton silk mix ruffled pink shirt from Karen Millen circa 2000 and finally a coat I will keep until I die as it was just the best ever. White military style, from zara in about 2002 with silver buttons I always got so many compliments about it and I never saw anyone else wearing it.

libertydoddle · 05/06/2016 00:00

justa I really like those loafers. Ignore blingy and QueenC Grin I also LOVE the blouse they are styled with there.

QueenC · 05/06/2016 08:18

Ignore me justa....I don't even remember saying that Grin

fedup I some shorts and a skirt that like amber I use as a weight barometer. The shorts are black from monsoon that I bought for honeymoon and I would still wear them now but they are too faded (ive replaced with boden ones) and a monsoon skirt that I bought before we were even engaged.

Ladies, may I de-lurk to pick your brains if I may? I've just ordered a pair of K Jaques tan sandals from Matches. (I get the 30% preview code, the one thing I order with it, I return, and this is my second full price order since getting it. I'm a marketeers dream)

Are they worth the huge price tag? I'd happily spend that much and more on winter boots and shoes, but I feel guilty about spending that much on a few bits of stitched together leather. Do they last forever? I've wanted a pair for years, and the classic ones never seem to go in sale, so i've ordered to scratch an itch, but the guilt is ruining the experience!

Morning. Love, love, love the Givenchy QueenC - that's gone straight on my lust list.
LouLouBelle welcome. Love marketeers dream Grin. I"m afraid I have no experience of those but perhaps others on here will. Stick around :)
Fedup I've been pretty ruthless with my wardrobe over the last 4 years or so so not much sticks around. And I do try a one in one out policy now - apart from shoes Grin. The oldest items I have now are a black wool coat from Monsoon which I only wear for funerals, and my GINA shoes and bag that I wore on my wedding day.
No sign of this scorching sunny day yet here. My DPs are coming over for lunch and I've planned it all to be outside so I'm in a small panic. Off to make salads. Have a good day Voguettes.

My wedding dress

My first ball dress made by my mother for a uni do in the 80s.....homage to Madonna material girl pink dress but in red taffeta, loved wearing it but my perm was shockingGrin

Have a couple of other bits ..... Not a huge hoarder though.

SUN! May even wear short sleeves Shock

Dreamqueen · 05/06/2016 09:41

I like those shoes Justa I'd wear them.

I've hung onto a Moschino jacket from the 90's. It looks like two different tuxedo jackets put together. I'd wear it now but alas it's a size 8 & is a reminder that I'm actually small boned under the blubber layers. For some reason I've also hung onto a load of Ferragamo shoes from the 80's. On someone younger they'd look like uber cool vintage, on me I think they look like old shoes but I can't bear to part with them.

Planning on lots of housework??? before watching the tennis. Going for Chinese meal tonight before restarting sensble eating Mon-Fri.

FedupNagging · 05/06/2016 10:10

No sun here yet either and we were promised sun all day - am feeling very miserable about it actually - we all need a bit of sunshine for the soul.

Dream I'm joining you on the sensible eating plan from tomorrow - have spent the last week over indulging and starting to feel a bit sluggish.

Justa I'm not sure about those shoes either - they'd need careful styling I think. Did you keep the loafers in the end?

I have no knowledge of that brand LouLouBelle - which style did you go for?

Gosh, I've just read this post back and it's very negative - am off to look at nice bags and shoes to make up for it!

loulou check out Shoescribe for K Jacques. Loads on sale. They are part of the NaP/Yoox group.

libertydoddle · 05/06/2016 11:39

Which ones did you get loulou? They are lovely. I like the Homere in particular. I don't have them but I agonised last year over spending £125 on some Russell and Bromley sandals as it seems a lot for sandals! But I was glad I did in the end as I really like them and are very comfortable. I think you do need to accept with sandals that they will get trashed. My R&B ones look scuffed at the front (could be how I walk though)

AmberNectarine · 05/06/2016 12:23

Wearing lots of old faves today - black James Perse tank dress, Calvin Klein denim jacket (bought this in LA when I was 17, still perfect condition!), rose gold Gigis, Rayban wayfarers, a gold and green agate pendant my parents got me for my 30th and this ring which I'd totally forgotten about! Oh and the new Gucci, natch.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 05/06/2016 12:36

i love that lobster ring amber it's just so fun

wearing a new skirt today and i realised i really could have sized down as it's quite loose on the waist. i can get a clenched fist into the waistband while i'm wearing it. i do want some other colour ways of this skirt so i'll know for next time to size down

louloubelle2 · 05/06/2016 13:56

AmberNectarine thanks, but Shoescribe don't have the ones I want in the sale. I am aware of them though, my growing Golden Goose collection is a result of their 50% sales!

libertydoddle I got these, the aphrodites:
www.matchesfashion.com/products/K-Jacques-Aphrodite-wraparound-leather-sandals-1046428

I wanted tan leather, and I'm a bit partial to an anklestrap so have been looking at these for ages. I know they are nothing out of the ordinary stylewise, but any high street versions I've found have always lacked something and looked a bit cheap. Think I'll wait till they arrive and give them a good quality inspection and make a decision. thanks all.

Drywhitethanks · 05/06/2016 16:35

I'm wearing white Baxters, gold Gigis, orange vest. Feeling summery.

Nothing on sale wish list Hmm

Fancy some animal print GiGis if anyone sees them at a good price.

shopafrolic · 05/06/2016 16:53

Loulou I really like those. I have one pair of £££ sandals from R&B that DH bought me when we first met. Well worth the money and still look good.

AmberNectarine · 05/06/2016 19:26

None of my sandals have been cray £££, but my Gigis have lasted 3 summers so far, so I can't grumble. Am considering a pair of Balenciaga Arenas.

LinusLovesBretons · 05/06/2016 20:06

I have been eyeing up some Arenas as well amber

louloubelle I have seen those K. jacques sandals in the shops but never tried them on as I have so many Gigis, which are still going strong.

I love wearing my white Baxters dry, they are quite old now but have worn very well.

My wardrobe has aqcuired three new bretons as I bought some more Saint James tees. The Galathée style is perfect for me but I guess I'll have to get rid of some old bretons as it seems everyone does the 'one in, one out' rule.
