So summer is around the corner probably and we're looking forward to crops, short sleeved tops and flipflops Grin

Come and tell us all about your summer purchases, high street or high end, we love it all.

Will post a foot pic in a bit.
Meant to say I had a lash lift today at my friend's salon. Love it. V fluttery.

shopafrolic · 25/05/2016 20:39

Foot pic approaching Marsha Grin

shopafrolic · 25/05/2016 20:41

I know they won't be to everyone's taste but I love them and the leather is lovely and soft.

Dreamqueen · 25/05/2016 20:50

Lovely shoes Shop
whats a lash lift please?

Stokey · 25/05/2016 20:51

Evening all - September is a long way off QueenC, good luck. You asked me what people were wearing with culottes - one had on heeled brogues which worked well, the other two were more casual in ballet flats.

I tried on several pairs of culottes today which did nothing for me, but did buy some cropped bootcut jeans from Zara & a www.cosstores.com/gb/Women/Skirts/Elastic-waist_skirt/7086-27800105.1#c-22755 Cos black skirt]], I think I've linked it before. We're off to the country on Friday for half term so have also bought waterproofs.

FedupNagging · 25/05/2016 20:53

Ooo, I love a real pic on thread! They actually look ok Shop, I reckon you could get away with that.

Cranagh my first thought re NAP was 'Cheeky f*ers', as is Dry's work colleague.

I have a few pairs of loafers/ballet flats which only get worn in between weathers ie, too warm for boots or too cold for sandals. The exception being the Dune flatforms I bought a couple of months ago - I love them and wear them a lot.

There seems little point in buying a lot of summer clothes as our summers are so short and unpredictable. Layering is the way to go - that and bretons!

Oh shop they are sexy, wish I'd bought them!

When I'm at work I make lots of effort. Days off when it's just me, pretty much none. Weekends a bit more. Nights out its full glamma. I just dress to fit my lifestyle. Agree with what shop said, no need to comment in a non-positive way on anyone at least to their face

LinusLovesBretons · 25/05/2016 21:04

I really think they look ok shop as all your toes are still on the sole of the shoe.

I wouldn't mind a lash lift as my lashes are rubbish but all these kinds of treatments are soooo expensive here like everything really

If money was no expense I would have weekly manicures, monthly pedicures, monthly eyebrow threading, regular facials, regular blow dries, etc etc etc Grin

shopafrolic · 25/05/2016 21:04

Dream trying to get the pics of my lash lift sent to me so I can post but they are on my FB page. Basically they apply perming lotion to the base of the lashes over a little roller so that the lashes lift up (no need for eyelash curlers). They then tint them. Lasts 6 weeks.

dragonsarebest · 25/05/2016 21:05

Delurking to say that I love that Cos skirt Stokey. I tried it on today but was between sizes so gave it a miss. Have been thinking about it on the train back though and filling an online basket.

Can I please also pick your collective wisdom: I tried on a couple of things from the Topshop boutique range, any idea how well they last? There was a cute cos-esque cotton summer dress but I'm not familiar with the label, and don't rate Topshop generally for longevity. I don't like buying things that feel disposable.

shopafrolic · 25/05/2016 21:06

Linus my friend was just launching this in her salon so I was the test client to help train them up. Next week I'm having a massage with Jane Scrivener products - can't wait. Fab having a salon a few doors from my house, run by a friend and at village prices for London treatments. Was in shock when Blair mentioned her shellac prices. I think it's £25 here incl soak off.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 25/05/2016 21:17

the most i ever have done beauty treatment wise is having my eyebrows tinted as i have a lot of gaps due to the hairs falling out. i don't bother with pedi/manicures as my nails are just rubbish anyway so they'd be wasted on me. i wouldn't mind a monthly massage though, it would probably do me the world of good in all honesty

AmberNectarine · 25/05/2016 21:31

dragons I've never bought from TS unique but from what I've seen in store it does seem to be well made. Whether sufficiently to justify some of the prices, I don't know.

I actually buy LOADS from toppers (like half my wardrobe loads), and I can't say I've ever had any quality issues. The shoes in particular are very good.

AmberNectarine · 25/05/2016 21:35

I spend £££ on beauty stuff but I don't have a lot of salon treatments. I do like a manicure and get balayage/regular hair cuts, plus a bit of the old botulism in my forehead, but that's all. That's actually not that low maintenance is it? I don't get pedicures because my toenails are so grim (one black and one missing at present), I don't feel I can inflict them on a poor beautician!

I do my own eyebrows after an unfortunate waxing incident! Had to go back to work after my lunch hour minus a large strip of skin!

Usually epilate but was in a rush last week and shaved my legs. Big mistake. Now missing large piece of skin on my ankle and the bathmat looks like a crime scene.

shopafrolic · 25/05/2016 21:41

No experience of TopShop nowadays I'm afraid.
Eyelash lift before and after pics here.....

justasecond · 25/05/2016 21:45

I think you can get away with those shop they are lovely.
Lovely jeans and skirt stokey

The only "beauty" treatment I have is having my tache and eyebrows threaded. Don't really like people touching me. I also spend quite a lot on products though Blush

justasecond · 25/05/2016 21:48

That looks really good shop I would have that done as my lashes are quite straight

FedupNagging · 25/05/2016 21:48

Lashes look fab Shop - did it sting? I used to get my eyelashes tinted but couldn't stand the stinging so stopped. these lashes would be great for holiday.

Ouch Amber Sad

I have been catching up on mn this evening in between emails and there are sooo many deleted threads, it's very frustrating as I want to know what I've missed nosy parker

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 25/05/2016 21:51

No stinging at all. Lash tints shouldn't sting either. Change therapist :)
Takes about half an hour / 45 minutes. Will definitely have it done again pre holiday. She is doing an offer where if a friend gets it done too it costs £30 each so will try and rope a mate in.

AmberNectarine · 25/05/2016 21:55

Lots of trolling fedup

Lashes look great shop. I have good lashes thankfully. I think it is karmic balance for the Groucho Marx facial hair.

LinusLovesBretons · 25/05/2016 21:56

Great lashes shop!

QueenC · 25/05/2016 21:59

They look great shop, will be interested to see how they last. The shoes look fine too.

If I had endless cash/time I'd get my brows waxed 2 weekly, eyelashes tinted 6 weekly and have vinulyx manicures and pedicures regularly and woukd probably throw in a massage or two too!! As it is I get my lashes and brows done about every 8 weeks depending when I have big events on.

shopafrolic · 25/05/2016 22:02

I only tend to do pre holiday salon treatments and a 3 monthly lip and eyebrow wax. Now I have the laser hair removal device it'll just be an occasional eyebrow wax. Nails only if I'm feeling flush.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 25/05/2016 22:12

Busy on here tonight! I've just watched the first episode of Billions, anyone else watched it?

shop they look fabulous, your eyes look huge!

Amber I have a black toenail too at the moment, hence closed toe espadrilles for summer... Blush I'm with you on the smart for work and nights out, slob when alone thing.

Your Topshop comment made me wonder... what's the shop/brand that features the most in everyone's wardrobes? For me it's Uniqlo! (So many repeat purchases)

shopafrolic · 25/05/2016 22:15

Paige denim for me Blair I think, and J Crew tees
