So summer is around the corner probably and we're looking forward to crops, short sleeved tops and flipflops Grin

Come and tell us all about your summer purchases, high street or high end, we love it all.

I'm slightly depressed that net and matches have boots and winter coats in already. We haven't even started summer yet

Longislandicetee · 22/05/2016 07:37

Love the links QueenC!

So, we all survived last night! Huuuuuuuuge relief!!!Grin The sitters babysitter was very sympathetic as I explained that this was first time, that the dcs are clingy and I had done my best to talk about her all week but I wasn't sure how they were going to be. Dd (who i was expecting to be a nightmare) apparently fell asleep quickly and it was ds who couldn't go to asleep as quickly but she sat with him till he fell asleep. Very grateful to her. It means that we actually have babysitting options and can go back to having a proper social life again after a hard year.

We only went to the cinemaBlush so no fancy dress up for me. It was a bit cooler so I put on this rarely worn Alice and Olivia sparkly jumper with my Gap skinnies and RB quilted ballet flats.

Glad to hear all went well blingy. I have been meaning to try sitters for ages.

Love the colour of that shirt QueenC. Also really like the shoes for Bernice. It is depressing to see winter clothes at this time of year.

Cranagh · 22/05/2016 11:21

Glad you enjoyed the meetup recently. Yes, Liberty would love to meet you in Dublin, just let me know when you're here. Wine or Brew!

Great the babysitter worked out. What did you go to see, Blingy?

Have my eye on a few things for the summer sales but about to buy more for the house so not sure how much of it I will actually get. It's a toss up between Neptune and Burberry these days. Blair, you'll get a Burberry trench in the sales, I got mine at 30% off, I think, after Christmas.

Haven't bought much recently that I remember but I just got this shirt last week and I love it with jeans. Have ordered the stripey version too.

I'm in Lululemon leggings, ahem and have been out shopping. Blush But I'll change after my run. And it's Sunday!

Drywhitethanks · 22/05/2016 12:22

Right OOTD for work lunch do:

Black printed pencil skirt, Oasis
Black boat neck 3/4 sleeve cotton knit, Zara
Black block heeled sandals may be grass involvedGrin
Red Longchamps bag
Black boxy R neck jacket from Jigzaw

This was the outfit I wore to my second MU

polyhymnia · 22/05/2016 12:34

Please excuse crashing this great thread, but just to enlist the help of this special group in my pathetic search for a new bag. You may have already seen the post below and thought it too boring - if so, apologies again, but I want to make sure all bases are covered!

Been looking for a new everyday bag for spring/summer for months now - fruitlessly. Meanwhile, my current workhorse bag is getting shabbier every day. I've trawled all my usual supply sources (R and B, Hobbs, LKB, Massimo Dutti, Whistles, Nat and Nin) and drawn a blank.
Have to admit I'm fussy and have clear ideas of what I do and don't want:
Must be leather.
Nothing from Clarks or M and S..
Nothing with gold metalware that's at all blingy - preferably 'silver'.
Not too structured and 'worky', but not too casual.
Not too 'classic', not too fussy.
Not tiny - unfortunately for me, mini bags are very in this year, but just won't work for me - but not too huge or heavy.
Must have a cross body strap - even if it has one or two handles too.
Must have some sort of outside pocket to put my Oystercard.
Neutral colour - tan, grey, olive/khaki, possibly dull metallic, possibly denim-y blue.
Price range: I'd expect to pay over £100 for what I want but don't want to go much over £250.

Really hope you can help.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 22/05/2016 12:46

Hi polyhymnia! No excuses needed! Have you looked at & Other Stories, Reiss, the Outnet, Jaeger, Uterque, Gerard Darel, J Crew?

Cranagh nice to see you, thanks for the tip, I wasn't sure if they ever really went on sale. Hope all is going well with the house.

Glad it went well with the sitter Blingy, bet you and DH are glad you can go out more now.

I returned this skirt to River Island yesterday, I had to order a 12 and it was just too big. It wasn't quite right either, it's a shame but it seems to be getting harder and harder to find nice stuff on the HS.

I'm suffering, we met up with the friends we went on holiday with, went out last night for a Turkish meal and are about to go out for dim sum lunch. I really need to lay off the alcohol and rich food... after today.

Thanks for all the nice comments about my dress on social media Smile

Drywhitethanks · 22/05/2016 12:50

Ooh poly love a handbag project......think Fedup has just bought your perfect bag...........she'll link soon I'm sure

AmberNectarine · 22/05/2016 15:10

how about Coach poly?

AmberNectarine · 22/05/2016 15:11

Gorgeous but over budget

LinusLovesBretons · 22/05/2016 15:26

This has nothing to do with your specs poly but amber mentioning Coach reminded my about this bag is saw recently.

Such a great colour and I like the simple design as well.

AmberNectarine · 22/05/2016 15:28

Reminds me of the Lady Dior Linus

polyhymnia · 22/05/2016 15:31

Actually, I like the look of this one
uk.coach.com/coach-designer-handbags-prairie-satchel-in-pebble-leather/34340.html?search=true&dwvar_color=LIFOG
in the tan or the fog.

polyhymnia · 22/05/2016 15:35

That Rogue Coach is indeed lovely.

AmberNectarine · 22/05/2016 15:38

That was my first link . I only have one coach bag - a large tote that I chuck my laptop in for work, but it is lasting very well (a lot better than some considerably pricier ones I'm looking at you, Chanel)

LinusLovesBretons · 22/05/2016 15:46

Maybe you should visit a Coach shop poly and try on the bags in person.

I find that touching the leather, opening and closing zips and buttons and generally seeing how the bag looks on makes it easier to find the right bag.

Forgot to say, blingy it must be such a relief to have found a good babysitter the DC feel comfortable with.

We have found one recently as well and we are now making an effort to go out as a couple once a month, just to have some time for the two of us.
