Pointless curiosity really. I read a thread earlier in which the OP had likened Zara to an upmarket Primark and it set me thinking. I do find staple items in Zara and but I'd say a good 60% of my wardrobe is from Topshop and associated brands. Any one else?

OP posts:

I'd say 75% of my wardrobe is from Gap. I find that their stuff is literally made to fit my body shape exactly! They tend to do simple stuff, in natural fibres and always have some sort of promotion on. Other than that I have odd bits from topshop, h&m, oasis etc but find it hard to find items that aren't polyester!

ThatsIrrelephant · 06/04/2016 15:45

Watching this thread! Really struggling with clothes at the moment - think I need to try a range of shops to find what I like. I've heard good things about Zara.

HazelMcWitch · 06/04/2016 15:48

Whistles. Which does my bank balance no end of good Hmm
Gap.
Boden.
Hush.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/04/2016 15:50

I've given up and pretty much live in a uniform of black skinny jeans (M&S Autograph) and black or grey tops from wherever will sell me cotton ones at a decent price.

LadyStark · 06/04/2016 15:56

Oliver Bonas and Joy are two shops where I always manage to find something I like and that suits/fits well.

Judydreamsofhorses · 06/04/2016 15:57

Different shops for different things here.

Whistles - jeans
Topshop - blouses
Oasis - skirts
Warehouse - dresses

I wish there was an easy formula for my difficult feet!

burnishedsilver · 06/04/2016 15:57

Not any more. I cant find aywhere that is reliable and consistant.

HeadDreamer · 06/04/2016 17:13

H&M. It's cheap and cheerful! There isn't a primark in town otherwise I think I'll have to include it in my list too. I quite like New Look too.

5608Carrie · 06/04/2016 17:22

For work it would be Next. I also like Wallis but it's a bit hit and miss.

I live near a fab boutique with an assistant that I like. I usually go there for going out clothes.

ReturnoftheWhack · 06/04/2016 17:53

Dorothy Perkins! hides face in shame

nickEcave · 06/04/2016 17:58

ladystark I also really like Oliver Jonas and Joy. I'm a short hourglass shape and very few shops have clothes that consistently fit

Hackedabove · 06/04/2016 18:05

White stuff Blush

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 06/04/2016 18:17

Outfit is always good, as it's a few stores under one roof helpful, but I buy a lot from La Redoute. Their sizing can be hit and miss, but they always have big discounts in the sales and it's no bother to return/exchange stuff that doesn't fit.

Love H&M unless it's fucking trousers (see approximately 50 previous threads!).

Savagebeauty · 06/04/2016 18:18

Matalan for tops Grin

Cakescakescakes · 06/04/2016 18:19

Warehouse

Moogdroog · 06/04/2016 18:26

Toast, unfortunately for my bank balance

EvaDelectorskaya · 06/04/2016 18:28

I'll be watching this thread with interest. When I go shopping, the one shop I will always visit and usually buy something in is Zara but their quality is quite poor so I would like to find alternatives.
I'm actually finding in quite difficult to buy clothes these days. I'm in my 30s and have a baby so nice day clothes are more of a priority than going out clothes. And I think as I've gotten older and wiser (!), I'm more reluctant to waste money on clothes that aren't quite right or that won't last.

chanie44 · 06/04/2016 18:34

Uniqlo

It's not exactly high fashion, but I don't like to wear anything too fussy.

Floisme · 06/04/2016 18:36

Not really, I shop all over the place and I don't think anywhere on the high street is consistently good. At the moment, if I had to name anywhere, it would be Whistles (sales only) and H&M. I always try and get a mix of high and low end.

A couple of years ago, I'd have probably said TK Maxx and Me & Em but I think they've both lost the plot lately.

fiorentina · 06/04/2016 20:52

Other Stories. I can always find something in there i would love to buy!

Nettletheelf · 06/04/2016 20:52

My beloved Karen Millen. They always have something I like.

MaxMara/Sportmax for posh. Unlike some other labels, they are consistently classy.

lemonade30 · 07/04/2016 00:11

Asos

River Island

Matalan

Some of the concessions/designers at Debenhams.

lemonade30 · 07/04/2016 00:12

Oh and Ted Baker.

HoundoftheBaskervilles · 07/04/2016 01:16

APC or J Crew.

Always something that's 'just what you've been fucking looking for'.

(If you like a hideous juxtapose of Left Bank/Preppy style which I apparently do).

CakeNinja · 07/04/2016 01:20

Ted baker for me too. Smart, nice things for day and evening, wash well and things last.
When everywhere else fails, I know I can find something there.
